This is my favorite«special occasion» restaurant. Birthday, anniversary, hell, just about any excuse! The fried rice is garlicky(is that a word?!) and delicious, I always get an extra one to take home and eat the next day. I don’t like the sprouts, but I’m not taking any stars away for that — I just don’t like sprouts, that’s all. I’m not a drinker, but they sure had a lot of fun looking and exotic cocktails on the menu. The scallops are always fresh, and the chicken teriyaki is also tender and never tough or overcooked like chicken can get so quickly after landing on your plate. I am looking at the calendar trying to figure out an upcoming reason to go back — is my birthday really four months away? Oh man.

Upon arriving the wait was short, which was good because we had reservations. We got to our«table»(around the grill) and selected two places based on the fact that one of us is disabled. After we were settled the hostess tried to get us to move so that she could put people in the corner spot. We didn’t want to move because of the disability. There was a look of «OMG» on her face and she left. We spoke with the waitress who took our orders. She was cheerful, polite and helpful. We were a little nervous about the people next to us, who were a little loud and young. But they turned out to be a lot of fun, including us in their joking around in a very friendly way. Our chef was less than we hoped for. Our shrimp appetizer was overcooked and dry. My shrimp and scallop entrée was overcooked and dry. His jokes were worn out. He had been there way too long with the same old jokes to even think them funny himself. All in all it was overpriced and the best things about the evening were the fun young people and the desert. We won’t be back.

What a great night your chef Johnny was awesome. so quick humor and of course his knife skills… We had a great bday celebration… my only complaint was I researched and call regarding allergies&special needs… that went fine but I was also told the current happy hour menu online was accurate. so I had researched for 6 people we ALL knew what we wanted and how to order… We got there and I’m on fixed income so my $ 17 and craving all week dinner was not even on any menu even full price one… So it took all of us a bit of time to decide what we wanted… I’m the only one who was so sad bcuz budget no allergies my craving was left incomplete… The food was great but not any was what I was planning a week to order. Of course everyone at table was fine and also could afford anything they want… I paid $ 25 for dinner which totally way off my desired order… don’t get me wrong it was 5 star all around food and service. but when your suddenly a person on a budget little things make you happy and then BAM someone has changed everything you wanted… I kinda felt like I paid full price but got half of what ordered because everyone else’s special orders. Maybe mine should have been done in back so could get all vegis and meat I specifically wanted…

We have been eating in this place since 1978 and its still the same quality and consistency. We know most of the people that have also been on board since the beginning. Julian is so accommodating and Hector in the bar are just a few of great people that work there. You will love everything they offer. We have tried most of it and still after all this time is our favorite eatery in the entire desert.

The best always. Ask your server to be Hide or Jonny. Get the green tea ice cream! If you come before 6pm the early birds are just as good but cheaper.

I have been coming to this Kobe’s for over 15 years now. So, I guess I may be a little biased. The place has not changed much, it needs a little renovating to keep up with the times. The food is good and of course, the entertainment is always fun. The portions are a good size. I typically get the filet mignon and typically can’t even finish it. They do have a drink called the Lava Flow, which is a great tropical alcoholic beverage. I suggest everyone has one in their life. Overall this place is way better than Habachi, which is the same thing, but horrible. I can honestly say this is a monthly event.

Bland food. The rice wasn’t what I’ve had at these hibachi places before, instead this tasted like takeout. Too many mushrooms and bean spouts(which are flavorless) They sang the same happy birthday about 6 times in a row to different tables, which got annoying The chef screwed up everyone’s order as well, the people in our pod got pissed because it happened to them so many times.

Justin Bieber, Paris Hilton, President Gerald Ford, LA Lakers, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Frank Sinatra… the list of celebrities that has eaten here goes on and on. Since 1978 Kobe steak house has fed many locals and celebrities with one of the finest Japanese foods. Last time I came here was for my best friends birthday, the parking was valet so very nice from the start. The outside had the authentic Japanese building style with a koi pond and garden. I do wish they kept the building two stories though, the recent renovations made the building just a single floor. Our chef was chef Hata, he is a Japanese chef that worked here for a very long time. I swear the hardest thing to do around the valley is find an authentic Japanese teppanyaki chef. He was very entertaining! I ordered the steak and lobster! Definitely will be coming back for the years to come. PS, I love the green tea ice cream that comes along the end of every meal. I here the sushi is good here as well but I have yet to try it.

Great night at Kobe’s tonight. We haven’t been here in years. It was a pleasant surprise to see that they remodeled. I especially liked The choice of fried rice, traditional, garlic, and spicy. I’m a bit surprised how many people they place at each table. You barely have room to use your arms to eat. As tonight, a school night, it was Very packed with kids. Every table was full even though it was pass 6:30PM. Another noticeable change was the price increase. Small but noticeable. I still will be back as I enjoyed my meal, and our chef was fun.

Eh! I’ve had better Japanese hibachi. I asked if they had soju when we sat down and our waitress informed me they didn’t so we settled for a bottle of sake. Upon opening the bottle of sake, she let me know that they did have soju. I would’ve liked to know this before the bottle of sake was opened for us. The fried rice was lacking in flavor and the chicken wasn’t anything special. I liked my filet mignon and the soup. We had a fun experience as our chef was interactive and funny and we sat with another couple who were on their honeymoon, however, I wouldn’t return.

I want to give this place a better review but the prices are way to expensive for the amout of food. Quality is good and the restaurant is beautiful. It has great fish pond… the décor will make you feel as if your in Japan. Service is good as well. I ordered the filet mignon that was 39.00 dollars. New York steak was 36 dollars. They all come with grilled vegetables and 3 small diced pieces of shrimp also you get steamed rice but if you want fried add another 4.00 bucks. We went on 4th of July and I must say it was very fun and enjoyable.

HORRIBLE experience. We had reservations for 815, and we didn’t sit until 9 o clock. That’s a 45 minute wait for reservations. As we were waiting, the hostesses proved helpless and seemed like happened often. They let us know the manager would«take care of us» as soon as we get seated. Once we get seated, the manager comes and gives a weak apology with no intention to rectify the situation. She just gave us all some old tempura. We didn’t even want tempura, she just put the fried crap in front us. The food was all burnt and over priced anyways. 12 dollars to split the food? Jeez Just stay away if you appreciate your time, money, and tastebuds.

I’ve only been here for sushi and every time I’ve been happy. The food is just as important as the company and Reese the sushi chef is awesome!!! Super chill, prepares your food with precision and always has great suggestions. Just let him choose a dish and you’re good to go. When you want a super chill environment, go on a Monday.

At first I thought this was a chain that has an outpost where I live, which scared me a little because no one I know who has been there has liked it. What I think, though, is that there are a lot of similar restaurants named Kobe, because this one was fine. I appreciated that the gentleman at the grill seemed to pick up on the mood of the group — there were only seven of us at the table, and so he didn’t get super showy. He performed all the usual tricks — onion volcano, flying shrimp — without overdoing it. We had a sushi roll before we started, which was also very good. We were there pretty early, so we were able to take advantage of some early bird pricing, making this a great value.

We went here on a double date on 2÷27÷14. The atmosphere is perfect for that type of gathering, with the enthusiastic chefs and traditionally dressed waitresses. Food: I ordered the Emperor Steak and my husband ordered the Steak & Chicken. Both came with miso soup, a few shrimp, vegetables, rice(he got spicy fried rice which was great), and orange sherbet. My steak was cooked over than the requested rare but it was still good. The veggies were mainly mushrooms, more variety would have been nice. Service: Our waitress Mimi was nice, a bit soft-spoken for such a loud place though. Jose our chef was nice too, not as animated as the other chefs, but we only had 4 people at our table and not a full group. Drinks: We got a few Sapporos, Scotch, and I ordered a specialty shot(Japanese Viagra) which was awesome! Overall, the evening was great and a nice night with friends. It’s a bit pricey for just a casual evening out but I would visit again.

Pleasantly surprised is all I can say. I’ve had my share of Benihana type restaurants and I must say this place beats then all! We arrived on a Sunday night at 615 we pulled up to free valet which was nice. The lot was quite full with cars which is a good sign especially in September. Walking up to the front door there is a wonderful koi pond with a lot of koi I mean like 50 or so. Jim told me the same people who built there koi pond built ours. There’s being much larger. We walked in And were greeted with smiles from 2 hostesses I gave then our name and the one said it will be a couple of minutes would you like to wait in the bar So we went to the bar and sat. The girl tending bar asked us how we were and if we would like a drink while we were waiting. She was very friendly and we started to talk about the restaurant, the area in general. We were told it has been there for 30 some years. And even off season The place is still quite busty. She said a lot of locals come. Which is very cool. So we both had vodka martinis and we were then paged to our table. Bar tab $ 18 which isn’t too bad price wise. We sat at the end 2 seats at the Teppanyaki. There were quite a few people in The place. A server stopped by and asked if we were ok on drinks and asked if we would like an appetizer. We ordered a jalapeño hamachi dish. It arrived fairly quickly and it was quite good I must say a nice amount of hamachi with yuzu soy. Another 5 people sat down at our table and Mark our chef came over. Mark is an older man very Japanese and he was quite good. Very friendly and funny. He put on a good show of knife skills and such. I had the tiger prawns and garlic and spicy fried rice which was very good Jim had steak and chicken teriyaki which was also wonderful. Both meals were very good and I wasn’t hungry like I usually am when I’m eating at this type of place. I can defiantly recommend Kobe
