Given my not-so-amazing(read: terrible) experience with another tree guy in the city, I had pretty low expectations. Which were promptly exceeded. Called the tree guys at 12:15 on a Tuesday. They answered, came over, and my tree issues were complete by 1:15 the same day(while it was snowing, mind you). They were friendly, professional, and gave great advice. They had just finished up a large job so there was a whole troop of them! Made the job go so quickly and gave me someone to chat with while I watched them work. I don’t have a lot of tree needs, but if I do I will definitely be calling these guys up again.

Called these guys for an estimate on a removal of a large tree on a Tuesday got VM so left a message Wednesday night they showed up at my place at 5pm with no phone call/notice they were coming. middle of making dinner for my young kids. quoted me $ 3000 – 4500! When I said I would call a couple more places they talked down other companies saying they would cost a lot more.(specifically said I was looking at about $ 6000 if I used other places) I had the whole tree removed for $ 1200 from an other company. Way to pricey for the average joe :)

I’m not sure about these other reviews, but I got nothing but unprofessionalism from this company. They came to my door one day soliciting their services, my husband decided we needed a few branches cut off for to the upcoming storms. So I call the Marx owner, only to be greeted with a rushed ‘hello, yeah?’ when I called. I was confused and asked if this was the business owner, he then proceeded to tell me his son was in the hospital and he didn’t recognize the number(if you’re a business owner, shouldn’t you have a business phone to, I don’t know, answer potential customer calls from unknown numbers?) Anyways, we ended up having him and another gentleman come out and give us an estimate. We had a pretty large tree and only wanted to trim off the 3 leader branches and one on the other side that were compromising our rooftop. $ 600 – 675?!? My husband then told them that was pretty steep and we were going to have another service come out and give another estimate. They then asked who the other company was and that they were much more expensive, basically(in a nice way) talking down on the next company to get our business. We had the other company come out and they gave us an estimate of $ 325. Why was the other estimate less than half the price? Weird. Anyways, my husband called them back and they agreed on a $ 300 price to get our business for one side of the tree for them to come by on that Saturday, since they repeatedly said they were a smaller local business and seemed like they needed the business since they were out soliciting. A few days and Saturday go by with no contact from this Greater Nevada company, so my husband calls back to see what’s going on. Marx then tells us that he can’t do the job for the price he agreed on and that we need to find another company. Couldn’t call us to let us know? Funny that we did find the other company and they cut the branches for less than the $ 300 originally quoted. Very unprofessional and over priced, especially for a small business who came to MY door for work.

5 stars just isn’t enough. I woke up one morning to a text from my mom with a picture of what looked liked a large branch which had broken from her tree. Her text said, «Tomorrow, on my day off, I’m going to saw it down to dump!» My mom is a bit older and very petite, so when I read this, I imagined mom with a hand saw in the middle of her driveway and I laughed and responded, «No, I’ll take care of it for you.» I live in Southern California and mom lives in Reno, so I couldn’t just come over and clean it up for her, unfortunately. I first called waste management, they apparently don’t do bulk pickups in Reno. I went onto Unilocal and searched tree removal, stumbled across Greater America Tree Service and gave them a call. Mark, who answered the phone, was very professional and polite. I explained to him the situation, he asked me to text him the pictures mom had sent me. He responded with a fair estimate. Not even an hour later, I get a call and text back to let me know that they had finished. Talk about speedy service. What’s even more awesome is they decided not to charge me. Apparently, the branch was a lot smaller than it appeared in the pictures. So they just went ahead and took care of it. Poor guys spent more on gas money to get out there! Bottom line, I would highly recommend Greater Nevada Tree Service and will be referring them to anyone in Reno that needs tree trimming or removal. Unexpected kind acts from strangers are so rare these days, my mom and I greatly appreciate what they did. Although it may not have been much work for them, it saved me a lot of worrying and saved my mom a lot of physical labor. Thank you again!

Great guys. They came over quickly and since my job was so small, they just took care of my small tree removal. Very nice and cleaned up after themselves. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

The guys just removed several small trees and cleaned up some larger trees that needed shaping and limbing. They were knowledgable and had good advice on what would be best for the health of the trees. I would HIGHLYRECOMMEND them. They were friendly and my yard looked great, they took care to pick up all of the little twigs and blow all the leaves after they were done.

They came out to give us a quote and were able to remove the trees the same day. They cleaned up the entire job site and you could not even tell that they were here. I would use them again in the future.
