Really good food, have been looking forward to trying it. We drive by all the time and have kept meaning to stop we finally did and it did not disappoint. The wife had the carne Asada and I had some platter that had a little bit of everything on it. definitely going back again but will have to brush up on my Rosetta Stone Spanish before I go back

weird place. weird location. a little uncomfortable inside. the one waitress that was working was really nice though and the food was pretty good too. i had enchiladas that were delicious and my girlfriend had chix and beef tacos and everything was nice and fresh on both plates and the portions were plentiful but the chicken and steak on her tacos was really tough, almost like jerky. you really had to gnaw at it to get it down. i dont know maybe thats how they do it in columbia and thats how it was supposed to be. i couldnt ask the server either because i dont speak spanish and she didnt speak english. anyway, all in all it was okay… i guess i would go here again… if i did id get the enchiladas again.

After many cold months of stepping off of buses to be greeted by the heavenly smells around La Fonda, I finally took the time to give it a try. They primarily serve Colombian food and their menu is primarily in Spanish, so I needed a little extra time to sort through the English that was on the menu. I settled on the Pollo Apanado, which is breaded chicken served with rice, beans, salad and fried plantains. Every part of the meal was fantastic. The chicken was the star of the meal, it was tender and moist and the breading was light and wonderfully seasoned. The salad was a typical side item, but it was done really well somehow. And, I have to admit, their gently seasoned pinto beans take the credit for me finally introducing beans into my diet. The place was small and intimate enough that I felt like it would be rude not to try everything on my plate, so I tried the beans… and loved them, to my surprise. So I guess you could say that La Fonda made me a better person. How’s that for a review?
