This place became a habit, fast. A co-worker recommended it, and I’m glad we stopped in. The atmosphere is excellent. Bring quarters for the jukebox.

Pros: Variety, big portions, unique dishes, healthy options and comfort food in one spot. Easy for vegetarians or carnivores. Cons: The taste doesn’t always live up to the description. Fries were barely warm and tasted like they were sitting out for awhile. Tzatziki sauce is far from the real thing. Veggie burgers cost as much a real burger. Service was questionable; plenty of staff but the waitress seemed lost. We had to ask to have our drinks refilled more than once and she showed up at the table seemingly forgetting why. And we were seated without knowing who our server was. Full disclosure: I’d only been to Silver Diner once before, but at a different location; the food tasted fresh and service was good considering how busy they were. I wasn’t as impressed by the taste or freshness of the food at this location. Bonus: We got to see Mandeep Shrestha, the Operating Partner. If you don’t know who I’m taking about just check out the website. The guy truly lives up to his title and expectations; he comp’ed an entrée and took 10% of another tables check because the kitchen had incorrectly prepared an order. He even stated that food is their number one priority. He bid us a good evening too.

Solid option for good food, moderately priced but not cheap. Decent diner ambience. It’s a diner theme. Some barstools along a diner counter, mostly vinyl booths that seat 4 – 6 people. There’s a little«jukebox» at each table like in the 50s. The food is quite good, service always friendly, and even the wine and beer are good — so that’s a step above diner food for sure. Much of the food is local, and there are healthy options. They have crayons and trinkets for the kids, who all like the place. Very extensive menu, from omelettes to breakfast all day, or a steak, or a Reuben. Open late for post-celebratory crowd who need some grease after a night on the town. Parking is pretty easy, though can get a little full as they’re often busy.

Went for a Sunday brunch today and the place was packed. We were seated in 10 minutes. Very quick and efficient. We had an awesome server and the food was fantastic. Very surprising for how busy they were. Will definitely be back soon.

I went there with my boyfriend before and it was delicious! We’ve eaten here for breakfast and for dinner and both were very good. the atmosphere was classic diner, but had the feel of a nice restaurant. I ordered the fish and chips for dinner and pancakes for breakfast. Made to order, farm fresh, great way to start my move here from North Carolina. They even have wine and beer there as well so if you want anything of that sort you can get it there too! They have everything you could possibly ever want there, and are moderately priced.

I went there solo on a Sunday morning to get breakfast. It was very busy so I sat at the counter. I ordered a coffee and the corn beef hash with poached eggs with the yolk liquid. The coffee came and it was very strong, more like Starbucks versus my favorite, Dunkin’ Donuts. Since it was so busy, I understood my breakfast taking 30 minutes to be delivered. I could quickly tell that my eggs were well done, almost hard boiled so I promptly told my server to bring out two more eggs. It literally took 20 minutes to deliver 2 properly poached eggs, meanwhile my breakfast was ice cold. Such a disappointing first visit to the Silver Diner that gave me no reason to return.

I am seriously disappointed with Silver Diner. I dined last night with my family and specifically asked for a gluten free bun when I ordered my burger. When my meal arrived, I could immediately tell that the bun was not gluten free just by looking at it, even though the waiter tried to tell me that it was. I have eaten here several times and know the difference on looks alone. When another gluten free hamburger came out to the table, the waiter could finally tell the difference. That was the first f-up for the night. Fine. Understandable. Things happen… however, when you mess up somebody’s order with a gluten allergy, you need to remake the entire meal which they SHOULDHAVEDONE. When my meal returned I assumed it was remade and chowed down… 15 minutes later my stomach started to horribly grumble which is the sign of impeding gluten shits doom. When I asked the waiter if my meal was remade or if they only changed the bun, he straight up lied to my face. When I had to leave early to go home and blow up the toilet he finally admitted to my family that the meal was not remade and they only switched the bread. What is wrong with people!?! Thanks to you I am now on day 2 of the shits and feel awful. GLUTENALLERGIESAREREAL. Please respect that and do not lie when you mess up.

Silver Diner has changed a great deal from when I was a kid, but honestly in most ways for the better. It’s elevated a lot of its menu and ingredients, but still does up the classics well. It still has that standardized nostalgic touch and feel that makes for a fun outing. Its a fun place for children and easily accommodates groups of 6 or less. The wait(especially on the weekend) can be a pain, but they move quick and efficient whenever possible. The seating is booth style for the most part, but there are tables and bar seating as well. The food is tasty and comfort style, and I honestly always go for the bison rancheros or Country Fried Steak. Their burgers and shakes are also great. Prices are super affordable endless coffee is always a plus.

We love going here on a lazy weekend morning for brunch and lots of coffee. We’ve never waited there for longer than 10 min and if you get there before the church and soccer crowd, there is never a wait! Friendly staff, reasonable prices, large portions, and fresh food! Doesn’t get much better than that. Minus one star because I once came for dinner and it was like a different restaurant… strange crowd.

Perfect choice to bring my teenage daughter for a lite dinner. The atmosphere was fun, there were jute boxes at every table with a nice selection of oldies. The menu was varied enough to serve her limited interests, and my growing waist band. When the waiter brought an order of chicken fingers, on his own, he noted there were not enough and so brought a second order on the house. When was the last time you received that sort of service? The milk shake was thick, and we were given extra wide straws to conveniently slurp it up.

This is a decent spot for a late night dinner. My wife and I went here on a Sunday night when most other places in Reston were closed. The service was alright, and there was not wait, which we liked. I had the coffee to start, which was decent, but nothing spectacular. They service breakfast, lunch, and dinner while open. The menu is actually fairly huge. I tried the burgers which was solid, but nothing that you can’t make at home. There was nothing special about it in anyway. I also had a coup of chicken noodle soup because of another review on here, but I was not that impressed. My wife had the waffles, which was not something she would get again. It was fairly average. Overall, a decent diner choice, but not something I would go to if I had the choice of another restaurant in Reston. If it is a late night, this will likely be my go-to spot.

Silver Diner was my first meal after a long flight from China. It was night time, snowing, I was hungry and it was cold. The only thing i wanted was a cup of hot chocolate and a good meal. Imagine how happy I was when I saw they were open. That night, I slept like a queen.

Consistent and you know what to expect. Good diner food, service is hit or miss. Extensive menu that should enable everyone to find something to their liking. Overall a strong recommendation. I just can’t bring myself to give a diner fiver stars. But it’s a good place. I’ve been to many, many worse«diners.» This place is in the family’s regular rotation with multiple visits each year.

I’ve never felt the need to update a review before but I feel I need to be more fair to silver diner. So my daughter absolutely loves silver diner. So we visit often. I left tonight feeling really satisfied with our decision to go. Once again I had chicken noodle soup for an appetizer. Their chicken noodle soup is hands down the best in town. It’s perfect. Then I decided on s cheeseburger. I had no idea it would be one of the best burgers I’ve had. It was delicious! I’m finding myself excited to try something else that I haven’t had at silver diner before. As usual my daughter had pancakes and the pancakes are always very good.

I’ve been here many times for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Mostly because I lived nearby and this place is open 24⁄7. There is a wait if you come for breakfast/brunch on the weekend but any other times I’ve been we were seated in a minute or two. On our most recent visit, I had the country fried steak with potatoes and my boy friend had the one of their specialty omelette with side of fruit. Country fried steak was thinly battered and fried well. Their gravy was super delicious, and certainly made the food outstanding. Service was okay, kind of slow and not as attentive. Waitress seemed really nice though but had to wait around each time we needed something. It was super hot inside for some odd reasons and I was so hot, it was almost uncomfortable. They do have a lot of options to choose from though but most entrees I tired Id give a B– or C+. Price range from 10 – 20.

Your experience starts at the front of the house, and that’s where Yesha and Helen make you feel at home… clean, friendly and fast to your table, even when the line’s nearly out the door… the waiters/waitresses, food runners and Managers all are truly concerned about your experience… the Fresh Menu and local items are the true gems… try them… I love the Bison Huevos Rancheros… yumm… Silver Diner in Reston is the Best Diner in NOVA!

Been a while since I have eaten here. The health shake I got was amazing lumps of strawberries and banana. So good. Also the chunky monkey shake was just addicting. While I was eating a little boy had a birthday and to make it extra special the staff all sang happy birthday and guest could too. I sang along because you only have one birthday and everyone’s is special. I thought that was awesome. Not all places do that. Silver diner is doing great things. 5 stars from me

This Silver Diner is constantly busy and as such service can be hit or miss. The food is good, the menu is brand consistent and even if service is slow I haven’t ever been disappointed with the quality of my meals. I love that the Silver Diner uses locally sourced food on all of their menus and their kitchen turns out lots of healthy, as well as your not so healthy, diner favorites.

If you’ve read my scathing review of Amphora Diner in Herndon, you can guess that the only diner in Herndon I go to now is Silver Diner. Get this — Silver Diner also has a frequent diners club — you can bet your butt I’m a card-holding member! So what’s the deal with Silver Diner? A healthy diner? Fresh, local food? Gadzooks! It’s shockingly good. And how novel to go to a diner and walk out feeling the same as when you walked in, not like you’re about to heave a heart attack. I usually order breakfast food — the caramel French toast is AMAZING. Definitely my favorite, even though they charge so much extra if you want strawberries on it. The omelettes are really good too. As for drinks, go with the mimosa(it has fresh strawberries), or a milkshake if you’re not concerned about your waistline. As for the service, it has always been so friendly. I particularly like Giovanni.
