I gotta tell ya, it was great in 1982!

If you’re in a band, do not play here. We came from California and were treated horribly. Sound man couldn’t figure out how to make 2 vocal mics work, no drinks for the bands, total attitude, they charged 12 $ at the door & we had to wait around until the bitter end to get 30 $. The way they work the door is like a coked out Hollywood promoter from the 80’s. They don’t care about building a scene or having regulars, just their bottom line for the night. No long term vision. This place will probably go out of business the way they run it. There will be no audience for your band unless you bring them yourself. Promoter told us, «who cares about $ if you have a good time.» We did not have a good time.

Every day this month and last I’ve been going there from 6−9pm for rehearsals
No fighting on Fridays anymore –each of our shows have Security (real tight).
They still have live hip hop shows on certain Friday nights (no fights) still, as a matter of fact, we have a show tonight @ 10pm (never drama) now
With our security-​you can’t even get close to the group (Ha Ha) they will break you:)
So don’t listen to this old news –I just gave u the updated REAL news. No credit cards– but they do have a working ATM. Our last show ended after 11:30 –club
closed at 1pm (still no fights)

Oh for fuck’s sake, Sammy’s. Just close this place already.
Went last night for a so-​called White Party for their anniversary. Walked in and there were dollar-​store grade helium balloons on silver string floating around the ceiling and the place was decorated like a fucking high school remedial class party. They laid out trays of Ritz crackers, Cracker Barrel cheese cubes, bruised and rotting fruit that someone picked up from Haymarket at the last minute. I used to go to this shit-​hole back in 2002 when those little watered down drinks in Dixie cups were only $ 5, now those same little Dixie cup drinks are $ 11…wha!!! There was no soap in the women’s restroom. After midnight the DJ finally started getting good and all of the lights turned on at 12:40 with the doorman screaming for everyone to hurry up, finish your drink and get out. 12:40 they shut down. Fucking 12:40. Still doesn’t accept credit cards and no ATM.
Best part of the night — the old pervert leering from across the bar sticking his tongue in his cheek signifying the universal gesture for a blow job.

I’ve never had a problem here, I go there every week. Not your typical spot for live music, it’s unlike any other bar you’d ever go to on the east coast. Great place to catch a live rock band or metal show. There’s live hip hop on Wednesday nights and a fight never breaks out. Rock shows on Fridays with either a line up of good local rock or metal bands. Although during live performances there is a cover charge. This bar has come a long way from what I’ve heard, and what I’ve seen is nothing but a good time. There may be some regulars that would seem a bit shady to someone who has their nose to the sky, but, what bar doesn’t?

Go here if you want to be treated like dirt and called rude names by the management, staff, promoter, whoever they are.
Does «scumbag» = «sorry man, can’t do that»?
Apparently being polite is not one of their core business values.
Doesn’t take credit cards, had a broken ATM.
(Got accosted every two feet when I stepped outside to
look for an ATM. Ladies, don’t go alone!)
Appeared to be full of «underage looking» or «barely legal ho’s» (they were friends with the band or staff, however I got carded hard)
and don’t forget the «over the hill perverts», and «intimidating bikers».

Well, I went here a couple of times almost a year ago and on Fridays and Saturdays there were promoted events with mainly kids from college. No cover if you were on the guest list and decent music. The drinks were cheap and the girls were always half dressed. Now, the place is horrible. Anyone with any form of ID fake, paper, made at home, a library card can get in here and drink. Last time I went I was watching my 17 year old cousin go to the bars and swill down vodka red bulls like it was nothing. At the end of the night there’s 20 cops outside and always a fight. Stay away from this place all together. It’s just lame. And the people that go there are the epitome of scum. Could have been a great place but greed and self indulgence got the best of the owners/​promoters.
