Russell and staff have given top notch service to my little company, treating me like they would any other company, no matter the size. Not only have they upgraded my wireless system to enable signal to be picked up throughout the house, not just in my office, they’ve logged in several times and fixed issues with missing accounting files, after a update from Microsoft. Russell put my company in to an email exchange to enable me to send and receive encrypted email to transfer sensitive client information. Email is intercepted constantly, and with sensitive information an encryption program is a necessity. They’ve upgraded my one year old laptop to handle the work load I put on it daily with the various programs run to service my clients. All of this with super friendly, highly knowledgeable, customer service. We recommend Advantage Computers to all new clients, friends, and family. Today Russell at Advantage Computers saved more than the day. He stepped up when nobody else would. He saved my Sister from a cell phone disaster and did so from his heart. Russell Burkett, who I do not know, made time in his day to help her the night before she is having major surgery to have a brain tumor removed, and donated materials and time to do it. When I realized early this morning that nobody I knew near Reno could help, I started calling strangers, pleading for somebody to help my little Sister. I am many hours away, and cannot get there this week. I offered to pay for materials, time, whatever anyone needed from me to make it happen. I was quoted ridiculous fees when inquiring by 2 companies, and never called back by many others that did not answer. In fact, the first time I called Advantage Computers, the boss was«in the field», and they took a message. I wrote them off, that is until Russell called me back… and he did so within 30 minutes! He professionally informed me that he was in the middle of a client filled day, and asked what my time sensitive issue was. After learning of my little Sisters Brain Tumor, he juggled his schedule to help her today. This evening he arrived at her Hospital room and saved her phone, making it all it could be, considering what it is. He saved her stress and worry and angst too… He was so kind to see the human factor, and understood this was much more than a phone issue. She may not be able to learn anything new after tomorrow. So, having her phone operable today is KEY to her recovery. And Russell made it happen, on his own time, and his own dollar. I did not even beg. He just made it happen! He did a great job! I am now able to speak with her, send her pictures, and text her. He made sure she had the apps she wanted, and knew how to work them on that phone. She can even take pictures again, and share them. For a new phone, it just is not all that, to put it lightly. Well, Russell at Advantage Computers in Reno got it working, AND made sure it was all that it could be… so much better. Thank you, Russell, and Advantage Computers, for your expert help, professionalism, and for having a heart. You went above and beyond the call of duty here, and gave us better than perfect service.

My dental office has been associated with Advantage Computers for over 10 years. They took over all my IT needs after a previous computer company set up all my office computers and problems frequently occurred thereafter. Russ and Jasmine and their talented crew came in and accurately diagnosed the problems, made changes and made our system more efficient and reliable. When occasional issues do arise, they are there onsite usually within hours to help us out. I plan to upgrade our server and incorporate new software and their fees are very reasonable. I can not recommend them more highly. Even for the individual person with computer help needs can call them and they can remote-in to your computer and correct problems without you leaving your site. I bought my husband a gaming computer for his birthday and when it arrived it wasn’t fully assembled ugh! So I took it to these guys and I was so happy that they were able to assemble it the same day for my husband and they only charged $ 40.

Not a place I’d recommend. This is regarding Advantage Computers on Sierra Highlands Drive in Reno, Nevada. The owner here expects the customer to pay for his(the professional’s) guesswork. Took my laptop in with the screen flickering. He says«It could be the cable, or it coule be the screen, which do you want us to replace first?». Since when is it up to the customer to decide how to fix an electronice device? Well, I agreed to have them change the cable first, which, after twelve days of waiting, did not fix the problem. He charges $ 110.27, and says, «Now we must change the screen, and that should do it». I asked, «So, I’m to pay for the cable that I didn’t need, AND the screen?». He tells me yes, that’s the way we do it. I spent about five minutes trying to make him understand that it’s not right for the customer(me) to pay for his(the professional’s) guesswork, but he insists that I pay the total amount. Right towards the end of the conversation, he half heartedly offers a discount on any further work — no numbers are mentioned, just«a discount». Of course, I told him I wasn’t going to do any more business with a company that expected the customer to pay for guesswork, and I took my computer. I told him he should refund my money, because the computer was still not fixed, he, of course, refused. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, where he lied about 3 different issues. He claimed he had video of the whole exchange which would have proven these lies, but the exchange never got to the point where that happened. He continued to offer a $ 40 «discount» on any further work, which I of course refused, for two reasons, one, I had my computer fixed immediately after leaving his shop, and two, I would never consider leaving my computer with a company who proved to be dishonest, and incapable of doing competent work. If I would have agreed to his half hearted, after-the-fact offer of a $ 40 discount, I still would have paid for a cable I didn’t need, AND the screen which may or may not have fixed the problem. I say again, under no circumstances should a customer be responsible to pay for a professional’s guesswork, AND, if a professional performs work, and it does not solve the problem, then there should be a full refund — but this did not happen. I gave this company $ 110.27, and still had a computer that had the same problem as when I took it in. This guy is as dishonest as they come, and he is slick with his B.S. People, if any company treats you this way, please report it to the BBB, it only takes a few minutes, and, it’s a very good idea to post your experience here at Unilocal.Companies like Advantage Computers do not deserve your business.
