Came here on a Holiday with the bf(who, by the way, is definitely not a veggie-lover) and had an overall great experience! We came here on Memorial Day and was promptly greeted by the friendly host and waitress. Though we chose a seat away from the windows, the air conditioner was just a tad too cold so we requested to move to the seat next to the window without any issues. +1 right off the bat! As soon as we sat down, the waitress brought over a small starters(on the house) for us as we browsed through the menu. I ordered the Roti Canai, Oyster Mushroom, and Vegetarian Cold Cut Duck. Though it wasn’t a lot of dish, our waitress did not give us any attitude and took our order with much courtesy. Within 10 – 15 minutes, our appetizers and main dish were out. The curry wasn’t the best but the Roti was standard. On the other hand, the vegetarian duck was amazing! Made with just the right amount of sauce so that it’s not overly salty or oily. Definitely something I will be ordering the next time I go there.(Perhaps the vegetarian chicken this time?) The best dish was the Sizzling King Oyster Mushroom! They didn’t scrimp on the ingredients so we got a good amount of oyster mushrooms that were simply delectable mixed in wth some zucchini, tofu and other vegetables. For someone that doesn’t eat a lot of veggie dishes, the bf loved this as did i! Overall, had a pleasant experience at this restaurant. Staff are friendly, accommodating, did not rush the patrons and most importantly, the vegetarian dishes are flavorful yet seasoned just right. Must try!

This is my go to place for creative, delicious vegetarian food. The menu is extensive. Great soups, appetizers and main dishes all served with green tea(free) and a smile! This is Queen’s answer to Zen Palate. Consistently good service and great food.

Enjoyed a wonderful all vegan meal tonight. The service was so pleasant and friendly. The menu is very extensive and all the plates were beautifully presented. Not salty at all, which I’ve found in many Chinese restaurants. And I can’t say enough about the vegan ice cream. It was the best I’ve ever tasted. Definitely going back. Can’t wait to sample some of the other items.

We are very fortunate to have a restaurant in our neighborhood serving this light, yet delicious and satisfying cuisine. In traditional Buddhist style, the dishes are simple, yet flavorful and skillfully prepared. I would suggest any of the soups, I like the curry soups as well as the hot and sour, but try the wonton soup if you are more of a traditionalist. It’s lightly seasoned, so you may want to add a few drops of soy sauce if you want it «take-out salty». The mixed appetizer dish is a classic Buddhist specialty– it’s big, so make sure you have someone to share it with, or bring some home. The«Gourmet» menu are house specials that you will not find anywhere else. If you are less adventurous you can pick from the more-traditional vegetable, vegetarian«meat», tofu, or fried rice and noodle dishes. Restaurant is very clean.

Incredible food, large portions and quickly delivered hot. Whether you are a carnivore or a vegan or somewhere in between this place is excellent.

I just ate here recently with my father. We ordered the tofu with three mushrooms, eggplant with basil and black bean sauce. Both were great. I love Chinese vegetarian food. The food in other places can be overly seasoned and oily. The food here was neither. Mild but also flavorful. You also get a small plate of pickles for the table. Those were great too. I look forward to eating here again. Highly recommended!

Space: Well-decorated. Service: Attentive. Food: Meticulously-crafted; There is a fairly wide selection of chef’s specials in addition to more traditional dishes that they have added their own special flair to. Other nice touches are complimentary kimchi and a brown rice blend of hearty grains.

Green Zenphony has replaced the dearly departed Simple Veggie. While Simple Veggie was a bit more Americanized Chinese, GZ seems to be more traditional Chinese. All dishes are still vegan. We finally went to GZ, and weren’t sure what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised, though. It was all delicious. And a bit surprising, as anyone who orders the chicken spring rolls will tell you(they don’t look like spring rolls, but it works!). I had a never ending noodle dish that was amazing and perfectly made, and my husband had something taro based that I had a bite of and was very good. We had some dumplings as well, and they were a bit plain, but that was our fault for not getting them pan fried like we usually have them. There’s a lot on their menu, so we’ll have to make our way through it with each visit. I will miss the Americanized dishes, though. I’d hope maybe they could incorporate some of Simple Veggie’s ideas if they’re allowed. They were very friendly and accommodating, and the fact that they took over this place instead of letting the one local fully vegan option die is a winner in my eyes.

The ingredients are all fresh and the dishes are beautifully presented. The staff is friendly and service is always with a smile. On our first visit we did a take-out just to try their food and the owner happily greeted us and recommended some dishes. We were impressed with the menu so we returned to dine-in to try their other dishes. We enjoyed the dinner very much and went back again to try their lunch menu. The owner asked us for feedback on our meal which we completely finished. The owner is very sincere in serving the freshest and most delicious food to their customers. We will surely be back soon.

I’ve been to Green Zenphony and when it was Simple Veggie, and I have to say that their dishes are pretty great. I love the huge menu and hope to have tried everything in the future, and I love that this restaurant isn’t expensive or over priced like other vegetarian/vegan places. This place is also really nice and quiet place for a relaxing date night.

I was hesitant, I’m not a vegetarian and I like meat. To my surprise the food was delicious. We had a rainbow bowl(seasonal dish– a stew of sorts in a green pumpkin), it was amazing! and Phoenix Soong(lettuce wrap) and both would stand up to any similar dish I have had with meat. The service was fun and attentive, the restaurant was clean and well maintained. The great thing about the food was I had my fill and then some and I didn’t have the over full yuck feeling. I will be back!

New place that took over the previously named Simple Veggie — which I tried and wasn’t crazy about. This makes me miss it. I hate to write negative reviews for«healthy» places but this is anything but. This is greasy sloppy Chinese food bastardized with soy. I ended up spitting out the steamed veggie dumplings because of the horrible rotten taste. I opened one up and aside from the uncooked dough could not find a cause for the terrible sour smell and taste — there didn’t seem to be anything but chives. The soup broth was OK — simple and complemented with big chunks of barely edible under-cooked veggies. The Lo Mein and Chow Fun noodles were more mystery soy and oil than noodle, and no vegetables in sight, and lacked any flavor, even salt. I left 90% of the meal untouched. It’s really disappointing. Rego Park is barren of healthy good food. This place could be a gold mine but instead it’s just more cheap ingredients slathered in sauce that is hiding under the term vegetarian.
