I had an appointment with them for 6PM on a work night for an estimate on removing 12 – 18 tall trees in my backyard. I had to leave work early to make sure I was home in plenty of time. No show-no call. This practice may be common in the business, I don’t know but business must be good enough for them to blow off potential customers with decent-sized jobs.

Giant dead oak tree right on our property line, threatening to uproot and crash into our neighbors’ yard any day now. We got two quotes. Tree removal, especially with a tree of this size, is not cheap; but CTLS gave a competitive estimate(quoted immediately via ipad, and emailed to us on the spot), and exhibited more confidence than others we spoke with. And this is not the type of project where you hire someone who seems intimidated! Since we were going to have a whole crew out for the job, we decided to have a few smaller trees, contributing too much shade to our vegetable garden, removed as well; the additional pricing for this work seemed very fair. The project took two days. In the first day, a team of 7 removed the tree top, took down the remainder of the trunk, and cut it into logs. The second day, they ground the stumps and hauled off the larger pieces of wood. They even hauled off an old brush pile of ours, gratis! The whole crew was very polite and efficient. And they tried to pay attention to detail: for example, laying plywood over the lawn before driving the crane down; and shoveling tracked mud off the street in front of our house. Picking up & bagging trash from lunch, and clearing out twigs galore of tree debris. The only thing that could have been improved upon… refilling divots created by the back-and-forth of the trucks. It tore up our gravel drive, and property down the side of our house, which – given all the rain lately– has now turned into a sloshy mess. One of our drainage hoses also got crushed under a wheel. Raking the gravel on the drive back into place may have helped prevent the growing mud pit. At the time of our quote, they also mentioned bringing dirt in to fill in any holes created; but they didn’t end up doing so. Very minor complaints, though, about a job well done.
