I have no idea how this place got so many stars. The service was fast enough, but incredibly unfriendly and unwelcoming. The chips were mediocre, and we were charged extra when we asked for more. The ambiance was bad, uninteresting and dingy. The food. The food was downright horrible. The beans were severely lacking salt, the guacamole and cebollitas were ok. But the real flush was the meat. We had 3 different meats, al pastor, carne asada, and chorizo. They had NOFLAVOR. The pastor tasted like fatty, unflavored pork, the asada tasted like beef with a little salt, and the chorizo was bland. I had sopes. The sopes were plain old fried tortillas, not the dense luscious corn cakes they are supposed to be. Fail. All in all. Service: bad. Ambiance: bad. Food: TERRIBLE. Craving Mexican food? Go home and make yourself some tacos. They will taste far better than this place.

This place is unreal. Chips and salsa to start is the way to my heart but three salsas that I swear get spicier every time I go is just perfection. Probably the best chorizo I’ve ever had, but every meat I’ve had is excellent. Cannot recommend it enough for a quick lunch or for dinner. They recently took over the space next door and have a full bar, sangria and nice happy hour specials. Great staff as well.

Love this place and everything about it! The food is phenomenal and the drinks are even better! I usually get the tacos and my husband gets the fajitas or the Italian that they offer. Delicious and consistently great! our go to for Mexican food when we’re in the mood!

Food was very tasty, not traditional Mexican. Carnitas were delicious, very nice, simple atmosphere.

We had only gotten takeout before but finally got to go in and check out the expanded dining room and bar. Awesome! The dining room is brightly decorated and clean with friendly, welcoming and attentive service. We had chorizo tostadas and beef tacos, both legit Mexican cooking and delicious. Fresh, well seasoned and generously portioned. The bar is a horseshoe shape with two TVs at either end. Happy Hour specials included $ 4.50 margaritas and $ 3.50 beers. Will definitely be back regularly!

Check it! Great tacos and drinks that compliment the food. Drink and be happy. Excellent staff and ambience. The atmosphere has great music playing in the background. Burritos and Mexican dishes are delicious! Definitely a hidden gem in Somerset county.

This was a nice surprise! I’ve passed by this place hundreds of times and never thought to go in. We wanted to go to a Mexican restaurant so used Unilocal to find info on the one we were interested in going. We found that Acapulco had much higher reviews than the one we wanted and they were flexible for a reservation. Well, we will be going back. The food was excellent. We had guacamole, which was excellent and inexpensive, the fried calamari was tender and tasty, and for my main meal I had a mixed fajita, which was delicious.

Last night my boyfriend and I wanted to try food around the bridgewater area. I looked up restaurants and stumbled upon Acapulco. Its located in Raritan, but only a few minutes from the bridgewater mall. The reviews are pretty high and the food looked amazing, so we decided to eat there. The restaurant feels very authentic with its decorations! I ordered tostadas(came in 3’s) and was able to choose different meats for each tostada. I had spicy chicken, marinated pork and the bistec with a side of rice and beans. I probably shouldn’t have ordered the rice and beans bc I got pretty full from the tostadas alone but the sides were super yummy. I also tried the hibiscus water which was refreshing! Looking forward to horchata next time(they ran out!) Overall, it was affordable and delicious! I’d definitely recommend it to anyone in the area. They also have a full bar which is a great plus.

I genuinely don’t know how this place has 4.5 stars. We went for dinner last night and it was honestly one of the worst restaurant meals I’ve ever had. All of the food tasted the same and very bland; the burritos were filled with more rice then meat, the nachos were filled with more beans then meat, the quesadillas came out covered in onions and cilantro(for kids) instead of meat and cheese… We ordered a drink that was a house specialty, and compared to a piña colada– and it was disgusting and included chewy meat sticks and tobasco-covered pineapple. We sent that back. Our server was new, but very friendly– this was not a waitress problem. Will not be going back here. Thoroughly disappointed.

5 for guacamole, 4.5 for chips, 3 for burrito. I came in for lunch and was in a hurry, and managed to get my food within 10 minutes of ordering which was great. If you eat in the restaurant, you get chips with 3 salsas right after ordering. I liked the green and brown salsas, which were a little sweeter, but didn’t like the pink, which was smoky. The chips themselves weren’t oily and were crunchy which was nice. They also didn’t have much salt on them. For my meal I ordered a chicken burrito, which came with more chips, guac, and pico de gallo. The guacamole was great, and it tasted less like onions than other varieties I’ve had which is good for me. The pico is different from other varieties in that it’s more liquidy, but I actually liked it more than others I’ve had. The burrito was kind of plain tasting to me, specifically the rice and chicken, although it was large. Overall, giving 4 stars mainly due to the guacamole and chips. Will have to try other meal items next visit!

My wife and I recently stumbled on this place. We’ve been there three times in the last month alone! I strongly recommend their tacos and tostadas. The ambiance is really fun on Friday nights when they have a band playing.

So this place has been a couple different Mexican restaurants over the years, but have to say I like this incarnation the best! They had a private party going when we got there so we had to eat at the bar. The food was fantastic, great guacamole and chips with 3 excellent sauces. I ordered a panzabos and it was great! Everything was flavored perfectly. Definitely going to be coming back as its a bit closer to home than los chilitos which is also excellent.

I am SO happy I found this place! If you’re looking for some authentic tacos, look no further. Within the last month, I’ve eaten here twice and ordered out once. Each time, I’ve been extremely satisfied with my meal. I definitely suggest dining in on the restaurant side. There’s a full bar with a unique drink menu and several tables that are colorfully decorated. The staff is friendly and will help make suggestions if you can’t decide what to order. Warm homemade chips and three different salsas are brought to the table before ordering. Each one has a distinct flavor with a varying level of spice, so you’re bound to find one you like. I also highly recommend ordering the guacamole. It has a great lime flavor and there’s some decent heat to it. It’s probably the best guacamole I’ve had at a restaurant, and it’s among the cheapest too! Each time I’ve gone, I’ve ordered the corn tortilla tacos. Cheap and delicious! My absolute favorite are the chorizo and Al Pastor. They come with onion and cilantro, but I always put a little bit of the salsa and guacamole on top for added flavor. Although I haven’t ventured out and tried anything else on the menu, I’ve heard the burritos are great and pack a lot of flavor as well. Last time I dined in, our waitress ended up forgetting to bring a few things to our table(a margarita pitcher, two tacos…) but honestly, I’m so in love with the food that I’m gonna let that slide and still give it the five star rating.

I absolutely adore this place, we get takeout from here at least once a week! The staff is so friendly, food is fresh and so delicious! I’ve had tacos, the chorizo appetizer, burritos, guac, salsa, beans, soaps, tons of other entrees and everything has been awesome. Plus, it’s inexpensive! I’ve tried a variety of the meats and prefer the pork but the beef, steak and chicken were really good as well! I Really hope they do well and stick around because I’m obsessed! Working my way through the entire menu!

a little pricy but absolutely delicious! did take out a couple times never really ate there because i am always in a rush, but will update my review once I dine in. The staff is nice when i order and pick up, so i cant say whether or not the service would differ. I doubt it would since everyone was pleasant the few times i ordered and picked up. However I love the beef enchiladas and the carnitas, ay dios mio delicious!!! you must try the torta Acapulcano simply delicioussss… i have found my official, autentico mecican restaurant, tucked away remotely in raritan, where it’s not too crowded and everything taste fresh!

Guacamole is PERFECT. Originally I was thinking about going to chipotle today because I was starving and looking for a cheap and quick option! But thought I’d try this hidden gem. I walked in and was immediately greeted by a young man who I asked for food suggestions because it was my first time. He recommended the sopas and guacamole which I went with. Right when I finished ordering a waitress brought me a huge basket of chips and three types of salsa all of which were amazing. When I tried the guac I was in heaven — I always struggle with chipotle’s guac that’s a little too smooth and without enough lime and jalapeño but this was better than when I make it to my own preference. Perfect amount of chunkiness, spiciness and tang. For sopas I went with al pastor, pollo and tinga all of which were amazing and loaded with meat. I typically don’t like a soft corn base but this was thick and substantial with a smooth layer of beans on it. I love Mexican food and this place is definitely authentic. Definitely worth a try and very reasonably priced

I tried this place after reading reviews. I was impressed with the colorful aesthetics, cleanliness, service, and the food!!! They make their corn tortillas and their salsas are fresh and tasty. I tried their sample platter. The quesadilla was my favorite! I kept thinking of the flavor all day. Def. returning!

I am such a picky eater when it comes to Mexican food so I’m always weary when I try new places. I can not believe how happy I am that we finally tried this place and so close to home. I got 4 tacos(Al Pastor, chorizo, asada and camaron) they all come on a sweet corn tortilla with cilantro and onions. They are completely authentic and full of flavor. Al Pastor and chorizo are my favorite ones. My husband had a carne asada burrito and he was blown away at how delicious it is. The guacamole is completely fresh and has a little kick to it. By far some of the best guacamole we’ve had even when I lived in Mexico. Their green salsa(salsa verde) has just the right amount of spiciness as to not take the flavor of the chilis away. Very satisfied and thrilled I finally found an authentic Mexican place! Will be coming back here for sure and recommend this place to anyone and the prices are great!

Solid Mexican spot in the Bridgewater area. The restaurant is tiny and located in a small strip with 2 or 3 other stores/restaurants with a small parking lot. The service was excellent — the lady who either owned the restaurant or running it was very nice and asked if we had any questions regarding the menu. There’s a good variety of latino sodas along with desserts by the front counter and close to 5 tables or so to dine. There was a party of 6 that arrived after us and the lady was nice enough to put some tables together for the party. I tried the burrito which was delicious — I wouldn’t say it was the best burrito I have ever had, but it was solid and I would go there again for it. My coworker had the chicken mole, which was served with rice and beans, and the mole sauce was quite good as well. When dining in, they bring chips and salsa to the table. The salsa verde(green salsa) was delicious! Flavorful and spicy! I will definitely be returning again for lunch but might try something different on their menu.
