Ramsey Happy Nails

I’m angry because they wouldn’t honor the 30% off coupon they put on Unilocal for when you check in the first time. I’ve been a great customer, and they denied me $ 20 off? Really?!

I’ve never before had a «usual» nail salon (I went wherever the Groupon deal was) but this salon has me coming back! I decided to try a new almond-​shaped nail trend and they were able to execute wonderfully. They’ve always been very nice and patient with me (I can be very particular!) and willing to fix a smudged nail or broken tip if I pop in and they have a free moment. Reasonably priced and clean. I’ll be coming back often.

Went there for a gel fill in over my lunch hour. They were done in about 40 minutes! My nails look great and the staff was very friendly. Price was reasonable. I would definitely go there again.
Warning about the Unilocal app coupon. I presented it and they said that they haven’t taken it in a long time. That they have contacted Unilocal to remove it but it hasn’t been done. In my opinion, they should honor it anyway seeing as it is still active on the app but it’s not a deal breaker for me.

It’s off the beaten path but the BEST value and service around Ramsey. The basic pedicure includes the warm towel and stones, unlike other salons in the area. The technicians spend a LONG time with the leg massage and do a terrific job. Gel manicures are $ 25 and long lasting. A mani-​pedi is $ 30.00. I’ve tried several other nail salons in Ramsey and Happy Nails does more for less, and it’s just as good if not better than comparable nail salons.

I have been a resident of Ramsey all my life until recently, and nail salons are a dime a dozen and constantly being opened and closed under new management. I hadn’t been to Happy Nails since high school, but man am I glad I returned as I could not have asked for better experiences.
The first time I went, a gentleman there did my entire gel manicure. He took his time in filing my nails in the exact shape I wanted them and applied the gel precisely and with thin coats (a thick coat will often times cause the polish to ripple under the UV light). Fingerless gloves protected my hands from drying out under the UV light, and the standard hot towel, hand lotion, and neck massage completed the treatment, and all for only $ 25.
Only two days shy from 3 weeks later from this first visit, my nails still looked freshly done (besides having grown out) — no chips or anything! So I went back and got my second gel manicure from them, this time adding on a gel pedicure as well. I was handled by a few different technicians, but I received just as good treatment and quality of service. They wrapped my legs with two hot towels, did a parrafin dip, and spent 5 minutes on each leg massage for the pedicure as well. I also had broken my thumbnail, and they patched it up beautifully — it’s very sturdy and you can’t tell it was ever broken. Total cost of my gel manicure, gel pedicure, and nail repair was $ 75 (I’ve paid $ 75 for just the gel pedicure ALONE in the past).
I came here on a whim because my usual spot was closed, and have now been converted and will make Happy Nails my new go-​to nail salon… even with a 45-​minute drive to get there!

They do a really good job here. They do things that other places don’t, for example, using gloves when your hands are under the UV lights (gel). They do not have as many operators as some places, but I feel they do a superior job.

A 0 star isnt an option, but that is what it deserves. Horrid experience! I made an appointment for a manicure/​pedicure and walked out after the «manicure.» It was horrible. A man in his 40s did the manicure and I kept giving him the benefit of the doubt but it looks like a 4 year old painted my nails. They are uneven and the cuticle cutting left my nails looking like they had when I walked in. I will NEVER return. Huge waste of my precious time!!!

Seriously disappointed with my visit here this morning. I stopped in with my sister with the intentions of each getting a shellac manicure on a 20% discount as they have advertised on Unilocal.There were only two other clients in the salon so I figured that would be a good sign for a short wait. Unfortunately, there were only two manicurists in. They had us sit at chairs, and had a another employee (whom I assumed was just somebody who helps clean up, grab towels, etc.) soak my nails. They then had her begin my sisters manicure (the girl seeming so frightened as if she had never done the job before did not make us feel secure that this would be a good experience).
Forty five minutes later, while my sister was at the end of her mess of a manicure, they then finally take the foils off my nails to begin mine. I had two broken nails and was asked if i would rather cut them or glue them. I replied with a glue and a straight file, and then asked if they charge extra for the glue. The woman told me no and then after putting the glue on one finger, told me it would cost ten extra dollars for the two. I then decided to do something i have never done before and asked her not to continue. I paid for them taking off my polish and then my sister was charged for her manicure. And then i remembered that there was a discount on Unilocal that i mentioned to the woman so that my sister could get 5 dollars off her manicure. She told me i should have had a coupon printed, which is absolutely untrue and charged her full price.
Safe to say, this is the worst experience i have ever had at a nail salon, and i will never be back (unless it is someday under new ownership)

I dont know where the haters are coming from, because this place is AWESOME!
25 dollar gels that last forever!
I have gotten gel manicures in many different spots, and the gel/​shellac manicure I get here lasts me at LEAST 2 weeks, usually about 3 weeks!
Unlike other places– they are VERY careful when they apply the gel polish, because if you get any excess or anything around the sides of your nails, that is instant DEATH of your gels, if its not perfectly smooth and not touching your cuticles around the edges– you gel manicure will last all but a week!
another reason why this place is awesome– the gel manicure only costs $ 25 dollars! I got my gels done for $ 35 where the woman didn’t pay too much attention on the application and the sides touched my cuticle– lasted a little over a week.
EVEN BETTER– download the Unilocal app on your phone– if you go tuesday-​thursday before 12 pm, you get 20% off — so TWENTY DOLLARS FOR MY GELS THIS WEDNESDAY! unheard of.
And usually with the cheap price comes cheaper service– they wont do the hot towel, they skimp on the hand scrub or only lotion your hands, usually something is missing. NOT HERE, this manicure is the works– cuticles, oils, mists, scrubs, lotion with massage, and the hot towel.
And as if I havent already sold you on coming here for your gels– as your hands are drying, you get an excellent back/​shoulder massage. and not for 2 seconds either, i felt like they should have charged me extra for this massage.
Like I said, no skimping, low price, excellent job.
This place has my business for SURE

Unilocalers, it is with great sadness that I post this update, because I really loved the way my nails looked. Unfortunately, my nails started breaking ONE WEEK after getting them done. I couldn’t even make it to the two week mark which is pretty much standard in the industry. Again, this is very disappointing because they looked really nice (and it’s the only way I can keep myself from biting my nails).
