Gabrielle Elizabeth Hair Artistry

I’ve been in RSM for just about a year now, and it’s been difficult finding a new stylist here. I’ve been to a couple of places and haven’t found the right fit for me yet. I just had my first haircut with Gabrielle. She was able to take me in right away on short notice which is always a plus in my book. Her studio is warm and comfortable. She takes an active interest in giving you exactly what you want — asking to make sure length and style are correct as she goes to make sure that you’re going to love what you get when she’s done. Her personality is sweet and conversation with her is easy going. I’ve just walked out with one of the better cuts I’ve had in a very long time. I love it! She’s got an amazing talent with hair and I can say she’s an asset to the craft. This may have been my first cut with her, but I look forward to having her become my stylist from here on out! If you’re looking around for your next cut/​color, I cannot recommend her enough.

I’ve been going to Gabrielle since my first appointment with her, 5 years ago. I live in Venice and I make the drive to see her because I don’t trust anyone else with my hair. She listens to what I want, and I’m always, always happy when I leave! :)

Gabrielle is a warm and skilled stylist who will give you whatever you ask for and let you know if it doesn’t compliment you, but with grace. She also keeps herself abreast of the latest hair trends as well.

Gabrielle does the best Brazilian Blow Out in Orange County!!! It lasts a really long time, she is a perfectionist, and her price is right. The ventilation is wonderful in her suite, that can be the worst part of the Brazilian. 10 Stars!!!

I have been going to Gabrielle for a couple of years for hair color. Gabrielle is great. She is flexible with me for times that work with my schedule, is always on time and does a thorough, meticulous job. I have always found her to be interesting and fun to chat with; isn’t that why we go to the beauty shop? I would recommend giving Gabrielle a try if you are in the RSM area.

Sitting for this haircut/​blowdry was the worst hour and a half I’ve experienced in quite awhile. I could not wait to get out of there! It’s a shame because her hairstyling skills aren’t bad. Definitely not the best haircut I’ve had, but certainly not the worst either. The real problem was with how personal she got with me. She began by asking me about my life and what I do, normal conversation stuff. I told her I’m not currently working and living with my boyfriend of 6 years. She immediately became super judgmental and told me how wrong that was and how I need to get married or get out. She then basically told me I need to «find Jesus» and how Christianity was the only way. I told her I am spiritual but stray away from organized religion and that I have my own way of connecting. really trying to divert the conversation without offending her (as she had scissors and my hair in her hands). But she continued to push and it quickly became really uncomfortable. I have friends who are religious and I’ve never had anyone be so judgmental and pushy. Keep in mind, I was a CLIENT! Paying her good money for her services, not her advice. This was no place for such a conversation and I was so appalled at the audacity she had to go there with me. She kept telling me I need to go to her church (Saddleback) because I have so much free time since I «do nothing with my life». I just really couldn’t handle being in there for another second. I will never go back. Oh and as far as the haircut went, I told her I really just wanted a trim, half an inch. She told me my split ends are really bad and to go for an inch. I agreed. After she cut, she told me «So I decided to trim off an inch and a half. you needed it» Not a huge deal, but not cool. She also made fun of me for not wanting any layers in my hair. She told me I have a little girl’s haircut and I should really consider a style. It was just bad news all around. I feel bad leaving such a harsh review but after that experience, I just had to.
