I came here for an all-ages dance session on a Friday afternoon. I like that they played clean music and the teens were under control. The owner was very friendly and so were the other dancers. The dancefloor was spacious and featured large mirrors. Their CryOut! program has been doing great things for the Renton community. I’m happy it’s here!

Harambee is one of the more quality venues in the Seattle area. Planted right on S 3rd st in downtown Renton, you will not miss Harambee’s golden-orange painted building with Harambee painted ont he side. The word Harambee is a Swahili word that means«together pushing forward,» which truly embodies what Harambee is about. Harambee is committed to the development of the Renton community and serves it with many programs that truly are a service to the area. Of the programs that are housed at Harambee, they have an aafter school program and studio which are run by Cry Out!, a weekly homeless dinner run on Saturdays by The Refuge and a monthly open mic run on the last friday of every month by Cultivate. I know that the venue has been used for lots of events and would be a great place to have a wedding reception or concert. Go stop by Harambee and check out the venue if you like local spaces being utilized for the community.
