i am giving 2 stars to this place just cause the salon it self it’s really nice… I came here few weeks ago, to book an appointment… First i say hello and no one say something back to me, then I have been sitting at the entrance for like 15 minutes, and everyone noticed that there was a body there waiting for someone, waiting for something, but they just didn’t care… So i left really disappointed and i don’t think i would ever go back ! you should treat your future paying customer with more respect… and most important with more consideration!

Paid 300 $ to drive an hour to get to the place, then one of the hair stylist dropped a mimosa on my bag and jacket and my phone got completely wet, also had to wait 7hours to get my hair done (well actually to only get it curled) But that was not the worst part. I wanted to get my hair lighter/​blonde but in my opinion nothing changed… I feel like it got even darker than before… but whatever… But instead of offering me to fix my hair to satisfied me they argued with me for 30min in a RUDE way. Saying that I am crazy and telling me that this is exactly what I wanted. If this would be exactly what I wanted wouldn’t I be happy!?? This NEVER happened to me before — YOu don’t argue with a customer! You fix it! Especially if you have to pay so much money! I Customer should leave happy and not devastating… Never go here again!!! I have been to so many different places and I never left a place so mad and not satisfied. Worst 300 $ I have ever spend :(

Ashlee is absolutely amazing! I came in here after not having a haircut in years. My hair was so damaged from coloring it and I was ready to chop it all off. Ashlee listened to EXACTLY what I wanted, and executed it to perfection. She was a perfectionist with everything from the cut to the styling. I came in there hating my hair color and just from the cut alone, it looks like she colored my hair too! (Even tho she didn’t). She’s that good. Not to mention she was an absolute sweetheart and so fun to talk to.
If you’re looking for someone who knows hair, stays current with trends, and will give you exactly what you want, I strongly suggest booking an appointment with Ashlee. And her puppy is adorable :)

So so happy I was recommended to come here! Aileen was my stylist and she is absolutely amazing! Going from brunette to blonde, and Cant wait to come back in 2 months for my 2^nd and final session. Everyone that works here is so friendly and I also love the way it looks inside! I will definitely recommend this place to my friends.

I am totally satisfied with the work done by Shay. She is very good with coloring and hair cut as well.
She did my hair very thoroughly and patiently. The total hours I spent in the salon is about 6 ½ hours. Well, the first day I spent 4 ½ hours to changed the hair color, and I went back for the second day to get it done with glossing it and had the hair cut. The total cost was $ 282.00 (before gratuity) and after 20% discount of being the new customer. I think the price was not bad compared with the work and the quality plus the shampoo they used are high end products (Kerastase).
Overall, I am happy with it and I will set this salon as my hair salon for the future. Thanks Shay!

Isabel is one in a million, no joke.
Came in 7 months ago with horrendously fried blonde hair.
Isabel took great care of my fragile hair.
Six months later after much tlc she did highlights, base break and gloss so no noticeable line after no highlights for over half a year, as well as a fantastic bangs cut (we say fringe, haha) it was Bang!@ Bang!#
Omg, I am beyond my happy place.
Close to 3 hours of outstanding work for under $ 200, my hair looks AMAZING. Isabel, you’re my hair guru!

Meghan just gets it. She cuts my hair dry which means I can work with my natural texture on a daily basis and my cut still looks awesome. She gave me the prettiest sombre and didn’t even laugh when I told her I wanted to look like Gisele. I’ve never been happier with my hair– it’s perfectly lived in, sorta messy, effortless hair.

Isabel is the best! The first time I went to her, she dyed my hair a beautiful brown. And I mean GORGEOUS. After letting my hair fade I asked her to lighten it and she did an amazing job! I am so in love with it! She’s the nicest, most genuine person and is very patient. I recommend her to anyone who wants beautiful hair. :)

I was going to a nice salon in West Hollywood, but couldn’t always find the time to get up that way for an appointment. Based on the positive Unilocal reviews, I gave Salon Barberet a try. Karen did a fantastic job cutting and styling my hair. I have fine hair cut in a bob, which required a more technical cut than usual. Karen was up to the challenge and I will definitely be back.

Men’s haircut by Isabelle — yes please! Have you ever watched someone getting a haircut that is so phenomenal that you were compelled to write a review because that hairstylist deserve all the praise in the world? I was actually waiting for my hair appointment, so it is not even my own experience I am bragging about — and I couldn’t help but notice this guy getting out of Isabelle’s chair with the fresh haircut that looked SO cool and on-​trend, edgy yet classy! I was absolutely wowed! And that’s like a guy’s haircut — what could be so exciting about it, right? That’s what I thought until then. Guys, if you are tired of the old boring and oh-​so expected men’s haircut, or looking to go for some change but not sure what, or if your hairstylist seems to do a pretty average work — get an appointment with Isabelle. She will rock your world! She gets it and you’ll be happy with the new you!

My girl Lindsay is the BEST! She is so sweet and so cool. I’ve known here for a long time. She’s the only one that’s done my hair. She knows what’s she’s doing. She always tells you what she recommends, and I love it. The salon is so nice. The staff is very sweet, you get there and the girls offer you something to drink. They greet you as soon as you come in. The place is also very clean. I highly recommend this place to get your hair done. Keep in mind that you have to make an appointment.

I recently moved to the south bay, and I’ve been searching around for a new stylist for a while. Then, I stumbled upon Salon Barberet. I’m very particular about my hair, and it’s very thick, course and curly. Therefore, I needed someone with experience dealing with this type of hair. I’m also the type of person that finds «my» stylist and sticks with that same person until I move, the stylist moves etc. So, after reading a bunch of Aileen’s reviews and seeing some of her pictures, I instantly called to make an appointment.
Aileen is fabulous! She did a wonderful job with my highlights and cut. And, she flat ironed it to perfection. She also has great energy, which is important when you’re sitting in someone’s chair for +3 hours at a time.
I’ve already booked my next appointment with Aileen, especially because she books up, quick! Additionally, the salon is beautiful and everyone is very professional and welcoming.
If you’re in the south bay area, I HIGHLY recommend!

Had never colored my hair before, but was referred here by a friend — such a good choice! Absolutely loved the sun kissed touch Lindsay gave me. Going blonder next time!

Salon Barbert was recommended by a good friend of mine. I have just moved back to the area and was looking for someone to do some highlights and a cut. I actually called the salon two times and was unable to book an appointment because I was put on hold BOTH times and hung up after several long minutes! (8 minutes the first time, 6 minutes the second!)
I actually drove to the salon to book the appointment. The gal that helped me was off putting (I’m trying to be nice she was actually rather rude) and my appointment was booked for 3 weeks later. Two weeks later I got a call saying that Aileen was overbooked and would have to reschedule the appointment I made 3 weeks out. The person who called me said that she could fit me in on a Tuesday and I let her know that I work late and that the weekends are the only time I can come in b/​c of my work hours, her response «well what do you want to do?» I thanked her and said that I didn’t think it was going to work out. If this is how they choose to treat new clients (who come on the recommendation of an existing client) then they need to learn to make better choices.

if I could give this place 1000 stars I would!!! where do I start?! I first saw Aileen to brighten my highlights before summer (in July) and was so happy with my hair
but recently I went to a different salon on the rec of a friend cause I wanted a trim and more highlights but received the worst cut & color of my life. think uneven chop, ORANGE color, super patchy and a general hot mess
anyway, Aileen remembered me and was able to fit me in for a color correction appt and cut the following week after my mini consult with her
she took my hair from a mess to the BEST!!! she really is an amazingly talented stylist. I just adore her and her assistant Chelsea. they are a great team and the sweetest people ever! please go see them! I’m posting before and after pics because honestly her work is AMAZING!!! thank you, Aileen!!!

This is so long overdue and I apologize Shay! I was reminded bc I left another review a few minutes ago for another facility. Ladies. Shay has completely restored my colored damaged hair, done a lovely job on my ombré hair coloring and done a wonderful job at cutting my hair without completely hacking it all off after an extreme 3 hours of coloring. She did a deep condition with a massage on my scalp and recommended certain products specific for my hair type. Best of all, she corrected the orange brassy job a previous stylist had done. I’ve received multiple compliments and will always come back to Shay.

Incredible Isabelle
I just got my son’s haircut by Isabelle and she did an amazing job!!! He is 5 yes. old and has very fine blonde hair so its hard to find someone who will take the time to scissor cut it. She spent an hour on him and did such an amazing job, I may have to leave my stylist to come here. Barberet is a fun salon with a good vibe and wonderful staff. I found it off of Unilocal and I am happy to say I believe all the reviews — this place rocks!

Huge fan and long loyal customer. Been going to the same stylist the entire time but everyone else working there are all super nice and they seem to all genuinely love their job and working together.
Love the Kerastase product line.
Parking is always available nearby in the residential/​street parking.

Shay + Savannah = awesome duo! I’ve gotten my hair done here many times. Did the ombré thing when it was at the peak of its popularity. I’ve always colored and never cut with her (I was very loyal to my other hairstylist), but one day I woke up and heard a voice: «Cut…hair…Shay…you must». IT WAS AMAZING (length was mid back to a shoulder length bob). Got that textured hair thing going on. Life is good.
Pros:
+ Shay is informative. Will tell you what she’s doing to your hair and how she’s adding this and that because of X, Y, and Z
+ She’s honest. She’ll tell you if something looks tacky. Sometimes we need a lil Joan Rivers in our lives.
+ Trust her with coloring AND cut
+ Savannah is really good at washing and massaging your head/​neck!
Cons:
+ Driving 40 miles to see Shay, but the drive is worth it

I went here in January and had Shay cut a foot of my hair off to donate. She was awesome! It was the best haircut. I am definitely going back to see her. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and I got exactly that. She has a very friendly personality and a lot of skill. Thank you Shay!
As far as the salon goes, I loved the style, décor, and setup. Great location too. Just be aware that there is no parking lot. I suggest turning onto Topaz from PCH and parking in that residential area, it’s a very short walk and worry free.
