Delicious food! The restaurant is small but the food more than makes up for the size. Their portions are fantastic, and the owner is a wonderful lady. She’s always so friendly and remembers our faces. The prices are average for the area, but you get more food here vs. other restaurants in Rancho. Our favorite part: This restaurant does a Chile Relleno Burrito, and while a lot of other Mexican restaurants also offer them– this is the only place that uses two chile rellenos instead of 1, and fills it to the brim with guac, sour cream, pico, lettuce, rice, it’s the best. The Horchata is made from scratch and is the best in town.

If you are looking to have a nice meal this is not the place. The lady that gave us the menus didn’t even bother to say hello. My dads food was delivered first and about 7 minutes later my brothers and about 4 minutes later my food was delivered with a whole bunch of topping that I didn’t order. The food was okay but nothing out of this world it was also on the pricy side, so I would recommend you save your money and have a nice meal somewhere else.

I wasn’t expecting the food to be as good as it was. The customer service was fair and they served us in a timely manner. The burritosare very good and are a good sized portion. The chips and salsa was good too. Over all for a small Mexican restaurant, I would eat there aging and recommendit to family and friends Check it out !

No sopes!!! soooo sad I only came for these plate sized pieces of crispy and perfectly chewy corn shells, stacked with whatever meat choice I select on top of a layer of refried beans then garnished with queso fresco, shredded lettuce, onion, sour cream and salsa! I knew once I seen this culinary treasure the house was losing money for sure on this deal. Fast forward to last week on a return visit to eat this magical sope, it’s no longer on the menu RIP best sope ever BTW chili relleno is meh El Puerto on Folsom serves up a damn good relleno tho

Disgusting is all I can say. The most expensive burrito $ 12 for dry meat and stale chips. I will never eat here again. The salsa was gross and the meat had no flavor. I’m a snob when it comes to Mexican food but this place is the worst I’ve ever had. I couldn’t finish it and had to throw it away.

The food here is okay. Not horrible but not good. It doesn’t taste fresh or very authentic. It’s really heavy and SUPER over priced. I shouldn’t have to pay $ 10 for a not so great burrito that comes with flavorless, stale chips. They have no salsa bar and the tiny little cup they are willing to give you is also not very good. We were disappointed and will not be returning.

Just a heads up I have high expectations for my Mexican food. That being said I had a pretty good burrito here. The atmosphere is not great. It feels cobbled together and you wish it would either be a dive joint or updated nice but it falls in between. Service was a bit slow but once I got my California burrito I was pretty happy with the result. Not the best I’ve had but not the worst either. This is a solid choice for lunch but it’s not a place you will go out of your way to go to.

Can’t really complain about the food. It got me through my lunch break. I just felt the portions were kinda small for the price! I paid $ 9.25 for an enchilada with a side of beans & rice. The enchilada was pretty small. It tasted pretty good, just felt like it should have been a little bigger. Probably wouldn’t go back… just based off the size & price.

Omg the food was terrible the horchata cost to refill… they charge for extra salsa… the ships were cold and hard… salsa was good but not worth it… this is just another hole n the wall that takes advantage of the people who work buy there n have no taste of what real mecican food tast like

The service here was terrible. I asked for a glass of water three separate times. On the third time, the older Hispanic lady(I’m assuming an owner since she just meandered around the whole time) brought me a 7-up or a sprite. So not only did I have to wait for the food to arrive, she tacked on an extra $ 2.50 :/ The food itself was tepid my the time it came. The sauce was good, but it was shredded beef when I ordered chicken. There was another waitress who was really busy seating everyone, taking orders, bussing tables and taking care of customers. Hopefully if you decide to come here, you get the red headed waitress.

Have been here a few times now. Always get the sausage breakfast burrito($ 6.25 — I think?). I think it’s delicious. Woman at front is very friendly. Food comes out fast.(Most times I’ve been there – weekdays around 9−10−− it hasn’t been busy.) I’ll be back. I’m so thankful to have found this place!(It’s kind of hidden; on the East side of Sunrise South of Folsom Blvd.) I wish they were open on Sunday, though.

Keep in mind that I don’t eat at Del Taco or Taco bell. I’m searching for good Mexican restaurant. . I went out with coworkers for a birthday get together last month. I was a little worried since most reviews here on Unilocal were both extreme of either really good or really bad and no in-between. Luckily for me, my tacos were really good. I had the fish and beef tacos and it was enough to filled me up. Unfortunately some time had passed and now I can’t remembered why my taco were good. Don’t come here if you’re press for time. They do take a little longer to make your food. Don’t come here if you’re impatient. Only one server and it gets a little busy during lunch time.

I absolutely love Cruz Family Mexican restaurant! Growing up in a Mexican household I know how authentic Mexican food should taste. I’ve been here at least a dozen times and each time I have been extremely satisfied with my order. I usually get the Chilaquiles with green sauce, this is my favorite! I’ve tried them at other Mexican restaurants and it’s nowhere near as flavorful as they are here! Their breakfast burritos are also amazing because of the crispy bits of potatoes they put inside, think hash browns. Also, their shrimp cocktail is perfect for a hot day. It’s loaded with shrimp, avocado, cucumber, tomato, & cilantro! This family owned place is a gem!

So I have to say right off the bat the flavor of this places food would have made it a 4 or 5 stars if I were reviewing just the flavor, but alas I’m not. I went here last night and ordered 2 super burritos, super nacho and a bean and cheese burrito. I the burritos were $ 8.99 each, the nachos were $ 9.99 and the Bean and cheese was $ 3.99. So after tax I paid $ 34 and change which I thought was on the higher side for what I ordered and after I paid they tried to short change me. So I got home and opened up the food and for the price the servings were pretty skimpy, but again I must reiterate the flavor was great. Now is where the issues began. I took a bite into what looked like a fairly hefty burrito only to be met with mostly tortilla. after my next bite I realized that there was no guacamole or beans so I opened it up to find that my burrito was mostly tortilla with very little product inside. I called up to notify them of their mistake of the burrito missing the beans and guac in hope they would rectify it by allowing me to come in to get another burrito, but instead I was told I could come in and get a side of guac and beans to put it in myfself. If I wanted to make a burrito myself I would have done so at home. then I asked if they could make me a fresh burrito and they said they couldn’t do that. then I said I would just bring the remainder in for a refund, since I didn’t get what I ordered, and I was told that they wouldn’t refund my money. It really is a shame that this place has such poor customer service because I would have been a regular even tough they are priced higher than most Mexican restaurants in the area. Businesses need to remember it’s not just the food, but how you treat a customer, especially first timers. Again this could have easily been a 4 or 5 star review if it was for this experience.

Yummy hole in the wall Mexican food. Being from San Diego, I miss REAL Mexican food up here in Sacramento. I stumbled upon this spot a few weeks ago and we’ve already been twice. It is definitely not much to look at but that’s ok. The food is great as is the service. Their salsa is great that they serve with chips when you sit down. I’ve had the chile verde burrito, enchiladas, tacos, and tamales. All are excellent. Looking forward to grabbing breakfast from here soon.

Unilocal was effective once again — it helped me find this hidden gem one day when the coworkers were craving something different for lunch. It’s tucked away in a strip mall by Enterprise Rent a Car so make sure to pay attention as you’re driving down Sunrise Blvd. It’s a family owned(obviously from the name) hole in wall and they know how to cook. I tried the tamale lunch special with a chile relleno a la carte. Everything was tasty and flavorful, even the refried beans which are usually an afterthought. The chile relleno was on the soggy side, but maybe it was because it sat in a box on the way back to the office. The staff was also very friendly. The only downside is that the portion sizes are a bit small in comparison to the prices… I wanted a little more after finishing my lunch plate and the added chile relleno. However, I will be back considering how good everything tasted.

Probably the BEST Mexican food EVER!!! The tamales with sauce here are to die for and the enchiladas and the Shrimp cocktail! The service is the best! It’s like a family restaurant so it’s the mother Who usually assists everyone and her daughter and son take orders. Whenever my office calls in orders we get discounted prices and also they are super fast ready in 10min! Super excellent!!!
