I came through Red Oak on business and stopped in for lunch at about 2pm. I had the Hot Beef Sandwich (so good, needed a nap afterwards).
Connie, the waitress/​bartender, was very sweet.
The place is old and a bit outdated. Only one beer on tap. But the service was top-​notch. Fast and friendly. Next time I stop through Red Oak, I’ll plan ahead so I have time to stop by again.

JOHNNY’S A CLASSIC!
Old-​fashioned non-​sense at this local place, that feels like a throwback from the 40’s in an old western town. Lots of meat choices, things that are fried, and barrels of whiskey!
I chose a hamburger with grilled onions, and shared three (3) things with a colleague — fried onion rings (even the ½ order was huge), fried cauliflower, fried chicken liver — fried, fried, and more fried… and it’s was all pretty dang amazing!
I loved my burger, about a 1⁄3 pound REAL handmade patty. It was the kind you can eat everyday. ;-)
SUPER nice waitress, Connie, who’s the mother of the owners. All in all, a great place!!!
