Stopped in the other day to sell a ring I bought in Edinburgh, Scotland, 3 years ago. I have been searching for honest pawn stop for awhile, and I think I found one. I read in one of my local weekly newspapers about Ice, and everything seemed to check out. The place is tiny, located in a deserted part of Rego Park on Queens Blvd about 2 miles or so from where I live in Forest Hills, so close. The gentleman behind the bullet proof window was curtious, helpful and honest. My ring was worth about what I thought, maybe a little less, but the British pound is down versus the U.S. Dollar, so what can you do. I also had two old silver coins, which, even over 100 years old, are very, very common, so not worth much. In addition, I had him value a family heirloom ring and gold coin, which are both expensive items, and the prices quoted were what I knew they were worth, so a big plus there. Honesty is the best policy. If you need cash in your hand and live in Queens, pop in. The isn’t Pawn Stars, so don’t expect a glitzy Vegas scene, but a hometown place do do some business.
