First bar I tried in Reno and its awesome! They have great drink prices and they just added a new sound system which sounds great!

Jon is the best bartender ever and he’s so hot he literally did us the best service I love him and I’ve never felt like such a special customer before. He makes me feel addicted to this bar. I need to come back. He’s great, alcohol is great. Music is great. Lights are great. It’s ridiculously great.

Literally a great place to drink with your friends. They play the best music of everyone’s choice. Well put together club and I go to a lot of clubs. Super laid back and fun. You’ll definitely have a good time at anytime of the night.

I was just here supporting one of my DJ friends spinning on a saturday night (Shift) — underground house music, and after reading reviews before going here, i new i had to experience for myself.
Its not a fancy club with high end décor/​furniture where a dress code is enforced. Its a lounge/​after hours spot thats real casual-​basic/​lighting/​sound is ok. Staff was kool and friendly along with the vibe since i came from out of town.
My only dislike about the place was that there is smoking allowed inside which i don’t smoke and could only stand it for so long as I had to leave. Otherwise i would have stayed longer. Coming from the Bay Area/​club and underground scene, i have been used to seeing the smoking section outside and or in a designated area with good ventilation.
There was no cover charge when we got there around 12midnight so not sure when they do or if they still charge on certain nights as others have mentioned.
If they ever decide to not allow smoking inside, then i don’t mind going back, but if your a smoker and or don’t mind it then its a place to check out.

Love this bar its my go to bar number 1, bartenders are super friendly the drinks are strong everyone that works there makes it a super rad fun environment love it especially for a 1^st time in reno T. Went on a Tuesday night and the place was completely empty. My girl friends and I were let in for free (as we were dressed up and looked really good I presume). Bartender was super friendly; however, I do have to question his bar-​tending skills. He promised my friends to make them strong drinks when in reality they tasted like juice. His pouring spouts were not really working so that could have been the cause. Overall, if you enjoy listening to AFI and don’t mind having the place to yourself then this is the place to go. Don’t expect to dance or get drunk here as the music is not really DJ style and the drinks are not strong.

This place never seems to be able to impress me. I’ve been in a few times, and after my most recent visit, don’t intend to return. My group and I stopped in during Santa crawl. There was a line to get in and they were charging a cover to anyone who didn’t have a Santa crawl cup. After a few minutes of standing in the blistering cold, they let us in. The girls quickly grabbed a seat, while my buddy and I went to get some drinks. Instead of using our cups for one of their «discounted» specials, we opted for some bottled beers. There was 4 people behind the bar and only one of them was doing anything. After 4 – 5 minutes of trying to get her attention, we finally got our beers. I decided to check in on Unilocal,and noticed that they were offering a free «sexy shooter»…(I think is what it was called). So I headed back to the bar to check it out. I was hoping to buy 4 and possibly get the one for free. After standing at the bar being ignored for another 5 minutes or so, I decided that it wasn’t worth it. The part that pisses me off is that while I was being ignored, others were walking up and getting served immediately. Anyway, as other reviewers have mentioned, this place definitely attracts some sketchy looking folks. The fact that it smells like cigarette smoke worse than any of the casinos was another reason we decided to finish our beers and leave ASAP.

Dante is the best bar tender in town… not to mention the coolest! It’s a fun place to hang out when there aren’t a bunch of punk ass kids there trying to be tough.

I visit Reno from Portland a lot and I when I got out there, I always go to tonic, we always dance the night away, the drink specials are great and inexpensive, and everyone who works there is super nice and fun!

Because it was Sunday, and all the hotel nightlife dies before 2am — my new found very friendly man and I took a short walk from Silver Legacy to Tonic Lounge.
We were greeted by a punk rock Midwesterner bartender (and I only know because he saw my ID from Wisconsin and we bonded) who was very polite and threw on some dancing tunes for me and my one night beau to dance to for the next three hours.
And oh, did we dance.
Great booze, friendly staff, a dance floor, and personalized dance music = HELL yes I’ll be back.

This is one of those bars we usually end up after a long night. Beers are cheap, bartenders are cool, details are sketchy.

Filthy and Shady. Nothing but trouble here really.

Now… This was a few years ago, so perhaps things have changed… But I don’t think these types of establishments should get forgiveness.
The late aura of this «fine» establishment entices the out too late and couldn’t get to sleep if they wanted to alike. The long bathroom lines are only shortened when sniffing, glossy-​eyed, patrons are done with their business.
This bar, however, gave me a night I will never forget. In 2005 a friend and I wandered in for a late night nightcap. Approximately 15 seconds after entering both my friend and I were «sucker-​punched» without warning or instance. Granted this much may have not been the fault of the bar itself, but their actions that followed on their part was deplorable at best. As my friend and I bled from our faces profusely, the bouncer tried to force us out of the bar with the statement «you’re bleeding on the floor.» Additionally, he was very quick to clean it up, assumabley not for hygiene purposes as they are clearly not concerned with such manners. Additionally, the management did not even try to cooperate with the detective sent to investigate the crime. They simply had no recollection of anyone getting, the police showing up, or two patrons leaving in an ambulance.
Well, after a bit of self financed reconstructive surgery I thought I would share with all the fine people in the cyber review world. Like I said things may have changed in the five years but it’s probably not worth the risk to enter a bar that will glad take your money and than leave you out to die.

Maybe I’m just a delicate flower or something, but this place is gross. Sketchy crowd and constant police presence. Bathrooms are beyond filthy. They always charge a cover. Even if it’s only $ 5 or $ 10, it’s never worth it.

Tonic is that place you end up at when it’s 3am and you’re too drunk to realize you’d be better off just going home. They charge a cover everytime I’m there. Bars should not ALWAYS charge to get in. That’s ridiculous. Yeah, I know you have to pay the DJ and the seven burly bouncers but This isn’t a nightclub, it’s a bar. Charging more than one night a week is ridiculous.
The music is mediocre, sometimes there will be a good show though. Drinks are bad! I ordered a gin & grapefruit juice and for some reason the bartender put sour mix in it! Wrong. Most recent time I was there a huge fight occurred. They decided it was time to close up, instead of simply telling the crowd, «Sorry time to go!» They all started yelling, «GET THE F*&%K OUT!» It was unnecessary and rude!
This bar has almost no redeeming qualities except the fact that I’m bound to see a bunch of people I know and like.
