I’ve had 2 awesome lattes here and 2 shitty lattes here. They’re very nice and it’s an ok spot to meet and do work, but it’d awesome to expect more consistency

I have been coming to this place every now and again a for awhile and never really checked out the full menu. This place has a lot of great food and drink options! They have breakfast burritos, made on site, Belgian waffles with tons of topping options, pastries, bagels, and snacks galore! They also have the biggest chocolate croissant I have seen in awhile. Most importantly, the espresso is bold and very flavorful. I admire the milk alternatives as well: almond, coconut, soy milk or hazelnut. The staff have always been kind and very friendly, giving off that lovely neighborhood coffee shop vibe. I like to choose coffee shops/cafes that I can stay in for hours to get some work done and with its mellow vibes and offerings of substantial food, Summit Café exceeding my expectations :)

The blonde barista makes the best coffee there, I like that she is friendly and I love how she made my mom’s and my coffee awesome. I remember there was a time that I had one bad experience here before but the sweet barista I had made me forget why I was hesitant of coming back here. I am glad to have give this place the benefit of the doubt because they are starting to get better. Will come back again. :)

Best latte in town! Summit coffee is local and convenient. I enjoy the atmosphere and tasty coffee. Prices are reasonable and cheaper then Starbucks/Peets.

My coworkers and myself come to this coffee shop regularly. We are always greeted and served our orders correctly. I love their vanilla lattes, and the blended mocha is superb! A friendly lady that works there always remembers my group or when I go by myself. She is nice too, she asks me if I want to put in my sugar first, or asks me if I need room for my lid. I think is very thoughtful. I really appreciate their service, and yes, the service can be a bit slow, but there’s only one barista most of the time, but I like that they take their time making each drink! Just wait up! Is worth it! I haven’t tried any of their food yet, but I will soon. I only tried their samosas, they are goooood!

I came here around 9:45 to get waffle fix since I miss my waffles and yesterday was #NATIONALWAFFLESDAY. Anywho, not knowing what to get, the lady was recommending me to get Mocha since I like sweet. Then, I ordered Caramel Macchiato and Nutella Waffles, which only came about 20 minutes later. In the middle of this whole thing, the girl asked another customer to stay since she has to go to the supermarket. I just felt like that was a bit unprofessional… She could’ve asked her coworker who was inside to wait. I was feeling good about this place, probably will only come back to play with friends since they are well known for their board games collection. Could use some more interior work.

Ordered a large iced Coffee drink. He didn’t say anything and charged me for a large. When I got the drink(it was a small) and I started to walk away and then said«wait, I ordered a large». His response was«I’m out of large cups», he then opened the till and gave me $ 1.00 back(not sure if that was enough). So, he would have let me have a small while paying for a large if I didn’t say anything!!!

depressing coffee shop in every sense of the word. As you enter, the first thing you notice is how sad and depressed everyone looks. Adding to the curmudgeonly patrons, the café is eerily music-less. The staff also seems rather dour — I don’t know if it is the owner who served me, but it appears that even he didn’t like working here. If there is an opposite of a cool, friendly SF coffee shop, this would be it.

I tend to support small/independent coffee shops, but this one specifically doesn’t deserve it. The guy at the counter, which I assume is the owner, is very rude and unpleasant. I came here only twice, and both times the service was extremely poor. There is this guy staring at you and hurrying you to order, even though I was just looking around to have an idea of what they had for breakfast. The pastry choice is limited, and they look old and unappetizing. Once your order is ready, they unpleasantly yell the name of the order and leave it on the counter without following up with a thanks or even just looking at you, even though you’re the only customer they’re currently serving. The iced latte tasted like it was burned. Overall a poor experience both times, and I won’t come back again.

Can’t stand it, only come to this place for the convenience that it is a block away, but each and every time they manage to mess up my most simplest of orders. It’s not like they have a complicated menu, only the 4 items which they have been serving since they opened, yet still manage to get it incorrect, never have a posted a review, but i just rather save everybody the hassle instead of having you feel the same disappointment I feel every time I unwrap my order.

Really disappointed, I’ve been a pretty regular customer here; I usually grab a cuppa before doing errands, but lately the customer service has declined. They’ve hired more employees, which seem to be high-schoolers as opposed to the original owners. This would be fine, if the newer employees actually cared about customer service and working. The owners were always friendly and cared about my drinks, and were very talkative — made me feel like a regular, ya know? Walked in and the employee was loudly talking to someone on their iphone, and I noticed that after getting my drinks that they were texting and returned to their conversation — I hope they washed their hands before making my beverage. Also saw them eating raw sushi with their hands right next to the coffee machines. There were no napkins or straws at the counter, either. The tables were dirty, and the food in the display case looked sad, so I just left :/ I love supporting local businesses and I love summit, but I can’t keep going if I’m not treated well and the store isn’t kept up to par.

Had the breakfast burrito twice on my recent trip to SF and I can’t believe how good it is for such a cheap price. Quality ingredients and so much flavor. Their espresso was strong but could be better quality. The prices are unbeatable though. Good place with free wifi and board games. Could stay here all day.

Two stars for the breakfast burrito. One star for the coffee. I’m a burrito and coffee snob so here we go… the burrito was huge and filled with egg whites, ham, spinach and mushrooms. I think there was some red onions and tomatoes as well. It also featured mozzarella cheese. I would come back for the burrito. I’ll get my coffee at Peet’s though.

Figured we’d come here to support our local businesses in the neighborhood. Ordered a soy latte but they ran out of soy(not a problem since they had almond milk) and it was delicious. My wife ordered the Carmel macchiato and she said it was better than Starbucks… My only gripe is the chocolate croissant– we weren’t offered a warm option– it would have tasted much better warm.

Short version: Free wifi and convenient parking are a plus. The fact that they have board games for people to use is really cute. Coffee is just ok. Fine for what it is. Nothing particularly special. ¯\_(**/)_/¯ Longer version: Visiting my parents from LA and needed a place to sit down and do some work. Try generally to frequent independent shops, but there’s a surprising dearth of those in San Carlos/Redwood City, and I’ve already been to Backyard and La Tartine this week. So, Summit Coffee it is. We ordered the Belgian waffle, and as the other reviews point out, it was lovely. Samosa was pretty good too. People seemed friendly enough too That said, we were the only customers in there but when each coffee came up, the cashier felt the need to yell across the store that they were done for us to come get them. The dirty chai latte I ordered was made with the wrong kind of milk, and had to be remade. Unfortunately the remake was right between«hot» and«room temperature.»(Again… only people here. Not like there were tons of backed up orders.) Just… eh.

My wife loves the Whisper waffle. They know their regulars too. There’s a pleasant. nger that plays guitar. Not sure of his visiting schedule. But he’s is calming to listen to. Very warm good ol fashion neighborhood folks here. Feels homely unlike the 99% of all other cafes that are filled w people making out w their cell phones and laptops. The people in society taday are so disconnected. Folks ain’t got as much intetest to be what we as humans are designed to be best… social. Here I feel a sense of aknowledgement. I can also leave my bicycle outside unsecured and not haveta worry bout is disappearing. Folks here on this side of town are more civilized. We’ve began returning more frequently and have grown fond of it. You will too.
