I needed some new strings for one of my guitars and happened to notice what appeared to be a hole-in-the-wall music shop near where I live. Well it turns out that they occupy two units in this secluded strip mall, and it was a legit guitar store. The number of guitars(see photos) threw me off big time. I jammed out for a bit because I am also looking to add another guitar to my collection. The staff knows their guitars and how to play them. The sales guy helping me out knew everything about the make and design of the guitar I fell in love with. It was the Taylor 360e and had an amazing sound. It had a fair price tag of $ 1799 with the case. But, the guitar that absolutely blew me away when I played, was a Santa Cruz! The model was OM Grand, a full body. Guitarist, or guitar enthusiasts even, you need to play one of these! My budget was under $ 2K or I would have bought this pricey jewel.($ 4680) Taylor, Fender, Santa Cruz is basically their selection. But, that selection was quite nice. If they also carried Gibson I would give 5 stars.

There isn’t enough room on Unilocal to give these guys all the praise they deserve! Local owned and operated with an amazingly helpful staff. 1st time I went in I was contemplating purchasing a classical guitar. Tony was unbelievably helpful to the point that he spent a bunch of time coordinating with the Cordoba rep to get the guitar I wanted. Best purchase I have ever made. Crazy gorgeous Madagascar Rosewood body! Customer for life. Super happy to see quality local shops like this still exist. Please go spend your money there!

Great selection of merchandise. However, I stood at the counter, and the clerk, who was busy looking through some boxes, didn’t even say, «I’ll be with you shortly.» I left, and bought an electric guitar at The Guitar Center instead. A Sharp missed out on a $ 1000+ sale. I’t’s close to home, so I’ll still buy guitar strings there, but someone needs to talk to the staff about customer service skills.

Knowledgeable, helpful staff. Good prices and comprehensive selection. I’ve been a patron for years, because every time I shop around I never find a reason to pick anyone else, including Amazon.

I know I’ve written great things before, and I wanted to complete that again. The telecaster that I was building from parts, well, I did all of my own work on it, but I had some issues with my tone knob. I set up my own intonation and it sounded close, but just didn’t quite get right. I was going to leave it there around the holidays, but there was a week backup on repairs, so I was impatient. So this last week, I brought my tele in, told them I wanted a setup and that I had my tone knob issues. I was quoted a half hour of labor and parts on top of my setup, and told them to call me when they found out what was wrong with it. The next day, to my surprise, I received a call telling me that it was done. I asked about the tone knob work and the simple reply? «Oh, it was just a post issue with the wiring, we cleaned that and some of your other solders up, and it was less than what we thought.» Genius. Cannot recommend them enough. My only complaint is if you ask a question about gear they don’t carry, they don’t seem as well versed in it, and the reply is «Well, we don’t believe they’re as good as ____________.» I understand there’s a lot of gear out there, but you can win over more service by being knowledgeable across the board. I don’t fault them on that, half of the people at Guitar Center do the same exact thing…

I purchased a Taylor acoustic guitar from these folks, and the entire experience was fantastic — Their set-up on the new guitar, a fine adjustment a couple of weeks later, all performed with a positive and friendly attitude. These folks know what they are doing — even though they are a good distance from where I live, this place is MY guitar store from now on — I like the way they run their business! Thanks Tony and Derek R. for making it such a pleasure to do business with you!

Nice guitar shop. Service is great, and Tony is the man. It beats the big box atmosphere of other local guitar shops with the cool and friendly vibe.

This is a really nice local music shop. They have a great selections on guitars, I haven’t really looked at the rest of the things but I think I saw drums and a few other instruments. They also have an OK selection of sheet music. The best part that I found was that they have a section in the back where you can take lessons from outstanding people. It took me forever to find someone who actually knew how to play classical guitar, I wish I had gone here months ago.

A Sharp Music is the best guitar store in our region. The owner Skip creates a personal relationship with his customers then makes sure the get what they need. Skip’s talented staff can do anything including making that ugly scratch look better. Thanks for all you do.

A# is my all time favorite guitar shop. They have great high-end gear that you won’t find at the big-box stores. The entire staff is friendly and knows their stuff. And again, unlike the big box stores, it’s not a constant cacophony of commotion… you can actually evaluate gear without having to strain to listen though the buzz of the«Drop D Club» that is jamming in the next aisle over, if you know hat I’m saying. Highlights: Grosh guitars, Tortuga pedals, R. Taylor Acoustics. Good stuff.

I’m very fond of A Sharp Music because it harkens back to the pre-Big Box chain music store era(who shall remain nameless). They’re not big although they have a substantial inventory. I think there are two things that really set them apart. 1. Their staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They’re the kind of people that you would trust your most expensive equipment with. They’re not pushy and they’re actual musicians. 2. They stock high quality and niche stuff. Are you looking for boutique or hard to find guitar pedals? They probably have them in stock. Are you looking for George L’s cables for your pedal board? They have it. Do you want to test out a $ 3,000PRS hollowbody in a store that is not already throbbing cacophonously at 112 decibels? This is the place.
