Visited relatively late on a Friday for a light meal — we didn’t want to spend the money on the Chinese New Year buffet next door which was pricey. Café Central had several varieties of «ethnic» food. We ordered Mexican and Vietnamese. What we received was surprising and kind of neither. Huevos Rancheros came with hash browns — a first for me. It tasted pretty good, but nothing like what I expected, and the portions were relatively small. On the bottom were the hash browns, under a small deep fried corn tortilla — could have come pre-fried from a dollar store. There were beans on top, obviously from a can, then another crisp tortilla, then 2 small eggs and then shredded cheese which covered everything which fit within the confines of the round tortillas. The sauce appeared to be from a bottle of hot pepper sauce. It tasted good in a fast food kind of way and as authentic as a Mexican Pizza served at a taco franchise. The Vietnamese Phở was not phở, which I think is supposed to be made from beef bone broth stewed for a long time. The relatively thick noodles came in a decent size bowl in a broth which probably was made from beef flavored powder. My spouse did not like the beef, which appeared to be sort of a Chinese sliced stir fry meat which I ate. I thought it pretty tasty, but for someone wanting Phở, very unexpected. There was a side of sprouts, a sliced jalapeño and some mint, all somewhat wilted but edible. Service was good and the cart bringing the food out was a nice touch. If you are expecting something halfway authentic, forget about it. If you want a surprise, go for it. We’ll probably go somewhere else next time.

My girl and I decided to place a to go order. She had the potstickers and the vegetable stir fry with chicken. She didn’t eat much which is normal, lol, but she wasn’t feeling too good that night. She said it wasn’t bad. I ordered the ribeye with baked potato and mixed veg. I enjoyed it all. We ordered I slice of cheesecake and one slice of Gary’s chocolate cake. The cheesecake was slightly above average, the chocolate cake though, damn it was good! Very Rich of course, but delicious. All in all not a bad dinner. Price wasn’t too bad. A little on the high side for what you get, but it’s in a casino, so that’s the norm. In the end, my girl and I had a great time in Reno and that nights dinner wasn’t too bad. The good news, we just beat the chain requirement going over 80 and my girl feels better now!

My son and I were staying at the El Dorado and we ate one dinner at Millie’s Café there. We were unhappy with their food and service, so the next two nights we ate dinner at the Silver Legacy Café Central. The food was better there, but the service was slow. At 8 pm there was only one waitress on duty. She was definitely overworked, although she remained pleasant. Our complaint was about the noise level. We were forced to listen to loud continuous modern pop music through multiple speakers. It wasn’t just background music – it was dominating and impossible to ignore. We asked the waitress if this music could be turned down, and she told us no. She said that many customers had the same complaint, but despite customer complaints about the loud music and many requests to turn it down, the management refused to lower the volume. So, the customer is always right?

Café central is a great go to place to eat in silver legacy. The food is decent for the price and our service there was the absolute best. Norma served us and she was amazing! Kind, attentive and helped me make my choice of meal that I enjoyed! As much as my boyfriend and I expressed how much we enjoyed our experience at café central because of her, I hope this review is seen by restaurant management and Norma gets the recognition she deserves. We will be visiting café central again as well as tell our friends and family how great the service and Norma really were!

Don’t let the 3 star review fool you. The only reason I am giving it three stars is because of the location of the place and the fries were really good and service was semi OK. This place is located right across from The Brew Brothers, next to slot machines and in between the elevators to El Dolrado and Silver Legacy casinos. I will say that we came here around 3:30am in the morning after partying and gambling so service was decent & got seated quickly. During the normal business hours may not be as quick though. It took semi long to get our drinks, I ordered a cranberry juice and it had a really gross after taste. I also ordered a clubhouse sandwhich, which was just OK, definitely have tasted better. The only very good part of my meal was my fries that came with my sandwich. So would I come here again? Probably not. But I did come here because other than tiny shops that sell snacks, this place you can actually get a meal. If you decide to check this place out, hope you have a better experience than I did.

Open 24hrs. My girl ordered the breakfast burrito and substituted the chorizo for sausage, which was pretty tasty. I had the chicken fried steak. Everything came out to a little over $ 20. Cheap and tasty. Not mad at that.

Please save your money and eat at the other restaurants. The service was so slow and the food was disgusting. We did enjoy watching other customers struggle for service too. Poor little lady across from us almost fell asleep waiting for her server. It really is an odd place. Don’t order the Chinese food unless you want bubble guts later.

We came to Reno for hot August Nights and this place was our breakfast spot twice. We chose this place because it is cheap and they offer a decent range of breakfast items. The staff is friendly enough, but not consistent. The first day we had a great waitress who offered her opinion. The second day our waitress was nonexistent. My Bloody Mary took 25 minutes to arrive. The food is the usual dinner fare. My eggs were overlooked one day and undercooked the next. The hash browns were good both days. It is a decent place to grab eggs if you don’t mind a long wait. Both breakfasts lasted about an hour so don’t be in a hurry.

Ate here for breakfast. I was in desperate need for coffee. I was given a cup and a carafe to pour 2nd /3rd cup. No problem. Then i took my first sip… YUCK it was very weak. Not a great way to start my morning. The food was decent & so was the price. Our server was nice. As soon as we paid I ended up having to walk to Starbucks down stairs to get a good coffee.

Reno is an odd city, everything including restaurants close so early even on Friday. So one is left with choices like café central in a casino. I will only comment on my food since no one else made mention of theirs. I ordered fish and chips. Two small pieces of fish and one was raw inside. the chips/fries too were much too undercooked to the point of no color and as limp as someone in need of Viagra. Also if one more wait person reaches across my face to hand a plate to someone seated on the other side of the table when there is more than enough room for that wait person to walk its lazy ass around the table and place the dish. Well lets just say I might have a spasm that will result in the plate of food back on that wait persons lap. It is happening far too many times of late. aYUP I think that pretty much takes care of it.

First one to be seated, last one to get their order taken. Rude your 5 stars just went down a couple aof notches.

We had breakfast here this morning. All four of us really enjoyed it. I wish we would have went here yesterday instead of the buffet. I had the All American(hashbrowns, eggs, bacon, rye toast) and coffee. Hub aour friend had the chili cheese omelet, and our other friend had the breakfast burrito, which looked great; she said it was the best breakfast burrito she’s had. My only complaint is that my food was not seasoned. I never use salt on my food, but had to with this meal. Maybe they don’t season, but a little salt/pepper goes a long way! Other than that, the service was great — friendly waitress, the refills were plenty. Oh! If you order coffee, you get your own carafe. That’s amazing for those of us who need a couple cups!

I give this place two stars for the simple reason that their pancakes were amazing. The wait to get in wasn’t too long but when we were seated, our waiter didn’t come to our table until 10−15mins later. Yet alone, when we did order, our food took a half hour to come out. My family and I seen other tables get their food before us. Our waiter was attentive to what we wanted and was helpful and super polite. I get that the day after Valentines wold be busy, but they need more workers there. I ordered the Seafood Bowl which basically consisted of half a bowl of rice with shrimp and some veggies on top, not too bad, but I’ve had better. Their pancakes are fluffy and soft and tasted delicious. I’ll only come back to this place for their pancakes, as far as their other food, I think they put MSG in it. I was super thirsty after eating. lol

I’m gonna put my review in perspective. It’s 2am. You’re hungry. In Reno. You’re probably drunk and you want food. This place is open 24 hours and even with its after 2am limited menu, has great selection. I ordered the burger and my wife ordered the club sandwich. We got short rib sliders to start, and those were great. Burger and club sandwich were also delicious. Will definitely make your stomach happy. We came on Valentine’s Day weekend, so it was busier than usual and the wait was about 10min for a table(at 2am). We had Fidel, who was very courteous despite having a lot of tables to deal with. He kept our drinks full and always checked up on us. Overall, very satisfied with this 2am meal. Better than Denny’s.

I’ve been coming here off and on over the years and have had decent meals and good service! This morning was great because we got our breakfast FREE from our Silver Legacy comps :) I knew I wanted to try the Breakfast burrito, sounded yummy! It had chorizo, but more like a sausage chorizo style, I wish they had Soy chorizo but it was still very good because of the Ranchero sauce flavor and Chipotle tortilla! You also get sour cream, guacamole, and pico de gallo salsa on the side. The burrito was big and as usual I only ate half. Also, I tasted the Corned beef hash and it was DELICIOUS, properly cooked homemade. I think I found the«perfect Corned beef hash», finally lol, so much better than Black Bear diner, Dancing Tomato café, and all the other places I’ve dined recently! Yes, I would order this again here!!! Service was wonderful and pleasant :) Overall a great breakfast morning and left satisfied! I’m going to do the comment card for William because he was very nice, calm, patient, attentive, professional and should be recognized for being a great server! Thank you :) There is a large menu out front the restaurant too! You can see they have great American traditional style menu choices of breakfast, lunch, dinner and another section of Asian foods and desserts! I even saw Phở on there!!! If you don’t like buffet this would be a great place to come and dine, prices are not expensive and portion sizes are good! Plus they are open 24⁄7.

Friday night, I had the delicious General Tsao Chicken over fried rice. It was yummy. Then like 45 min later I had the runs wells until 2p on Saturday. I had to stop gambling a hour and half, bcuz it wouldn’t stop. I had to stay near a toilet. Jeeezzzz! I was horrified… I would have thought it was just me, but the other lady that traveled here with me, told me just now her stomach was messed up. Everyone else had wings or burgers and was fine.

Our group of five ate breakfast at 3AM on an early Sunday morning during Labor Day Weekend. It was about 50% filled with customers and we waited about 15 minutes to be seated. Café Central does a lot of things, none of them very well. The Skillet Sensation was fine but took about 20 minutes to come out. Other customers seemed to be waiting a long time too.

Located in the concourse between Circus Circus, El Dorado, and Silver Legacy. Service and host were a little slow for our group of five. Once seated wait staff took a good ten minutes to get any orders in. Another ten minutes before drink arrive and wait for drink refills seemed just as long. We ordered mostly Chinese food for the visit. Appetizer sampler came a while after. A variety of items including some ribs, dumplings, et. Appetizer was more American than Chinese. Flavor was okay not great. We individually ordered entrees. I ordered a combination plate of sorts which has the entrée of chicken, fried rice, among other things. Similarly to appetizer the entrée. Flavor was okay. Little over sauced. Vegetables were fresh. Protein was tender. Meal was okay. Timing for check could have been better. Overall three stars. A little slow service and food was ok. Nothing horrible to lower rating and nothing stellar to improve it. I might try again.

My review is based on having eaten breakfast at Café Central twice during a weekend stay at Silver Legacy. I would classify CC as a greasy spoon diner, except with a nicer ambiance. They serve all American-style breakfast equating to humongous portions. The first morning, I had the Legacy Special Omelet which included turkey, tomatoes, spinach and Swiss. I asked for egg whites only but it looked as if one egg yolk snuck in there. The other half had the Ham Steak and Eggs. Both of our dishes came with hash browns and a side of toast. Typical American bfast filled with lots of calories. It was funny that the«garnish» on our plates were mini chocolate muffins. We both couldn’t finish our dishes, but were energized for our big hike in Tahoe. The tab was around $ 20. Definitely get your value there. The second morning, I opted for a bfast on the lighter side. I ordered the Granola Yogurt Parfait. It was presented beautifully in a large cocktail glass. The parfait was topped with fresh strawberries, blackberries and raspberries. The other half went with the Corned Beef Hash n Eggs and requested scrambled egg whites. I tried the hash and thought it was too wet and mushy in texture. He didn’t mind it though. The tab was less than $ 20 that time. Overall, you can expect typical diner food at CC. It was fine for bfast. The service was always great and we always got our food soon after we ordered. Huge huge portions, but unhealthy to eat there often.

With all the negative reviews one must wonder just what is going on??? I arrived in Reno quite late, so after checking into my hotel I needed to find some dinner. Open all night is the Café Central, located on the mezzazine level of the Silver Legacy hotel. They were pretty busy at 11:30pm tonight, but they seated me right away… my drink order taken and delivered quickly. I ordered the«All American Breakfast»… pork sausage, eggs, hash browns and toast. It arrived at the table timely, was hot, cooked as ordered… and tasty. Service was good, food was good, atmosphere was nice… No complaints, my meal was flawless. I’m thinking that I just may have my breakfast here in the morning.
