The Happy Hour specials here are fantastic. The lime crush’s were delicious and reasonably priced, and the street corn is awesome. Our bartender was nice & attentive. The rooftop bar has a great atmosphere. I can’t wait to go back!

Good food at a good price. Wife loved the kale salad and I enjoyed the fish tacos. The home made sodas were a real treat!

Nice outside deck, good service, parking lot across the street. Very average fresh food. Weird menu, small portions, the food we had, fish tacos were average, nothing special, price was cheap. Frozen Margarita was ok.

Stopped here to sit on the rooftop deck on one of the few nice days so far this spring. Service/bartenders are always great at this place. It was happy hour which is a pretty good bang for the buck for 5.00 margaritas. Also had a 3.00 pork taco which was good but could have been a little hotter. Street corn was fantastic but also could have been a little hotter. Food is more like a 3 but the service and the atmosphere on the roof bumps it up to a 4. Want to come back at happy hour and try and the nachos next time. Menu has a short rib cheese steak burrito which sounds awesome too!

Very disappointed in our first Papa Grande’s experience. Atmosphere was meh — a very small table for four that everyone walked past on their way elsewhere in the restaurant. Our server was nice and pleasant but sometimes disappeared for long periods of time. Food was okay but nothing special. Much of it seemed almost bland, which is odd for Mexican food. Everyone in my party had food left on their plate at the end of the meal but no one was full — never a good sign. It wasn’t horrible but also wasn’t good enough to justify returning. Not what I expected based on word of mouth and the association with SoDel restaurant group.

The food and service was amazing! Helena is one of the best waitresses I’ve had. She was extremely friendly and made sure we had everything we needed.

Went there for drinks with a girlfriend, we ordered margaritas though her original was delicious my pomegranate margarita was not. Far to tart and to much juice. The chips were cold but salsa was tasty. Despite some bad service we did enjoy ourselves and was offered a new drink by the bartender.

Papa Grandes has amazing curb side appeal and a beautiful rooftop deck, I guess I had higher expectations for this restaurant. While it is definitely not the best Mexican restaurant in Rehoboth Beach area, they have amazing customer service and pretty good margaritas. The interior is nicely decorated, but it is extremely loud inside, kind of difficult to have a conversation. The food was good, but I felt the portions were very small in comparison to price and other Mexican restaurants in the area. For drinks we had the Pomegranate Margarita, spicy margarita, and one of their top shelf special margaritas. You definitely got your money’s worth here. For appetizer we had guacamole and chips, I don’t think you get much guac for the price. The entrees were okay had the grilled skirt steak and the pig and egg rice bowl. What I really did love was the short rib cheese steak burrito, although small, it packed a lot of flavor and the house sauce was delicious. If I were to return, it would probably be because I want to sit out on the rooftop deck and enjoy a few cocktails.

Not what I hoped for, had potential, but this particular night a miss, I will try again, as I really would like to improve this not so great experience. To be fair, I will not taint it with my specific complaint, I will try again.

Stopped in here after trying another Mexican restaurant that had a long wait. The space is really nice looking and the staff are warm and friendly without being pushy. Our waitress was kind enough to swap a diet coke for the homemade root beer my daughter did not like, and not charge us for it. I have to say I liked the root beer but it isn’t for kids. It’s a complex flavor. We got chips and guacamole. It was a large portion of guacamole and our waitress brought us salsa as well. Both were very tasty with really good chips to boot. My son ordered the jumbo wings. He said they were meaty and just the right amount of spice. I ordered the blackened fish tacos. The fish was very good, fresh and firm. But the tortillas were store bought and cold. They killed the dish. My daughter got the fried fish tacos. Same issue with the tortillas and her fish was soggy and had a terrible after taste. Neither she nor I could eat them. Overall I think this restaurant has Graf potential. They just have to pay attention to the little things like using or at least heating up the tortillas. Oh…and to the hostess who kept walking through the restaurant with a clipboard and a sour look on your face, diners don’t love someone taking notes on where they are in their dining experience. Knock it off. It was super distracting. Figure out another way to keep track of how far along tables are in their meal.

A great atmosphere isn’t enough to save Pap Grandes. The back deck IS an awesome spot to hang out, but I was disappointed in the ceviche(too limey and the consistency of the fish wasn’t right(although there was a respectable amount of fish). The chips and salsa were standard mexican restaurant — and the margs were underwhelming(especially since you can go to modern mixture just down the way)

This was a great experience and underrated on Unilocal.I’m still not understanding the Unilocal review logic. No, it’s not the best Mexican food I’ve ever had – but would you really expect that to be in a beach town? It’s just solid food, fairly priced(for the beach), and our server was positively great. Chipper, friendly, and on point. Truly a class act girl. Margaritas are clearly homemade(as they should be, but you’d be surprised what I’ve had at Mexican restaurants) and very tasty. Guacamole was a generous portion, and the chips are tasty. My mom ordered the crab tostadas(I think that’s what it was called) and they gave her a huge portion of crab on each tostada. I don’t even know how they make money on that dish; I think they actually need to reduce the portion for that reason! Again, don’t go expecting a world class Mexican experience. Do go expecting a solid, tasty, casual tex mex restaurant to get your fix during your beach vacation. Oh, and do check out the rooftop bar, which is first come first serve but does have table service and the full menu. And also, it was a bit loud in there. Seems to be a theme in Rehoboth. Either the sound insulation isn’t attended to well, or folks drink and excitedly chatter in their beachy no-stress way.

Delicious but missing«oomph». I got the cheesesteak burrito, which was delicious but very heavy. Would like more guacamole and sauce and less steak. The margarita pitcher was mostly ice but I got a single Maximo margarita, which was awesome but pricy. My wife got the pork belly bowl. I think it had potential but could have been turned up a notch with a better spicy sauce.

Taco Bell with a liquor license . The kids fish tacos were so bad we went to a other restaurant for more food . The taco salad was non memorably. The crab seafood something was really something . Don’t understand how you mess up Mexican food.

We were excited to try this new place after hearing good things, but our experience was not great. The Margarita was just ok, the queso arrived at the table slightly burnt on top, our meals, tacos(chicken, skirt steak, and chicken) received mixed reviews. Skirt steak tacos were a little under cooked and a bit tough, chicken taco was better, but not outstanding, the ground beef taco was very good. After trying all three we decided the most flavor was in the ground beef taco. Rice was little spicy for my taste, but others liked it. The Cheese quesadilla was very good and the honey dipping sauce was outstanding. The real reason for the less than positive review is the ambience and service. While we were seated quickly for a Saturday night, we didn’t have a waitress forever, we ordered drinks and queso first, the queso arrived(burnt) before our drinks arrived. We waited quite a while to see our waitress and her waitress in training, which made it difficult to address issues. We were seated in the front part of the restaurant at a table that was barely big enough for two and we had a party of four. As we looked around all the tables seemed to be the same size and people had to remove the condiments from the table just to have room for drinks and plates, to top off the tight quarters at the table, you are basically in a walkway with waitstaff and hostesses constantly walking by you taking people to other tables. It did not make for an enjoyable meal. I would suggest that the owners change that area up by seating only two-tops there, pushing the tables up against the window and providing for a shelf or area to place the condiments above or to the side of the tables. If we had ordered fajitas there would have been no way everything could have fit on the table as it’s currently configured. The upstairs patio is very nice, but the closeness and proximity is pretty much similar to what we experienced downstairs. The food was just ok, nothing spectacular, there are better places for great Mexican food in Rehoboth’s and lewes area(Agave, Dos Locos, Mariachi) the prices are good. If they can address the timeliness of service and the ambience it would be much better.

This place is great. Apart from having an awesome rooftop deck and great atmosphere the food is really good. As a Mexican I can say this place is pretty authentic. We had jicama and carrot sticks, guac and chips, and brussels sprouts with mole. Everything is very fresh and great tasting although I will say the mole was lacking a just a little flavor. Service was also excellent we had a very nice waitress. Highly recommend

We ordered the Chicken Quesadillas and Steak fajita platter. The steak was cooked through and was extremely tasty. The quesadilla was perfect! It was accompanied by a honey pepper sauce. The cheese was stringy and perfect! I’ll be back!

Love the addition of the outside terrace, it’s upstairs. I probably shouldn’t write this now everyone will come. The staff is very knowledgeable and excellent. Great happy hour and overall a stellar Mexican spot in Rehoboth. Guac is wonderful.

A party of 4 arrived at Papa Grande’s on Sunday afternoon at 5. They have a great happy hour menu with food starting at $ 5. for dinnet we had the pork belly tacos the shrimp tacos the shrimp fajitas and the skirt steak fajitas. Oh yeah we also had their delicious chunky guacamole. We all enjoyed our meal from start to finish and our server was awesome. we started with the guacamole with the entrees to follow I think we only had to wait about 15 minutes maybe even 20 before our food was being served. I can’t wait to go back there again this Sunday. Everyone gave their entre a thumbs up! Delicious and fresh.
