This is a group review. It’s not super detailed but rather just a few key notes that most of us agreed on. –Small location –Fast service –Tongue tacos could use more flavor but the other meats were good –No restrooms –No beer

I always thought that the best Grullense was this, but today Wednesday 21 on night I take great disappointment, they took the order wrong, the cook was talking with somebody and when he made my taco’s not wash you hands and the tortillas is cold, the carne asada and tripa cold too!!!

The best tacos in the bay area, bar none. Get carne asada.

This is a small place on a corner just off of Middlefield Road. Open late, cash only, definitely worth stopping by! The quesadillas are so delicious. I got a pork one that was to die for. The sopes are also definitely must haves. The tortillas are not too hard and spicy. Perfect for late night cravings.

Okay this spot is my wife’s favorite Mexican spot when we visit her family up north. But I don’t feel that strongly about the restaurant like she does. But I guess I need to explain why. My wife adores their sopes here and compares their sopes to every other place we go to against the flavor and the toppings that she automatically gets here. I do agree that they have a very tasty sope here and the flavors are great and work well with the toppings. I guess to no fault of their own I am not a sope kind of guy. I judge Mexican spots on their tacos and burritos which gives me very little experience judging sopes. The tacos here are okay but nothing special to what I have had in my taco adventures. The meat has a decent seasoning and it lacks the extra flavors from the toppings on the sopes. My verdict is, go and try their sopes and forget the rest of the menu. But if you’re a local and this is what you’re accustomed to then you’re in for a treat by going here.

Best Sopes I have ever had in my life, INMYLIFE! I live in socal and have yet to find a sope that taste that soft crunch of the sope and lettuce and beans, asada with the crema and white cheese and some salsa verde Only place to come close is «King Taco in EASTLA» (I said close) ;-)

Sketchy area but ehh you’ll get amazing tacos that are dirt cheap. Doesn’t get any better than that. Try the tripas tacos and order them extra crispy… omg it’s seriously to die for!

For tasty, cheap tacos you can’t go wrong. There are numerous Grullense taco shops along the Peninsula, this is my favorite for cheap eats. A taco for $ 1.15, freshly made – can’t beat that! Interior of the place is almost third world but you’re here for the food, right? Yum!

I’ve been coming here for at least 18 years. It’s been consistently tasty and an excellent deal. Just recently I noticed a increase in prices but still worth the drive here. My youngest(6 ½ & picky) eats three happily without a peep. My son competes with his father and will down 8 – 10 tacos in one seating. Many moons ago, we(my husband & I) were there when a mariachi group passed the shop and with some $ sang a lovely song for me. One of the cheapest yet romantic dinners of my life. Silly huh? Back to the menu: their meat selection is perfect for us because it contains our favorites and they remain consistent in exceptional flavor as well as value.

I come here for their open faced tacos. How can you beat the price for a taco under $ 2? It’s made fresh and so tasty! The menu is basic… no frills so it’s easy to order. This place is tucked away in the many marts of RWC, but you can’t miss the bright green exterior. The place is open late and there’s street parking. Inside is small and minimally clean so I always get my tacos to go. 2 bites and that taco is gone!

RWC Taco Quest Stop #5 It’s El Grullense and you can bet that it’s a good taco. Tacos: $ 1.15each Seating: Limited. Can be standing room only. Credit Cards Accepted Size: Small 2 tortillas Good for Groups: NO Parking: Somewhat. Look to the street and walk for easy access. This location is not good as the El Grullense #1. The meat is a little different, but it’s still good, and definitely better than some of it’s neighbors. Meat was not oily, and they missed my lime. If you look at the«cooking station,» It’s seriously something I could have in my backyard. Too Funny. Ambiance: The menu is hysterical. It’s on the wall, and the options are limited. This is the quintessential taco shop. Doesn’t hurt that it’s El Grullense.

Date of Consumption: 10.07.08 Asada tacos: $ 1.15+tax Size of taco: small Average rating(10-point scale): 8.0(n=5) Toppings: cilantro, red onion Spicy carrot/peppers on the side. Your typical El Grullense taco. Small, tasty, and everything you could ask for from a taqueria taco.

I’m still not sure if all the permutations of El Grullense that I see around the RWC are from the same folks. My instinct is to think that they are, but you can never really tell. This is an actual physical location, as opposed to the taco truck bearing the same name, some five blocks north. Oh yeah, there’s another Grullense near the BK about 5 blocks past the truck. Seriously, the Grullense brand is like the Starbucks of taquerias. They serve decent Mexican fare here. I can’t complain. The menu is a little paltry, being restricted to tacos and burritos. As a bonus, however, they have bomb horchata(or «orchata» as it appears on the menu).

this place has character, cheap tacos /tortas and good agua de jamaica. its open late, till around 1. theres other good places in the area that might not have names– a couple of taco trucks, and a gas station grullense that are tasty too. i’m reluctant to give it more stars because i’m not so sure i want a lot people discovering it.

This Grullense rewls all over the one down the street near Woodside road. When I went to that one it was actually quite mediocre and didn’t live up to the hype. This one isn’t nearly as popular and it’s quite a bit smaller but that didn’t prevent it from being a full house nonetheless. It was bring your kids for tacos day or something because my co-worker and I were surrounded by kids and their families. I got six tacos, one of pretty everything, except pollo: Lengua Cabeza Carnitas Asada Tripitas Pastor The standouts were the asada and lengua with all the others being above average. My co-worker said the chicken was the weakest and we both agreed asada was the key here. In fact when you watch the grill guy he has about five lbs of asada cooking constantly. The place is really small and has about nine seats total. We were at first standing at the counter but someone left and we were able to nab oen of the two tables. Solid tacos all around.
