0n Sunday morning, after waiting longer when was told the wait was. We asked how much longer n told them they called people in that arrived after we did. The girl the front desk was rude n argued with us… we left and I called to speak to the manager n that was another rude person too… never had we been in a place that actually are that rude!!!

This is absolutely the last time I try to eat & enjoy a good breakfast here. The good — the wheat germ & blueberry pancakes were very nice. The bad — The coffee pitcher provided 1−½ cups for each of us(table for two). Our waiter had evaporated and after a 10 minute wait, I finally went to the cash register to request more. Two more cups. The egg, potato, and vegetable scramble was lifeless. With a lot of salt and pepper it became edible. The side fruit up was pathetic. Some of the fruit tasted canned and the serving was microscopic. Our service was interrupted 5 minutes in by our waiter announcing she was going to take a break. We only saw her again at the end with our check. The«sub» was overwhelmed by new tables and she was unavailable for the duration also. No more, that’s it. Fini!

Expensive. I have been spending at least $ 20 each time I go… They being said, I keep going back because it’s that good. It’s super crowded on Saturday and Sunday’s mid morning. I’ve heard people calling in to make reservations, perhaps that the option. I go by self, I never had to wait.

I ordered the crab omelette this morning against my better judgement. I’m writing this in between throwing up.

Came here with my wife for brunch with my wife between Christmas and New Year for lunch. There seemed to be a lot of people waiting for a table, but, in fact we were seated in only 5 mins. The restaurant prides itself on being gluten-friendly:an important consideration when one’s spouse has coeliac disease. My lunch was great: my wife’s, though, came laden on flour tortillas(!) despite her having repeatedly mentioned that she has coeliac disease. Please note, though, that when we pointed out the mistake, the staff bent over backwards to fix the error. A new plate of food was brought to my wife within 5 mins, by the proprietor who apologised profusely for the mistake. We all make mistakes: what gets 5 Stars from me was the commitment made by the staff at this restaurant to addressing theirs.

Terrible terrible terrible terrible Service. We were a party of 6 and we waited almost 1 hour for a table, 20 minutes for our order to be taken and another 25 – 30 minutes to get our food. We waiting almost 1 hour &50 Minutes for our food to be served to us after putting our name down at 11am. I have had it with this place; the food is great, but the service has gone down dramatically.

The portions are pretty big! I ordered a Blueberry Wheat Germ short stack(2 pancakes) and I wasn’t even able to finish it all. There was a good amount of blueberries sprinkled throughout the cakes, and it came with a little cup of blueberry jam. The wheat germ gave the pancakes a slightly grainier texture and tasted less sweet compared to normal batter(it balanced out well with the sweet blueberries). My boyfriend got the Popeye omelette(spinach, bacon, mushrooms, jack cheese, sour cream), which he said was«so-so; nothing too notable». The potatoes were interesting — it had the shaved texture of a hash brown but it wasn’t pressed together. Because of that, they weren’t really crunchy but more some soft — some undercooked shavings of potato… A very strange style of potato. The bagel was tasty though!

Great breakfast spot! Always busy & their breakfast menu is expansive with crepes, French toast waffles, omelette, scrambles and anything breakfast you can think of. The portions are big, food is fresh, staff is always friendly & efficient. Love their pork link sausages & Nutella items. They offer bagels with almost every breakfast dish but I always get fruit instead, that’s just way to much carbs. This time I got the strawberry, banana, Nutella french toast and it was awesome with 3 big large puffs of whipped cream too! Talk about sugar-overload. I’ve also gotten the Veggie omelet and farmer’s plate. All the breakfast items are delicious. This is why they are always busy during breakfast on the weekends.

Great breakfast option as they have a large menu. Reasonably priced. Got take out omelet, lox and bagels and fruit. Only bummer was they didn’t give us any cream cheese for the bagel. Good for kids too!

I’m giving this place 3 stars because the service could use some work. I came to this place because of the reviews I read on how good the food is. I will admit the food is good but still lacks some taste. When I sat at the counter nobody took my order for over 10 minutes that I had to flag someone down. You would think sitting at a counter service would be better… nope. When I did order, the food came quite quickly and was good but nothing amazing. I ordered a Feta Omelette with cheese and ham and a bagel with a side of fruit. The individual I was with ordered some pancakes which I will admit were delicious. My omelette was ok but still lacked some taste. The bagel was drenched in butter which I would have liked if someone would have told me that’s how they serve it. I had to send back and ask for a dry bagel so I can apply my own cream cheese or butter to my liking. I would recommend this place but just know the service is slow and lacks in certain areas. Maybe the other locations are different but this was my first time at a Stacks

Really loved coming here for breakfast. The hostess was friendly and smiley upon greeting us, and our waitress was super friendly and attentive. I liked the food. The banana, macadamia, coconut pancakes are AWESOME!!! I even liked the Oreo cookies pancakes and I’m not a Oreo fan. It was my friend’s birthday and the waitress brought her a mini fruit bowl with whipped cream and a lit candle. Super nice touch to end the breakfast. It is a bit pricey, but coupled with the great service and nice atmosphere we got our money’s worth. I would definitely recommend this place to others. Especially for the pancakes! Thanks Stacks!

This location is ok. It’s not as vibrant and exciting as the one in Hayes or Campbell. For some reason I got this old«care-home» feel to it. It was slightly depressing to be honest. The food is delicious and still has the same taste and portion from the other stores. The service is excellent here and they make sure you’re doing well and make sure your glass is topped off. I ordered their waffle for about $ 7 which is a nice portion and has a pretty thick texture. The batter could’ve had more flavor and the butter served could’ve been a bit more. I also ordered a side of toasted bagel with cream cheese which shouldn’t have been $ 4 but it was(super small). Overall the food was good but the atmosphere was bad. It just didn’t make me feel too good being inside especially with the dim lighting. For some odd reason this makes a big deal to me in this case. Food and service was about a B+ so that went well. Thank you but I won’t be coming back to this location BUT I’ll be sure to attend the other stores!

Stacks and ihop have a lot in common. Based on my breakfast(chicken and waffles) I would put stacks slightly above ihop, but not by much. Not to say that’s a bad thing, it is what it is. And the prices are a bit higher Than I expected. Maybe 10−15% higher? This place is walking distance from my apartment so that’s nice too and the staff is really friendly.

Stacks is a popular breakfast staple in Redwood City… Free coffee, tea and water while you wait(outside). Took about 20 minutes to be seated but went fairly quick. Got breakfast omelette which was good. Most meals come with«shredded potatoes and bagel.» Good place to visit

Food is descent — prices are outrageous for a basic breakfast spot. $ 7.90 for 2 eggs $ 8.10 for a bowel of fruit $ 8.00 for a side of bacon

Just an okay diner here. They serve breakfast and lunch foods. On weekends there are long lines. I didn’t find the food to be particularly special. I had issues with their hash browns. The potatoes were cut in these rectangles and I thought they should have been shredded. The hash browns just felt undercooked. The biscuits and gravy were okay although they put green onions on top and I was less of a fan of that. I had scrambled eggs and they just threw them on top of the biscuits and gravy which is not what I had in mind. I probably won’t be back anytime soon. I find most breakfast places just taste mediocre.

Ordered: Eggs Blackstone(eggs benedict with bacon, mushrooms, hollandaise sauce, side of soft ‘hashbrowns’, sauce cup of fruit), Plate of potatoes, sausage, scrambled eggs, bagel, «Chicken and waffle», Eggs Benedict. Eggs Blackstone: Eggs were essentially hard boiled. The basis of eggs benedict is a poached egg where the yolk pours onto the english muffin. Very disappointing for $ 13⁄14. Additional star for the waitress attempting to make things better by offering a poached egg. This came out perfect so they’re definitely capable of poaching eggs. The other eggs benedict came out the same way-hard boiled eggs with sauce on it. Chicken and waffle: 2 chicken strips with 1 waffle. Waffle was good, crispy shell, fluffy on the inside. Chicken strips could have been frozen. I was under the impression there would be actual pieces of chicken-usually a drumstick or wing/breast. Very dry chicken strips. $ 10 Potatoes/sausage/eggs/bagel plate were fine, but this is something I could have made at home. Eggs were overcooked. If your entire business model is breakfast I would hope one would know how to poach an egg otherwise eggs benedict shouldn’t be on the menu.

We went to Stacks for the first time today and I think Stacks is now my favorite breakfast spot in the Bay Area! There was no wait because we arrived around 1:15. I ordered the Triple Berry Pancakes and my wife ordered the Eggs Benedict. The food came out really fast! My wife thought the Eggs Benedict were average and the potatoes were very good. The Triple Berry Pancakes were awesome! I think they were the best pancakes I’ve ever had! Super tasty with fresh berries and a big portion! We’ll definitely return someday soon! Triple Berry Pancakes grade: A+ Eggs Benedict grade: B-/C+ Potatoes grade: A Overall grade: A

I’ve been to stacks a few times now and everytime I leave with the same feeling, average breakfast food with large portions and a big bill. They have a wide variety of breakfast foods and some lunchtime foods like sandwiches, everyone can find something. For every plate you get A LOT of food. Which is great, but the quality is mediocre I think. If the description says: eggs, potatoes, sausage. That’s it. That is hat you’re getting, no extra spices or salt and pepper. Which is ok! Stacks isn’t bad! They’re just a regular brunch joint. The staff at this location are very nice! It’s a good sized restaurant with a small parking lot. What’s cool is they have outdoor seating! I’ve never eaten outside though so I’m not sure how great the service is out there, but the service inside is great!
