We had dinner here on a Sunday night about 10 of us in December and we enjoyed it very much. The service was great and some of our orders were better than others. My 9 year old son ordered the linguini and clams, the portion was huge, took about 4 of us to finish his meal-tasted great. I made the mistake of ordering medium well instead of medium rare rib eye for my dtr and niece, too tough for them. Hubby ordered the rare and it was perfect, moist and juicy. The side potato on the plate was delicious! I had the Cioppino, spicy, but still good. The others ordered fish and chips and the coconut prawns. Overall good experience, our first time to Oceano.

I can’t believe as often as I’m at Oceano I’ve never done a review. So 4 years ago I had a bad experience there but it’s my mom’s favorite casino and girls gotta eat! I can honestly say I’m glad she got me to got back again. The décor is an over-the-top neon aquatic scene with large booths, tables to seat 2 or can be pushed for larger parties(my personal largest group was 8), & a rather large sushi bar. If you couldn’t tell by the name it’s a seafood restaurant. The good: AYCE Sushi — Lunch $ 18.99−11:30AM — 4:00pm/Dinner $ 27.99– 4:00pm– close is available throughout the restaurant not just at the sushi bar. During lunch Hannah is an amazing server and always on top of her game! Lonnie was my last server for dinner; nice guy and I promised I’d mention his name in my review. Check in on Unilocal for free cocktail or beer(yes wine too but that’s not what the coupon says). Amazing bread basket — yes I’ve eaten an entire basket and taken my entrée to go. The menu changes regularly; my latest favorite is the spicy tuna burger! Pan roast are popular but I just can’t do creamy fish. Peppermill comps are welcome . 20% local discount with players card — Just get a card you don’t really need to play to get to the local discount but the local discount & comp combo depends on your card level. Be kind and tip your servers properly. With all the discounts it can get a little tricky! The not so good: It can be spendy The place gets packed on the weekend and service can be slow so sit back, have a drink, and count the neon fish on the ceiling. Spotty phone service so check in before you are seated.

Went here for Valentine’s Day lunch and had all you can eat sushi. The service was great. Servers and sushi chef were friendly and attentive. The food however left a lot to be desired. The mussels tasted like they had been around for a few days and in fact made my friend mildly ill later that day. The other rolls we ordered followed the same patterned and tasted old. The salmon was in fact inedible. So the other food may be great but I would strongly advise against the Sushi!

SOMANYTHINGSWRONGWITHTHESERVICEHERE! Terrible waiter. We wanted to do all you can eat and asked the waiter to name off the things on the all you can eat menu that were NOT raw(in other words, we wanted to know which ones were cooked) Don’t think he got what we meant by not raw. Because it took him a few seconds to tell us. Secondly, we ordered the same fight. Upon arrival, the waiter did not know which cup contained which flavor of sake. Alrighty then! Guess we’ll have to play sake roulette to see which flavor is which then… All you can eat comes with cucumber salad and miso soup. Cucumber salad is NOT even close to being a salad and should not be named as such! It’s literally just diced cucumbers slathered with some rice vinegar. Miso looked watered down and very dark in color and not the regular beige color that is normally associated with miso soup. Waiter was completely ignoring our table the entire night. Restaurant was pretty much empty, maybe 4 tables filled(none of which were in his section) and not once did our waiter look at our table. Don’t know if it was because he didn’t want to deal with us based off of our first request to tell us what the cooked rolls on the menu were or what. First order came and we wanted to put in a second order. He told us that we had to finish everything on the table before giving us another form to get more food. Well we finished the first round and put in an order for the second round. I took 17 min to come! Maybe that’s how they get you… By letting the food sit in your system and then you get full so you can’t order more rounds. Sushi was alright. Thinly sliced fish though. First time coming to peppermill expecting to have a nice sushi dinner and was met with mediocre service. Won’t be coming back.

I ate so much sushi. This was a bad idea. We ordered so much that we had to make a game out of it because we didn’t want any leftovers. The sushi was pretty good but I wish they had sashimi!

Fish was fresh. Service was attentive. A few points of detail could’ve made it better: nori on rolls was in no way toasted/heated, so it came off as chewy. Sashimi was cubed more than sliced. Texture matters a great deal when eating raw fish. Overall a good experience, though.

My husband and I have had the fish and chips any times. Each time I have enjoyed it. However, the last two times we have been here, the Mahi Mahi has been the catch of the day. They use it for the fish and chips and I am in love. The batter is perfectly crispy and cooked to perfection. They also provide both sweet potato fries and regular. Our server gave us half and half. I love the flavor of the sweet potato fries. They are thick enough to actually taste the potato. Our server Barbara is fabulous. She works at the bar so be sure to sit there if you can. She is very attentive and will be sure you are happy during your stay.

Got here at 6:30, told us it was an hour wait… It’s now 8:15… I’m still waiting to be seated. I asked for an update on my table 3 times and each time they said, «It will be about 30−35min wait» wish i knew how the food tasted. I’ll just finish this water I brought from my hotel room. Yum yum yum.

If I could give no stars, I would give them no stars. We came to get our number for our party and they said that it was an exact 1 hour and 30 minute wait. It’s been over 2 in a half hours and were continuously told it’s a constant 30 minute extra wait. My brother and I alternated in checking in 30 minute increments and kept getting +30 minutes. This is ridiculous folks. We see a lot of people coming out and workers clearing tables, but no one is going in. Lines are getting longer and the wait has been excruciating. Thank you for the worst Christmas ever guys! Don’t expect any extra Christmas tips from us! P. S. I’ve been here before after going to the club here last year and the service was impeccable then. Well, I guess the past is the past for this place.

This is the best Sushi Buffet I have ever been to. The price for lunch is reasonable. The employees are excellent. Our chefs Grasiela and Ichiro are awesome. They make the best Sushi. I recommend the jackpot roll(not fried), cooked muscles, and the quail egg shooters. Nikko and Hannah D. were attentive and kind. I’ve been to at least five or more sushi buffets in California and Nevada and this is the best. I cant wait to go back.

Came here for lunch and tried the mango Mai Tai and the sushi combo with a miss soup. For the money I received a good variety of sashimi and sushi and it was all very decent but not standout in quality of fish, as should be expected given that we are in the desert. My favorite item was definitely the spicy tuna roll, which had a surprisingly spicy kick! My drink was nice and strong and the bread was a nice touch. The miso soup was weakly flavored but a good size. All in all the place was decent with fun funky décor, but nothing stood out and the servers were not very competent. I’d eat here again if I had to, but would try the American options. Four stars for value Three stars for taste Three stars for service

I was recently in the peppermill casino for a conference, wasn’t really feeling the buffet so I decided to give Oceano a try. There is an all you can eat option but this time around I elected to just order a couple of rolls to take back to my room since it was already pretty late and I just wanted to watch Thursday night football. I ordered the rainbow roll and the spider roll. The amount of fish on the rainbow roll was kind of skimpy, but the overall size of the roll was decent, a mouthful per slice. Overall for two rolls it came out to over $ 23 dollars, so still quite pricey. If your looking for cheaper eats in the hotel, the sports deli is quite good.

I had a fantastic fish dinner here on my own after Burning Man. The food, service and the prosecco were all delightful! The fish of the day was fantastic — I cleared out my plate. I had a dessert — crème brûlée — which was delightful as well. Overall, I’d be likely to return should I stay in Peppermill and want an in house meal.

Overall, the food was decent. The clam chowder was delicious. And the sushi was good, but came in very large pieces that were incredibly difficult to even chew. However, they lost our order. Twice. And they never checked to see if we needed anything more to hold us over while we were waiting an hour for our food. Finally, they gave us the wrong check at the end. All in all, not an awesome experience.

When I came, I came for the seafood unbeknownst they had sushi and I wasn’t in the mood for sushi. I had the bacon wrapped prawns with sweet potatoes and my friend had fish. He also got the New England clam chowder but I didn’t think it was good for a seafood place. Also, it was very pricey(over 100) for just okay food. The desserts were terrible too. The crème brûlée was terrible. I’m not sure if the sugar under the melted sugar plate was intentional but it was disgusting. It was too, too sweet and not smooth. The cheesecake was alright and pretty big but not good for such an expensive place.

Came here for Happy Hour oysters. Between me and three others, we shared two dozen fresh oysters and two side order of fried calamari. The tables for the HH section is puny. we had to squeeze the table together to create a semi larger table to hold up the oyster trays. The oysters were chilled and fresh, it came with a meshed covered lemon and a sauce platter. I dug for the calamari first and tried the marinara sauce, the horse radish, and a vinaigrette dip. All were tasty, but the spicy marinara was my favorite. For the oysters, I did a simple squeeze of lemon and a dab of sriracha. I wish they had some ponzu sauce which would have given it a nice citrus/soy sauce taste. Our server often checked on how we were doing. We teased him to just take a seat and grab a few oysters when we overheard how he has been working long hours. :P The ambiance here is relaxing. There are hanging artificial fish and in the center is a real aquarium with live fish swimming about. Sadly we were too full to try the buffet here, so I’ll write about that on my update once I give them a try.
