I got married nearby at the Wayfarers Chapel on October 3, 2015. My reception was at Palos Verdes Art Center. Everything was PERFECT. Location/Parking: Beautiful. We weren’t able to book the art gallery but we didn’t have too many guests(about 120) so it was just fine. Guests parked in the street and the parking lot. Service: Blythe. was. AWESOME. Seriously. When we were having trouble with the catering(we wanted traditional Korean food but the exclusive catering service contracted with PVAC weren’t able to make it so it become this whole jumbled mess of how we were going to have both American and Korean food and we were having trouble contacting the caterer), Blythe offered multiple times to contact the caterer herself(and did so!). She was so friendly and accommodating, she really seemed to care about our reception going well. My husband and I went to PVAC twice before the reception to speak with her about the event(and to pay, of course) and she answered all questions with ease and comfort. She also makes some of the items sold at the gallery(I really need to go back and purchase one)! She responded to texts, picked up all our phone calls — she made booking PVAC for our reception a breeze. She was just so awesome, I literally could go on forever about how awesome she was! Cost: We had a pretty small budget to start and we definitely went over(not because of PVAC) but having our reception at PVAC definitely helped keep our costs down. Bottom line: If you’re getting married and you’re looking for a place for your ceremony/reception, definitely consider PVAC for it! It’s beautiful, they’re helpful and they’re affordable!

I recently got engaged at the Palos Verdes Art Center. The facility was absolutely amazing and accommodated all of our friends and family comfortably. The art gallery allowed my fiancé to have our photos printed at the facility and placed all over the gallery. The ability to have separate areas in the gallery, inside and out provided enough space for everyone to mingle. The staff were extremely helpful, the food catered by the gallery was delicious. The event coordinator, Danica went out of her way to ensure that this event was spectacular. Thank you Palos Verdes Art Gallery for making my day extra special.

The Palos Verdes Art Center, is a nonprofit community visual arts gallery and school, «inspires individuals to celebrate, appreciate and create art.» Since 1931, when it was founded as a cultural arm of the planned community of Palos Verdes Estates, the Art Center’s exhibition, education and outreach programs have made the visual arts available, accessible and affordable. I came last weekend to see a piece of art that my daughter completed for a 6th grade art project, the art center was featuring grade school art from around the Palos Verdes Peninsula. It was my first visit since they have completely refurbished the location, it’s REALLYNICE! The Palos Verdes Art Center provides an economically and ethnically diverse community with: *Free art exhibition *Studio art classes for all ages and skill levels in drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture, digital art, art history, photography, printmaking and wearable art. *Awards and scholarships. In its 12 years, the Beverly G. Alpay Memorial Education Fund has given more than $ 112,000 to students and artists. *Art experiences for differently-abled youth and adults. *School-based art education for more than 8,000 Palos Verdes Peninsula students each year through Art at Your Fingertips and Partners in Art. *Standards-based art programs for schools through artist-taught workshops, artists residencies and exhibition tours. *Attractive rental space for weddings, parties and meetings and creative children’s birthday parties. *Opportunities to volunteer and to network with other artists. If you are interesting in finding your inner artist, the PV Art Center can help. My kids love it here, but it’s good for artists of all ages. They also have a store where you can see local artists that are being featured, and frequently paintings that feature local landscapes.
