Ciopinno was tops. Good service. Nice people. Other(salmon and Mac and cheese) dishes were pretty good.

Melissa, did a great job serving. She misunderstood what I requested for a drink and ended up with scotch and soda water instead of scotch and coke, understandable being new years eve she more than made up for it. Karen the owner saw that I was standing and rocking a baby and asked to hold her, keep in mind my 7 month old cries when someone else holds her that she doesn’t know, but was oddly happy for this stranger and i was able to eat. My other two children like most, like simple meals, Karen/Melissa were able to hook them up with Mac and Cheese when it was not on the 3 course New Years Eve Menu. Now, I dislike seafood and stole a piece of my wife’s second course, which was some sort of salad with anchovies which she loved and me not so much. But I had a Lobster and again I don’t like seafood but I loved this one it was a lobster with a steak, very much enjoyable; steak cooked perfectly to my liking. Every menu item has a gluten free option which is fantastic for this area. Thank you for a wonderful time!

This place was fantastic. We had tuna tartar appetizer, lamb & hangar steak entrees, and bread pudding dessert. Everything from the mains to the side dishes to the bottle of wine(Tempranillo) to the special apple cider cocktail was delicious. The service was relaxed but not slow. This place is a gem.

Nice atmosphere. Friendly service– both the bartender and the waitress. Allagash on tap for $ 3– can’t beat that! Molasses bread balls served before dinner were not very tasty. Ordered their chicken dish and my husband ordered scallops. The scallops were amazing. The sauce and mashed potatoes with my chicken were great– as long as you like bacon! I would probably order the scallops next time. We shared the bread pudding. It has chocolate chips in it. I would not get that again-but I am a bread pudding snob. Would definitely come back.

It’s easy to rave about a place when there’s little competition. Kind of a big fish in small pond review, ya know?! Rangeley is a wonderfully beautiful lake-mountain community that has a small quaint village but few quality food choices and this is the best IMO. I started with mussels in beer, onions and almonds(wha??). I drank the broth! Enter was a shrimp sausage spinach beauty on fried polenta. It sold out within an hour of opening. I topped it off with an awarding winning bread pudding and chocolate chip dessert

Its late and I’m tired so here’s the short version: I’m a San Fransisco Foodie and this is the only Rangeley restaurant that would survive in Foodie-ville. Go here. Its awesome. Decent wine menu, good service. Just go here. Its awesome.

Hands in the air for Forks in the Air! Loved this place! Great Atmosphere, and cool décor! We got a great table with a great view of Haley pond. For Drinks… I ordered a margarita… was very strong but tasted great! We got the calamari and mac and cheese for starters… both were delicious! The Mac and cheese was awesome and so creamy! They even offer lobster, or chicken for add ons. Great Menu… The hangar steak my fiancé ordered was fabulous, and very tender… cooked perfect! I got the steak sandwich and it was delicious as well cooked perfect and very tender steak plus… the fries were delicious. My sister in law to be received the wrong meal but it was quickly fixed… great service! Finished with my favorite… bread pudding. It was awesome… texture was soft warm, and had melted chocolate chips mmmm can’t wait too go back!

Wish I could give a glowing review for this place-as I don’t want to hurt anyone’s business. But, I dare say this was one of the worst meals out that I’ve had in a very long time. Our meal started out okay-I started with the Forks salad-a bit over dressed and unexciting. But, the lettuce was fresh. My husband was pretty happy with his truffle fries with sriracha ketchup. For the entrée I had the monkfish, sausage and potato stew. And my husband had the crispy quail with cornbread stuffing. When my dish came to table I was hit with a very«fishy» smell-not at all pleasant. The monkfish was in bits that were so over cooked and tough they were inedible, the potatoes were underdone and the sausage looked like giant worms, and had a very sinewy texture. And it seemed like they just dumped a can of tomatoes over the top. I guess there was supposed to be some fennel in this as well-but couldn’t tell. It was underseasoned and just a hot mess. My husband’s meal wasn’t much better-nothing seemed fesh-and it was really dry and odd. The stuffing was really like a sweet cake with some dried cranberries and sausage. The quail was fairly overdone ans salty and there was some very underdone kale and a side of root vegetables that were very small and blackened. It was all very, very dry and unappealing. The reason I feel compelled to write a review of this restaurant is it kind of pricey($ 25& $ 27plates and up) and the folks who run it seem to think the food is good. Our waitress was so surprised that I disliked my meal she didn’t know what to do. To her credit she did get my meal taken off our bill and offered to have something else made for me for free. I declined. I didn’t want anything else. Also, just our taste, but I couldn’t take the Dave Mathews playset playing in the very upfront background. Oh-it was really bad.

My boyfriend and I vacationed in Rangeley this past week and were very excited to give this restaurant a try. My parents had been in the week before and loved it so they bought us a gift certificate. The restaurants cozy atmosphere was just what we were looking for. They let us pick out our table so we chose the corner booth that looked out at the street. Tracy gave us perfect service and made great menu suggestions. We got a bottle of the Malbec which I think was priced around $ 35. My spinach salad came with this unique cranberry dressing which complimented perfect with the pistachios on it. My boyfriend ordered the French Onion soup that came with a tasty thick broth that almost looked like a light gravy. So tasty! He ordered the pumpkin risotto with scallops while I had the braised lamb bolognese. Both were fabulous! Although stuffed we couldn’t say no to the pumpkin crème brûlée at the end of the night! It was a great dining experience! We were so happy with the service we stopped in two nights later and had coffee drinks at the bar with Don the bartender. We were remembered by our first names and welcomed back. This restaurant is a shining example of how service should be everywhere. We will be back next time we are in town!

Best place to eat in Rangeley! Forks in the Air provides classic meals in a comfortable setting. Although from out of town, the hostess made us feel like old neighbors! Good wine selection with healthy pours. The food was obviously made from fresh ingredients and everything was carefully prepared and plated with beautiful presentation. I had a delicious, thick cut pork chop with peach glaze, baked beans, and corn bread. It was comfort food taken to the next level. Thanks for a great meal during that helped make relaxing vacation even better!

My husband and I ate at Forks in the Air for dinner in late October 2013. There isn’t a lot of seating in this restaurant but the atmosphere is very nice and cozy. I had a delicious pumpkin ale that I would highly recommend. My husband had the Caesar salad(ask for no anchovies if you don’t want them) and the roasted wild mushrooms. I had the house made gnocchi with pumpkin alfredo and roasted butternut squash. Everything was amazing! We got flatbread takeout the next night and it was pretty good too. I would definitely visit again.

The food is average but service is exceptional. We ordered the shrimp and the haddock, which were fine but not for the price. But the bread pudding dessert was outstanding, as was the service. Both owners came out to apologize because we had waited a while for our entrees, and then comped our desserts.

I’ve started spending time in Rangeley over the last two years, and Forks in the Air is a much-needed addition to the town’s dining scene! They have great food and a strong wine list in addition to servers who know what they are doing and are invested in your having a great dining experience. Over Labor Day my fiancé and I were in for the second time this season, and had the fried calamari, white bean dip, caesar salad, tiger shrimp with fettuccine, duck confit, and white chocolate bread pudding in addition to an excellent bottle of Orin Swift wine. Everything was delicious, with the duck confit being a particular highlight. If you are eating out once during your Rangeley trip, this is the place!

I spend a lot of time in Rangeley each summer and it seems that things are constantly changing. This restaurant was one of the more recent changes this year and it was a pleasant surprise. I had the corn chowder, pork tenderloins and a cupcake. The chowder and pork were both delicious. I figured the dessert would have to be good because the rest of meal was great, but it was actually disappointing. It won’t stop me from going back, but I probably would walk over to Pine Tree Frosty for dessert instead. I should mention they had a nice wine and beer list, as well as other cocktails. Also, the service was very good. This might be the nicest place in town to get dinner. It’s not too fancy, but the quality was great. I really hope this place lasts.
