C. Joy Salon

I’ve had my hair cut here before, and they did a decent job, though it was pricey. After growing my hair out for Locks of Love over a few years, I decided to schedule another appointment to get it all cut off.
The time I wanted wasn’t available, due to short notice, so they emailed me a list of alternative times. I chose one that would allow me to go when my husband could watch our three-​month-​old baby.
Apparently, emailing them back within TWELVE minutes wasn’t fast enough. They gave the appointment away over the phone within the time it took me to reply. WTF. Rude and unprofessional.

I went in for a simple haircut, nothing fancy, and Taylor was my stylist. She was very pleasant and clearly knows what she is doing. I have thick, long hair but she took her time to cut, shampoo and dry my hair thoroughly. Was not making forced small talk, which I appreciated and she did not push the products too much either. Just casually mentioned what she was using on my hair. I was happy with the cut and the experience overall.

I’ve been seeing Molly for 3 years now and am so happy with her cuts! She really knows how to cut curly hair and always gives me great styling advice. The salon is cute, comfortable and has a positive environment.

Again, I feel I have to leave a negative review without experiencing the service as I was handled very unprofessionally today. This turned into an incredibly frustrating ordeal. I had a consultation at another salon, but the enthusiasm of the owner’s response to my message here on Unilocal encouraged me to consult here also. I met with Kelly yesterday (wed). I intended to keep the second consult but changed my mind as Kelly was adamant about being my new hairdresser. When I left, I mentioned that they scooped me away from another salon with their enthusiasm and professionalism.
We had a choice of two color options, and I decided to go with the second so I called today (thurs) to give Kelly advance notice. The receptionist was extremely unhelpful, unwilling to take a message or assist in any way. It was a strange conversation. An hour later Amanda called back and informed me that they are not a fit for me! Apparently Kelly’s confident insistence on being my new hairdresser was an unnecessary front (???), she was actually unsure of our discussion. She was also disturbed that I tried to get in touch with her on her day off! This is interesting, as I was being considerate in providing advance notice of the change and insisting that the receptionist at least take a message for her. Also — and this is really irrelevant — but in the beauty world Sun/​Mon are the standard days off. I’m not sure how I was supposed to know she was off on a Thursday when I called (again in an effort to be nice, professional and considerate. No good deed goes unpunished, chapter 1,000,000,000+).
Further, the owner gave me a choice of two stylists that day — I chose Kelly because she was available slightly sooner. if Kelly was unsure, she could have referred me to the second stylist instead of letting me walk out under the impression that it was settled.
As I told Amanda, Kelly should have declined BEFORE I LEFT AND CANCELLED MY OTHER CONSULT! Extremely unprofessional!

Molly is amazing with curly hair. She has tricks that help my curls look so much better. She is fun to speak to and her story is inspiring. Everyone that I have interacted with has been wonderful. I love every hair cut that she has given me.

I’ve been here three times each time for a cut and balayage, and my experience has been great each time. Everyone is very welcoming and it has a relaxing atmosphere. I had Molly the first two times and Avery for my most recent visit. I have black hair and I always worry that the dye job will make my hair brassy instead of the light browns and blondes i want, but ive always had excellent results. I dont think you can go wrong with any stylist here!

I’ve been seeing Heidi at C. Joy Salon for five years. She has always given me a fantastic haircut and style. Warning, I am the type of person who gets my hair cut two, maybe three, times a year. Most of the time I show up at the salon and say «I don’t know what to do with THIS» while pointing to my hair. Heidi smiles, guides me into her chair, and an hour later, I leave with a fantastic cut that works whether I wear my hair curly or straight and it grows out nicely. Heidi is amazing; she is the first stylist I’ve really felt comfortable with in my entire life and I never feel awkward. Yeah, it’s pricier than SuperCuts (or putting your hair in the shredder), but Heidi always does an excellent job. I’m a fan.

After relocating to the area I needed to find a place to get my hair cut. I checked out C Joy’s on the recommendation of a coworker. WOW! What a fantastic experience. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting. Right when I walked in I was welcomed, checked in quickly, and offered a drink. Molly was my hair dresser and she came out to get me very quickly and I immediately felt comfortable talking with her.
I had a hair cut and a deep conditioning treatment. During the treatment another employee came by and made sure I had a foot rest. Everyone there is so nice that you don’t feel like you’re only being paid attention to by one person.
My hair cut was fantastic! We talked for just a quick minute, but Molly figured out exactly how I wanted it cut. It was perfect! After we were done, Molly offered some products for sale, but wasn’t pushy at all, just educational.
Overall it was a fabulous experience and I would recommend C. Joy’s to anyone.

I was greeted warmly by the front desk and checked in for my appointment. As soon as I entered, the apparel and other merchandise/​goodies caught my eye. I ended up picking up a pretty poncho that was on sale before I left.
Shelly greeted me and took me in for my shampoo and haircut. She was friendly and knowledgeable. She suggested some good ideas and helped me get the look I wanted. I was very happy in the end. I will be going back to get my hair glossed. Looking forward to another good experience. I found that all the ladies were respectful and friendly.

I love this place. Ashley is a wonderful stylist who never disappoints. The salon is nicely decorated and clean. I love the complimentary beverages. This is a great place to get eyelash extensions for the holidays, especially when they are running the half price special. Amber does a great job applying natural looking lashes. The text message appointment reminders keep me on track and on time. My only complaint is the temptation to spend more money on the cute clothing and accessories available in the reception area. ;-)

I really liked my haircut. I did find when I got home that it wasn’t totally properly layered, a bit short and that the styling made the layers seem like they were cut correctly. However, hair grows, and it will get longer layers now. The lady that helped me was very kind and overall the experience was lovely. I do love the big mirrors in the place and the décor is very sweet. Could be brighter and happier colors in the place, but the front desk was very kind and offered a lot of wonderful benefits. The price of the haircut was reasonable. :) Thank you!

I have to update my review because I have been coming her for 2 years now and I’m still impressed by how great Ashley is. I’ve trusted Ashley to do everything to my hair and it always comes out wonderful. I have no idea why anyone would go anywhere else!

I had my hair cut by Kelly about a month ago and it was the best haircut I have ever had! She understood exactly what I needed to have done to my hair without me being able to verablize it. Highly recommend!

My hair was done nicely the few times I went but the pricing is just insane. I’ve gone to other salons since that have done just as great if not a better job at my cut and color and is $ 100 less each time. The cost of their services is kinda a joke compared to other salons in the surrounding areas/​cities.

My assistant found this salon for me via Unilocal and I am so happy he did! I love my stylist, Taylor, my 1^st cut and balayage/​ombré thingy was amazing… so amazing I go back every 4 – 5 weeks for my touch ups (I go grey fast. sigh). I hear she loves to do «up do’s,» so I will definitely go to her to get my hair done for any fancy pants events I go to.

Based on the Unilocal reviews, I really wanted to try out this salon as my new hair salon after moving from the Portland area to Redmond. I called, and called, and called. I called at least half a dozen times on different days. No answer. Then I tried to do a «Request an Appointment» through their website. I got an email confirmation that they received my request that promised to get back to me «in a timely manner.» More than 10 days later and I still don’t have a callback. Carolann should think about all the business she is probably losing because her potential customers can’t book an appointment.

I couldn’t get in with Ashley but Taylor did a great job! She had an awesome attitude and I felt confident in her color and cut skills! She can be my back up any day!

Once you stepped into the motherhood journey, there is no going back from endless responsibilities and sleepless nights. Once my lil one turned 6 months and I got some breathing space, I found an immense need of a haircut just to feel good about myself. After going through internet and reading good reviews about C Joy Salon, I selected it to my long needed haircut.
My hair were long but after pregnancy they were getting thinner day by day and becoming quite lifeless. I was not sure what to do with them; whether I need just a haircut or should I do hair color too. I was quite conscious about my hair since I haven’t done any treatment on them before. I emailed all my vague queries to C Joy Salon and in response they replied me a detailed email and then Taylor called me to discuss what exactly I needed. i told her that I am bot sure, I know one thing that I need a makeover but not too bold and also I am not aware of different treatments available in the market.
Anyhow, she booked me for a haircut and a consultation for hair coloring. It was really nice to have Taylor as my stylist since she listened to whatever I had to say that included all hair treatment terms that I just read on internet and did not know what exactly they are meant for. She explained to me how Balayage looks like, what is the difference between ombré’ and balayage plus showed me pictures of hair with those treatments. She gave very honest suggestions and gave me the hair cut just as I needed. It gave me a fresh look yet not too bold (as what I wanted). For hair coloring, she asked me how much often I am willing to come back for maintenance and suggested accordingly. Overall, it was such an amazing and one-​to-​one experience that I felt to so renewed and fresh. I am definitely going back to her and highly recommend her. Although, i am not a lady who spends regular time on hair maintenance but now I am more than willing to do so. Thanks to Taylor!

Among them one is their referral program in which for each referral they ll give you as well as the person you are referring 25 $ off for your next hair cut, a win win for both the persons which is such an amazing deal. Unfortunately I was not referred by anyone so I paid full amount but each penny was worth it. So guys next time when you visit her do mention me, I dun mind some bucks off my haircut ;-)]

Great Haircuts! I really enjoy going to the salon. The only thing I sometimes don’t like is that is hard to get an appointment in the next days. Besides that, I love that salon!
*Update: I am updating 5 stars to 2 because after 3 phone calls trying to make an appointment and asking about a hair treatment, I am giving up. They keep telling me to leave my number and they will call back but they never do.

I’m sending an update as my Wax Architect (that’s what I call Allison) changed a while back and I’d like my review to reflect her awesomeness.
I generally don’t let people this close to my Utopian Area (aka vagina) until they’ve at least bought me dinner; Allison is the exception to that rule!
I don’t particularly love getting hair pulled out of my utopian area, but Allison makes it as comfortable as can be. She is HILARIOUS and I love catching up with her. She makes sure that you’re 100% comfortable and taken care of. In fact, I compare her to a woman who I use to see for my brazillians who had been doing them for 25 years. Allison is just as amazing as that woman. She takes her time to ensure that everything is beautiful and touched up properly. Who wants a scraggly vagina?
I keep going to C Joy because of Allison. If she left the salon, I’d follow. Even if she became a milk maid in some country town, I’d still schedule waxes with her.
Schedule with Allison! She is A-​M-​A-​Z-​I-​N-​G!!! You won’t believe how fun it is! Make a girls day out of it :)
