Have always had an acceptable meal and good service. We have some younger grandchildren and they are always accommodating when we bring them in. Parking can sometimes be a challenge.

Murphy’s was a pleasant surprise to walk into! Cool atmosphere, great beer selection, amazing food and service! Everything we ordered was mouth watering. I enjoyed the buffalo meatloaf, it was incredible! Adam was so friendly and helpful while he made sure we were takin care of. He then informed us of a Speak Easy downstairs named, The Blind Lion. Going back tonight with our reservation to go check it out!

I have actually been here numerous times since my first review. It is a lot better then it was when they first opened. Love their chicken and chips and beer cheese soup.

Service was a little slower than I like, especially in a bar setting. But the food was great. I had one of the best Shepard pies I’ve ever had. Definitely will go back when we are in town. Fantastic setting and atmosphere as well.

The Murphy burger was excellent, though the sweet potato fries weren’t the best. I sat at the bar and had great, speedy service and enjoyed my drinks. Worth checking out for sure!

A little upscale, good rotating tap selection. Stopped in for a brief stopover, knuckle head red was good, beer samples on request, nice Alaskan fish sliders. Thanks Roger! Make sure you feed the meter!

Always consistent. Great food, drinks and even a speakeasy downstairs(requires code). It also has an awesome outdoor seating area. If you are in town for only one night and want good food and drinks, I definitely recommend you go here. Other recommendations: Ale House or Delmonico. The owners of Murphy’s also own Kol down the street, Murphy’s has better food, drinks, and servers hands down.

Wow, what a nice surprise. Adam our server was the most pleasant customer service experience I’ve had here in Rapid City. We dined on the patio with all three of our fur babies who were greeted as sweetly as we were. Our drinks were brought along with A bowl of water for them. Our food was excellent, I had the grown up grilled cheese, perfect combo of cheeses, fresh tomato, and yummy bread. The macaroni and cheese was so succulent and filling. The salmon was cooked perfectly. ups. Don’t miss trying out this gem.

Great location. Was passing through town & looking for a good place for lunch. Saw great reviews on Unilocal for Murphy’s– so we decided to give it a try. Atmosphere was great– clean & friendly. We sat outside because the weather was nice. Waiter was friendly & made great recommendations & even let us try the bean salad. Reuben sandwich– black marble rye bread was wonderful. Sandwich was excellent. Sweet potato fries were fried to perfection. Pulled-pork sandwich with watermelon bbq sauce– had a sweet sauce, but not overpowering. Did not have any taste of watermelon. Waiter recommended cranberry coleslaw– EXCELLENT! Beer was good… Good variety.

In our travels across S. Dakota we found many places that were over-marketed, then under delivered. This place was the exact opposite of that! The place is such a gem in downtown and although not hard to find– a great place we happened upon. The inside area are clean and open and the outside patio was lovely with the lights hanging and 2 fire pits. We came with 2 kids and found they were patience and ready for kids with a kids menu and even asparagus on the kids menu! A real treat since we had been eating on the road for a week! I had the potato and steak salad and my husband had the adult grilled cheese and soup. All were delicious. Even my son thought the hot dog was best ever. The staff was quick and helpful with beer recommendations. It was a top-notch experience.

This place serves amazing food and has very wonderful bartenders. I want to give a shout out to Bob Villa who is a wonderful man of service. He outshines many bartenders I know and is a superb employee to Murphy’s. Overall this place rocks and serves amazing food!

This is one of my go to spots when I’m looking for a great meal, excellent atmosphere and tasty drinks! I have been here more times then I am able to count so I am not going to give a review of one specific time but as a general informative review. I have tried multiple dishes here but the strawberry salad with grilled chicken has to be my favorite! I just love the freshness of this salad. There has never been a time I’ve had this dish that I was disappointed. Service is always pretty great. Servers are attentive and knowledgeable. I also enjoy that they all seem to have a pretty great sense of humor which is a huge plus for me. Overall been here 20 times will go back 40 more! When you find gems like these you don’t keep them hidden! You make sure you share their beauty for all to see!

We spent the night in Rapid City on our way to Mount Rushmore. By the time we got here, we were famished and settled in to a comfy booth with a menu as long as your leg. Adam wins the trophy for«Best All Around Nice I Mean Really Nice» server. I don’t think he has a mean or annoyed bone in his body and he provided great recommendations for dinner. The food is delicious and beautifully presented. A fantastic Duck Confit salad stole my heart! The décor is Mod Pub. Modern with a twist of Beer Pub. We drove a few blocks for homemade ice cream, a local and cute little placed recommended by Adam. Great overall experience.

Nice find. Surprising interior based on exterior of building. Went here for lunch. Nice creative choices on the menu. Watermelon on a burger? Yup. Nice variety of options. Food served hot. Friendly service. Quality food. If you live here or are visiting make this a must do.

The place has pretty nice décor and quite friendly staff. It was packed on a saturday night and the chairs are sweet(rotating chairs), they had a full bar and huge array of beers. We ordered the strawberry habanero wings and the french fries as appetizers. The wings were ok but fries were soggy, not crisp; I got the shepher pie which was pretty good, but there was soo much mashed potato and soo less of the pie and gravy, wish there was better balance between two.

We were traveling to see Mount Rushmore leisurely and found this place surprisingly pleasant while strolling through downtown for dinner. Murphy’s looks like a expensive restaurant judging from its décor, but the price was very affordable. Enjoyed the outdoor seating at warm night. The food was great, the special dish scallop was well cooked with season, the drinks were delicious. Although I thought my shepherds pie was a little too gamey. We had the raspberry cocktail and some beers. Coming from NYC, customer service here was amazing! Highly recommend this place if you are in the area.

2 Portland foodies, on a Mother-Daughter road trip, making our way across country back home to Oregon, who decided to stop in to this gem! Loved the neat old restored building and the super friendly and knowledgable service. Sat in a comfy set of chairs by the fireplace and enjoyed the fried pickles on the happy hour menu — definitely a must have :) We are trying out a gluten free thing lately so we each ordered the gluten free burger and chicken burger with lettuce, roasted red pepper, goat cheese and portabella caps, which were so yummy and totally hit the spot! The spicy tomato soup was just what I was craving too. The wine on happy hour is great and a wonderful deal. Thank goodness for some delicious food and a relaxing break from the car finally after a long string of culinary-challenged cities!

This place is great. The atmosphere is very cool with exposed brick walls, hardwood floors, and exposed wood ceiling and modern lighting. The staff is young but very modern(especially for South Dakota). They are respectful and knowledgeable about their product. We came for lunch. We shared the Duck Confit appetizer Chips and a Smoked Turkey sandwich with avocado aoli. The duck confit was mild in flavor, but it was all well balanced and the apples were amazing with a hint of cinnamon. The Turkey sandwich was great with fresh bread and wonderfully balanced flavors. It had sundried tomatoes, but they didn’t over power the sandwich because they were blended with some citrus. We also ordered the sweet potato fries and I would bet they are hand crafted in house, not frozen from a bag. They even offered us some maple bacon butter to eat with them. We also had our 6 year old with us. He very much enjoyed his cheeseburger and fries. We also ordered him a cup of fresh fruit which was freshly hand cut. Don’t miss this gem when you come to visit Mount Rushmore.

Stopped by for happy hour while I was in town. Murphy’s is a really nice space. There is inside and outside seating and bars inside and outside. There is plenty of bar seating, table seating, tvs, etc. There is also a shuffleboard table and a pool table, I didn’t use either one, but it would be fun if you were there for a group. Happy hour had good drink prices(the price varied, but call if you need details) and there were appetizers that were also on happy hour specials. The crowd was mixed with all different ages and was generally friendly. Definitely a good place to stop by for a drink and or food. It was only a few blocks from my hotel. The bartenders were helpful with advice on beer selection. Sorry that this review has no flow. Oh, TVs in the bathroom!!! Awesome touch!

My brother and I rolled in here for dinner a few weeks ago. We were there on a Wednesday night. I have no idea if this is a cool night spot but it had the set up for it. It just didn’t have the people for it, not that night at least. That’s all fine with me, I was there for dinner. Didn’t you see that I just said that? Why are you not paying attention to me? We sat at the bar and had a few drinks while our food came out. The bartender was a really cool guy and if he reads this I know that he is less of a cool guy because he is reading Unilocal reviews of his workplace and most people don’t do that. But, I won’t judge. His name was Ryan. Yes. I am calling him out by name! Why? Why not. I remember his name and he was awesome. Not only did he recommend some good food options but he gave us some great tips on things to do in the area the next day. We were going to go to the Badlands and he kinda poo-pooed that entirely and suggested we go up to some lake instead. Well dude, we did both. And I’m glad we did. So, thank you. Also, I am realizing that I was here for a few hours but I never went to the bathroom. That is kind of weird to me. Oh well.
