Ambience: The restaurant is located right on the main road, and the entrance is to the right when looking at the building. It is a nice open layout, looks like it was a schoolhouse at one point. Cool artwork on the walls and nice layout of tables. Service: Fast and friendly. Drinks: Coffee was good. Food: EXCELLENT! French toast was great and the special of the day — frittata was great. Conclusion: Cool small place doing it right. Second Visit? Yes, if in the area again.

This is by far my favorite restaurant in the United States. That sounds like hyperbole but I’m endlessly shocked at how similar fine dining restaurants are. Typically they put a lot more into presentation than taste, or at least making the taste surprising or unusual. Another fork in the road doesn’t care much about appearance and the service can be downright slow, but the food consistently tastes wildly different than dishes you get another restaurants. You can’t put anything in your mouth without being surprised by taste and flavor combinations. It isn’t the traditionalist approach that dominates almost all the restaurants in the Hudson Valley.

Went for a brunch on Saturday morning. We were a party of 4 and the only other people there was a couple, both groups arrived at the same time. The young lady was new and took a little longer than we would have liked but being in the country side that seems like what to expect. I ordered a eggs Benedict with smoked salmon, however it came with pancetta. One other person in our party had a frittata, which they said was very good. Overall I give the food about a four stars. The Decour of the restaurant is quite nice it’s very rustic there are no frills and fuss, providing a homey atmosphere. I give the restaurant atmosphere and Decour a four star. The service and speed about it two stars. For the four of us lunch came up to under $ 40. Especially for the area it’s a great location and I will definitely be back.

No idea how this place is rated this high. Came here for lunch with some friends that we were meeting off the highway and was confused if we were walking into someones house that was not up-kept or a storage shed. The front door is very hard to open. For the few people that we witnessed come in or attempt to come in a few times, they couldn’t get in the place. The three staff members at the«bar» area always had their heads down so guests at other tables ended up helping most of the time. The place was freezing, they had no heat working and two small space heaters that would be good for maybe the 1920’s? The staff was not very friendly and it seemed like it was their first day on the job. We had to ask for waters, ask for multiple coffee refills as the cups hold about two sips and never looked out at the tables to see if people were in need to anything. We witnessed people having to go up to the bar to request items. The food was unique and decent but didn’t taste that amazing. I had a Mexican special which was flavorless and the side of potatoes was beyond crispy, lets just say rock hard. Maybe cooked last week and flash fried to reheat? The only positive thing was the chocolate cake and ice cream. I am not a fan of cake by no mean but this was really good. I would assume someone from outside the restaurant made this. It was someones birthday in our group and the waiter ruined the«happy birthday song» surprise at desert… you think they would at least give you a slice of cake on the house? Nope. I will not be back at this joint and will look for somewhere with a more positive vibe.

The Kedgeree is a great choice for a substantial breakfast. Salty savory combination of curried fried rice, bacon, smoked salmon and sunny eggs. Unusual combination but dynamite for the hungry traveler

A perfect place for our quick bite en route to Vermont. They had the best corned beef hash my wife has ever had. I loved my eggs, thick cut bacon and grits! So cozy and delicious on a cold, rainy Thursday afternoon. Can’t wait to go back!

What a phenomenal restaurant. You must order the mozzarella which comes in olive oil and a touch of salt and toast, to start. We also had the local pumpkin which was a unique dish, slightly spicy. For entrees, we went with the duck, and the lamb burger. All delicious and beautifully presented. Had no room left for dessert but got a gigantic brownie to go. Can’t wait to come back to this very special place.

There were highs and lows to this experience. The first low was daddy griping about how far out of town it was and the Neverending ride to get there. Upon arrival we sat ourselves inside and ran into some unexpected friends so we all moved to the center picnic table for a family style dinner. Very conducive to this. I had a blast with the setup and atmosphere. Too stuffy, but not dive bar either. It was, like the sign said, a finer option to a diner. I dislike diners. Brunch: No omelette, no pancakes, decent french toast if you cut off the burnt pieces. The food is farm to table concept and seems very fresh. The fritattas come out in a skillet and see delicious. It’s better than quiche. Don’t waste your time asking for an omelette bc they told us that they would not make us an omelette. I thought that was ridiculous, but maybe that’s just me. So we got the fritattas. Auntie got the Lox scrambled. That was DELICIOUS. well, except that the bialy that they came on were harder than dry wall laid out in the sunshine. Harder than cardboard and sharp like it could cut you. We thought it was just overly toasted but the other one was equally hard and dry. V dissapointing. French Toast tasted great once you got over the burned dried out sections and cut those off. The fritattas had kale, goat cheese and pepper. So yum. The roasted mushrooms were to die for! Got those as a side. Dessert: skip the lemon tart and the chocolate cake. Both … just don’t do it. Best desserts are the almond cake and Buttermilk pie. There are such highlights: fritattas, the un burnt-out portion of french toast, mixed roasted mushrooms, the egg portion of the Lox scramble, and the Buttermilk pie was such a nice finish. But the lows tainted the experience. Weak coffee, Luke warm coffee, rock hard dry wall bialy x2, burned french toast, no omelette/pancakes. I’d go back for the mushrooms and eggs, but if they’d make those details better they’d be exquisite. But just too many misses to not be annoying.

My friends and I were traveling upstate on the Taconic to a ski trip. We were looking to break up the drive with something a little better than a rest stop Subway. After some mobile phone research, Another Fork in The Road was in the right place at the right time. We called to confirm they were open, and they were. We tried the corn beef hash and some curry-trout with a Scottish name(Kedgeree?). Both were great. The waiter also offered a helpful portion suggestion — 2 orders of home fries for 3 people — that proved prescient and on-point. If you’re on the Tacomic looking for a diner or just great food, you can’t go wrong here. This is one Fork in the Road you are NOT going to want to miss.

We stopped here for breakfast while on a weekend day trip from the city, and we were glad we did. The place is cute and quirky, with some interesting breakfast options. The Fritatta, corned beef hash and scramble were all quite good. Good spot for an early bite if you’re in the Red Hook area.

This place is such a gem in the Hudson Valley… it is TRULY the Hudson Valley, utilizing all seasonal/locally sourced ingredients. The ambiance is a bit avant garde but spacious– granted, it’s really in Red Hook which is kind of rural and not much going on(but beautiful farmland) They have a lot of relationships with local farms, so farm to table isn’t a joke here. But, the chef/owner Jamie has had experience cooking down in NYC and the elegant and complex flavors of his food show his experience. We came for dinner on Sunday at 5pm when they opened and it started to get busier even shortly after. We tried: — Warm freshly made mozzarella and simply yet yummy bread — Pickled pulled beans with Asian flavors, sesame oils… etc YUM. Good mash up of flavors — Eggplant with lamb sausage. I don’t love lamb so I’m not the best advocate for this dish but it was definitely interesting and apparently they have a tight relationship with a special baby lamb farm and make their own lamb bacon We ordered the duck breast. I would have preferred a more seared/crispy exterior/rare done interior preparation so it’s a matter of preference, I felt this was a bit too saucy/well done for my liking but it came with a very interesting peach/plum sauce. Anyway, definitely check this place out. I found it by way of potentially looking into them as a wedding caterer(and they do, do plenty of that. FYI, Chef is well versed in many ethnic cuisines). We might be looking into it for a rehearsal dinner over at their other restaurant in Catskill– Maybelle’s.

We have been numerous times to Another Fork in the Road and have always come back because we enjoy the breakfast! But the service is slow(usually because there is only 1 server!) After having breakfast today, we decided we probably won’t be back. There were 4 other tables and us. We waited for 20 minutes, which was fine, because good food is worth the wait. Just when we thought our food was next, the chef /owner came out and sat down to talk with friends. We waited and after he got up after about 10 minutes, we knew he was going to make our food. After finally getting our food, the biscuit tasted like yesterday’s and there was no apology for the long wait. Plus 4 dirty tables(one of which we sat next to the whole time) and no sense of urgency. We used to love the food, but Murrays in Tivoli and Bonfiglio in Hudson are our breakfast spots from now on.

My friend and I stopped here for brunch on our way to Saratoga Springs a few weeks back. It’s in a rather isolated spot off the highway and definitely wasn’t worth the detour. I had a fritatta, which was great, and coffee, which was not so great. The major issue was the service — the place is pretty small and, while it was hopping, the servers should have been able to handle it. Our server was the no-smile, eyes-down type that thrives in the service industry, and we had to keep asking for things multiple times — water, coffee, cream for coffee, side of toast, etc. Finally, we were seated next to a bookshelf that was kind of gross(dust, hair). Bad days happen, so maybe that was it – but unfortunately I won’t be going back to find out.

I was super excited to check out Another Fork in the Road based on an article I read, and on the glowing Unilocal reviews. Maybe I just caught them on a bad day, but my experience wasn’t that great. On my way to upstate New York, my friend and I decided to drive up the Taconic Parkway and stop halfway at Another Fork in the Road. The outside of the restaurant was cute, and it seemed to be in the middle of nowhere. Upon entering we were seated at a two top by the bookcase. We ordered water and coffee, and everything we ordered seemed to come in bits and pieces. First the water. Then 5 minutes later the coffee. Then finally the milk for the coffee. It took forever! I really don’t know what the servers were doing but it took them forever to just follow up on what we requested. And the flavor of the coffee was really nothing to write home about. For food I ordered the corned beef hash with 2 eggs and my friend ordered a fritatta. When our food arrived, my corned beef hash was burnt to a crisp! And there was not much corned beef to be found. The egg yolk helped dampen the burnt flavor, but to only a certain extent and I could not finish my meal. I was very disappointed in the whole experience. At least my friend made a better choice with her frittata; it came out nice and hot and had a really good flavor to it. The cheese in it was delicious. I am sad that my experience didn’t live up to my expectations. If I visit Another Fork in the Road again I will certainly steer clear of the corned beef hash and try something new.

Driving back home from a weekend of skiing, Unilocaled the closest spot to eat and chose this place because of the great reviews. Definitely not disappointing! FOODWASSODELICIOUS. We got the cauliflower salad, fork burger, and the smoked salmon sandwich which was heavenly. Also very cute and cozy on the inside :)

This restaurant seems a bit run down from the outside but the inside is very cute. I went here with my sister for brunch and got the braised pork belly with egg benedict. I also had some of their fresh mozzarella and fries– both were heavenly. Their menu is great. Loved the friendly atmosphere from the staff. Ps. If the the dulce de leche French toast is on the special menu, get it. IT.IS.SO.GOOD.

File this place under: Pleasantly Shocked. The décor is simple, spare, and reminiscent of a place where you order a bad burger because you don’t trust anything else. However, all similarities to a crappy diner disappear as soon as you take a look at the menu which, I’ll be honest, astonished me. When I dine in Red Hook, NY* — not to be confused with Red Hook, Brooklyn — I don’t expect to have to look up(and/or ask about) multiple ingredients to find out what they are. I don’t expect thoughtfully composed, balanced plates. And despite the close proximity of so many farms, I don’t even expect such a dedication to locally grown produce. To be clear, it wasn’t a perfect meal by any means. However, there were far more hits than misses and the careful and obviously skillful cooking, when combined with such ambitious combinations, was definitely impressive. Like many of my favorite eateries, the menu changes often, so I almost don’t want to tell you about the impeccably tender duck breast, the boldly flavorful and charred tuna, or the sweet, tender shrimp. I imagine whatever they are serving when you come by will be equally interesting, and you can check out the photos for an idea of what you’re getting into. If you’d really like a recommendation, it seems as though the fresh mozzarella and the pickle plate are both staples; start with those and just order what sounds good. I can virtually guarantee you can’t find another meal like this for many, many miles. ______________ *OK, this was the first time.
