This is a group review. It’s not super detailed but rather just a few key notes that most of us agreed on. –This is half a market and half restaurant –Fast service –Handmade tortillas were very good –Goat, Chorizo, and al pastor tacos were very good –Salsa on the table is very hot! but good –Beer is sold in the market area but you can not drink it in the restaurant, it’s only to go –No Restrooms

Love the quesadillas here! Except the cheese they top it with, but it’s coteja(I think) cheese. Overall, great! But the one thing I dislike very much is their hygiene, every time I go, there’s always dishes in the tables and in the sink(piles) & their kitchen is so small they don’t have the space they need to prep their food without feeling like they are cross contaminating between dirty dishes, prepping food & touching raw meat. I enjoy the food! It’s delicious but I do wish they were a little more hygiene & clean.

I just love this place. They have the best tacos! I’ve tried carne asada, carnitas, lengua(beef tongue), and barbacoa(braised beef), and they are all tasty! Never been disappointed, as long as their recipe and quality stays the same, I will continue to come here!

My girlfriend and I had a taco run, up and down Middlefield to review our favorite Tacos. This place made the top of our list as far as flavor, fresh meat, and ingredients. The price was right to. I’ll keep coming back for the Barbacoa.

I came here to grab a couple of burritos and tacos for dinner for myself and a friend. I had heard good things from someone I worked with and wanted to check it out. I was excited for the fresh tortillas but I ordered small tacos without knowing those weren’t freshly made. They were out of pastor and barbacoa – two if the meats I wanted. Went with carnitas tacos and carne asada. Meats were nothing special. The tacos were better than the burritos. I think I came on an off day and ordered the wrong thing. Worth another try. Workers were nice but only spoke Spanish. Nothing wrong with that but those who don’t speak Spanish should know there will be a language barrier.

Great menudo and huge hand made yellow tortillas, menudo is very taste and well cooked. Taking away one star because the wait, its way too long at times.

The food tastes delicious the wait is a big long but its well worth it the food is fresh made and they don’t give you tiny pieces of food they give you plenty of food where you cant complain. Its kind of hidden which is fine with me that way if not a lot of people know about it, it wont be too packed when I go back. The food is authenthic none of that beans in a can. The parking is a bit of an isuue.

A simple Mexican Grocery store with a restaurant inside. I really appreciate all of the dishes El Piasano makes daily. Here’s a place where you get all the classic Mexican favorites plus special dishes of the day! Tortillas are made fresh on the spot! Sometimes a place deemed a «hole in the wall» is your best bet for authentic ethnic food. At El Paisano, you can get meats, basic groceries, personal items, and Mexican sweet breads too. Most of the folks who eat there are regulars who enjoy various dishes like Caldo de Res, Fish, Chile Relleno, etc. What you get is delicious authentic Mexican dishes, with a feeling of «just like your momma» used to cook. These Mexican dishes do not feel«Americanized», and their predominately Latino customers(like myself) expect authenticity and freshly made foods! The cooks are hard working ladies who also serve you the food! If you’re into a restaurant’s ambiance, interior design, and spic/span shine and cleanliness, this isn’t the place for you. If you want good Mexican food with Home Cookin’ feeling, this is your place!

This place is located in Lil Mexico of Redwood City on Middlefield. You wouldn’t know by looking at this place from the outside that it has amazing Mexican food that you can sit down and eat on the spot. I’ve been eating here for over ten years and just drafted this review. My favorites are the Burritos because they’re so tasty and big. Most other places are stingy on the meat. All their dishes are great as well. The Mole, Chile Verde, Aporedillo, and Birria are the best. They serve Menudo and Posole on the some of the weekends. And you can order Tamales too for parties. Need I say more. I love this place. People travel 30 minutes go an hour to get here just to eat. And to the previous reviews they just remodeled inside. Lol

They make their tortillas by hand, and they’re nice and hot. The beef plate I had came with rice and beans. I also had this chicken mole thing which had really good sauce. The place is kinda ghetto as its inside a supermercado and next to some car repair shop which makes it more legit. I wouldn’t drive out just to go here but if I’m in the area and feeling like mexican food I think I’d go here.

Ok everything at this place is perfect except the atmosphere. The place needs some clean up, remodelation and painting work. But what the hay, its a meeeeercaaaaaadow, so who cares, it doesn’t need to look extremely appealing. I went in to buy some T-BOne steak and walked out with a delicious popsicle, tomatoes, fruit juice, tukansi glo, jello, carne asada and a variety of other small little things that you can find at any small little mercado. This is the perfect small little place to go if you are looking for things Lucky charges too much 4.

Date of Consumption: 10.07.08 Asada tacos: $ 1+tax Size of taco: small Average rating(10-point scale): 6.8(n=5) Toppings: cilantro, orange salsa Located inside a grocery store/market, the tacos were… average. Meat wasn’t juicy, but wasn’t exactly jerky-dry. Meat was marinated and tasty though… Meh…

Being that this place is so close to my new office digs in the Little Michoacan it has become a defacto lunch spot for me. Initially this was a little weird, because I am not accustomed to getting my lunch at a mercado(I am more inclined to hit a straight-up taqueria), but it has grown on me. This place is über-Mexican right down to the phone cards and rentable mail boxes in the front. Did I mention they have a fully functioning taqueria in back? Yeah, the food is muy delicioso. Everything is prepared fresh. Can’t beat that. Note: They have two sizes of tacos, by default you get the chico. Bonus points: pick yourself up a REAL Coke made with REAL sugar(no high fructose corn syrup) to enjoy with those tacos.

As I was eating and staring out the window across the street, I noticed a weird trend. Everyone that stepped out of this place was carrying a popsicle. It first started with two guys standing outside Jay and Silent Bob style just eating popsicles out front. Then a multitude of children, some teenagers and then almost everyone else I saw. So the co-worker and I wandered in to find a full on Mexican grocery/convenience store and taqueria in addition to the popular box of popsicles everyone seemed to be buying. The flavors are all over the map, lime, strawberry, mocha, cofee, mango and one of the strange ones, cucumber and chili(which my co-worker tried). Nice refreshing treats for a warm sunny day. We’re definitely going to check out the taqueria side in the near future and I’ll maybe even buy some groceries for my next food shoppping bout on my return.
