They store their bottles of water under a harsh sun for a whole day, or weekend. That degrades the plastic, then you drink it. That is enough of a reason for me not to go there. Check images for details.

I went shopping for a big party I was having and Leo was extremely helpful. Not only did he help me find everything I needed, but he gave me great ideas. I will definitely be shopping here again. They should have employees like him everywhere!

Agree with Isaac B., this store has the worst customer service and indeed they are very condescending. I kept going there because is close to my house, but I think some male pig chauvinists should be removed from working there.

Had the worst service I’ve ever had at this location. I had a cashier named Leo(the reason i will never return) who was extremely rude and intentionally unhelpful and condescending. I sincerely hope the management does their business a favor and improves the quality of their staff. Would not recommend ever going to this store.

One other note: Smart N Final sells dry ice.

Nice place. I shop there a lot. Very friendly employees for the most part. I wish they would keep some shopping baskets in the store. I usually don’t need a shopping cart, but more than I can carry. I also think the produce buyer needs to speak with their supplier. The onions they are getting are way old. Fruit flies abound. Lots of defect and need to be thrown away if you keep them at home for more than a few days!

Don’t get this place. You need a card to get prices that are the same at a lot of major area supermarkets and discount stores? C’mon!

Our office is next to Smart & Final. They bogart the parking spaces when they unload trucks. Most days I can’t park in front in the shade. Other times they block in cars which is frustrating. Sure, it’s a poorly designed parking lot, but they could be more considerate to their neighbors. Customer service needs work. If you ask someone for help you’ll barely get eye contact. Usually they just point and say, ‘Oh, it’s over there at the end.’

Smart & Final has cheap bulk groceries and restaurant/catering supplies. You could compare it to Costco, except that it’s smaller and doesn’t require a membership. Don’t expect the bewildering variety you find at Safeway: one of the ways this place cuts cost is by not selling as many different things. This place does not have aisles and aisles of different brands of cereal. I live by myself and often eat at work, so I don’t go through a lot of groceries. Some items at Smart & Final come in minimum quantities that are just too large for me. This store will do in a pinch for supplying groceries to a single yuppie like me, but where it really shines is when you have to feed a large gathering of some sort, or buy supplies for a family with several hungry teenagers.

Very clean, lines are never long, employees are nice. Produce prices are typically even lower than Grocery Outlet, but the selection is rather limited. They no longer have a club-card system for extra discounts(everybody gets the discount now), and they never did charge a membership fee like Costco. Their sale prices on sodas are the best around, and also everyday prices on things like jugs of soy sauce, spaghetti sauce, huge boxes of cereal. Their milk prices are only low if you buy two gallons.

I needed to buy ice for my cousin’s BBQ and this store was down the street from her house. I’d never been in a Smart & Final before and was blown away by how clean and well lit the store was. Some of the products they stocked were cheaper than what I’d spent at Safeway or Lucky. Join the club and you will save that much more. I didn’t have a card and the clerk was cool enough to scan one she had at the register. Score!

I had not been inside this Smart & Final in about 3 years so when my mom mentioned that the Coca-Cola 2-liters were only $ 1.25(with S&F additional savings card) I knew I had to pay them a visit. I had to buy about 20 bottles for my friends wedding this weekend. The products and appearance sure have changed for the better, they now sell produce and have a variety of cheeses in the refrigerated section as you walk in. I do agree it does seem like a miniature Costco. The only thing I didn’t like was that it took so long to check out. The person in front of me, must have been buying for a business or resale(they don’t charge taxes for resale). Other than the 15 minute wait it was worth the savings.
