Nice menu and environment. We had a great waiter named Yuanitto who made conversation and was very attentive. Everyone’s meal was good and looked really nice coming out of the kitchen. Vegetable tamales were great. Beef tacos had a good flavor. We will definitely return.

Recently moved to the area and needed a good TexMex place. We found it! We’ve been twice now and loved the food both times. Like the other reviews say, the queso is awesome! The wait staff is quick and attentive, but also have been really personable and friendly. They have happy hour all day Monday and good drink prices even when it’s not HH. Would recommend to anyone!

Great Lunch Place! I tried out Amigos the other day for an office lunch — I liked it. Not particularly by the food, but by the prices and the amount of food we got for under $ 10. The best way I would sum it up is $ 8.25 for anything you want. The aback do enchiladas were amazing, as was the tortilla soup. It is small, not too busy, decorated kind of cutesy, with spicy salsa that I thoroughly enjoyed. The only downside was the tiny salsa cups(the small stainless steel ramekins many places serve ranch in). However, I had them bring me out a few extra, so it was okay. I also loved how timely it was. Literally, we were in and out in well under an hour — which is great when you want to have a quick lunch without letting your inbox run away from you on a busy day. For lunch, I will definitely be back. However, I cannot say I will be darting there for dinner in the near future.

As culinary brunch formulas go, quality tends to decline exponentially as value increases — like the left side of an inverted bell curve. Amigo’s is a glaring exception. My wife’s $ 9.99 fajitas were the best she has ever tasted … and she’s picky. With four tortillas stuffed, there was still plenty of beef left on the platter, and this was well prepared quality skirt. The platter arrives with the usual accompaniments including guacamole at no extra charge. My Bob’s Enchiladas($ 7.99) were also great. Two over-easy eggs lazing over two chicken enchilada’s that were swimming in this insane tasting chipotle(cream?) sauce — yes insane I tell you, insane. Came with beans and rice. I requested borracho beans — you should too. The chips are crisp, warm and tasty. The red salsa is worthy of immense praise and accolades. As cheap storefront Tex-Mex spots go, this is as good as it gets.

Overall(5 stars composite score): Standout performer that tips the scales on all criteria. Must go if you love Mexican food and great Mexican hospitality. Sadly, I would not recommend this place to anyone. If you want the details, keep reading… Party of 4 people. We ordered queso blanco for an appetizer. It had nice flavor but was extremely thick and just warm. I ordered a margarita on the rocks, which was fine, no complaints. I also got cheese enchiladas topped with mixed fajita meat. The beef was better than the chicken, for sure. I couldn’t even swallow the chicken I tasted. It had a strong flavor to it, as if it was made the day before and reheated. Barely any sauce at all on the enchiladas, which made them dry. The rice was fine and the beans were plain ol’ beans, nothing special what so ever. Another person in our party had a burger. He said it was«edible» and the other two had combo fajitas. They didn’t eat their chicken either. They serve store bought tortillas, I asked. If you go here, honestly, all I would recommend is their rita, chips & salsa, & queso(make sure it’s hot) I’m sorry, Amigos. I really wanted to like you.

I was surprised to find this nice little gem near my neighborhood. Service was great, fast and friendly. The salsa was personally my least favorite thing(too much cumin). Everything else was great. They bring a complimentary nacho to you that was delicious. Started with bean and cheese nachos and split the sour cream chicken enchiladas(comes with 3 which is too much for me). Both were delicious! I also had a michelada that was perfect. Will def be back.

I try to stick to places that have good ratings and lots of them. Took a chance on this place and flew in blind. Where are all the good reviews coming from… are you people nuts! Bland, flavorless food even my kids would not eat the burgers they got. The standard for mexican food must be pretty low in Richardson.

Amigo’s has been delivering restaurant greatness since it opened. I have been going since they opened and it’s always great. I went back early on a Sunday for brunch. The Bob’s Enchiladas are one of my favorite dishes in DFW. Chicken chipotle enchiladas topped with fried eggs. Always delicious! Combine that with friendly, good service and ridiculous happy hour drink prices and you can’t miss!

We ate here a few months ago and really enjoyed our food. We went back tonight and may never forget tonight’s meal. The food was awful. I ordered the Enchiladas Mexicana. The menu described them as queso fresco enchiladas on a bed of lettuce with potatoes, carrots and jalapenos. What I got were chicken enchiladas and I think there was a little queso fresco in one of them. Dry chicken, dry enchiladas, smothered in jalapenos on a bed of wilted shredded lettuce. I did find a little shredded carrot on the side. Tasteless potatoes. I poured the salsa that come with the chips on the enchiladas so they were edible. My husband ordered the Brisket Enchiladas. He had two comments. The food was bland and tasteless. He will never eat there again. The salsa with the chips was good. The chips were stale. Did I say the food was awful? It was extremely loud this evening. We couldn’t hear each other at all. The service was very bad. I don’t know what has happened, but this is now one of the worst restaurants we have ever been to.

Service was really good, food was alright, ambience was no good. For some reason they had karaōke going on last night. It was extremely loud and ruined the experience. The chips were extremely stale. I will say the hot sauce was great, and I liked the beans snd rice.

Disappointed. I have heard only great things of this place for years. Maybe it was because it was a to-go order but it was my first time trying it. The order consisted of sour cream enchiladas and beef enchiladas. Honestly both I and my boyfriend thought it was pretty bland. They gave us a full bag of tortilla chips and enough salsa for two chips. Sooooo skimpy on the salsa, but that hardly mattered because the chips were so stale we almost broke our teeth. So thanks Amigos for a very disappointing Sunday dinner. Sincerely, Mr. And Mrs. Disappointed

Service was 4 stars! Food was two stars. Had the cheese enchiladas. Tasted like they were frozen and reheated. Tea was super sweet but I like it that way. My son had the salmon enchiladas. I think I would go that route if I ever went back.

Great food coming from a great family. The only downside is the chairs. They are a little rigid and stiff for my bad back. I prefer dining at the Frankie’s in Sachse, the chairs are soft and its closer to my home.

We met some family on a Saturday for lunch. We came for the queso and boy, did Amigos deliver! Until 3pm on Saturdays their serve their«brunch» menu which includes some classic breakfast items, some Mexican breakfast items(Migas, Huevos Rancheros, etc), and then most of the standard Mexican dishes you’d expect to see on the menu. We ordered 2 large quesos for our table of 8 and were so pleased to finally find queso blanco in Texas! If you’ve only ever had queso that looks orange, you are truly missing out. The queso at Amigos was just what we were looking for… delicious! Also until 3pm on Saturdays, is happy hour! Margaritas were only $ 3! I ordered a frozen margarita to celebrate my birthday, they came to the table quickly and were very frozen indeed — the outside of my glass got nice and frosty. And for those moments, the world was the way it should be. Our food was great– I had the nachos which are served individually prepared. Total of 6 – 8 large chips on the plate. I love the individual prep nachos and was very happy with my selection. My husband had the soft pork tacos and enjoyed them as well. The total tab for our table of 8, including at least 8 margaritas, two large quesos, and 8 entrees was only $ 100! It was amazing! I only wish this place was much closer to home as we’d be back all the time. I definitely recommend!

I ordered the sour cream chicken enchiladas meal. I was a bit surprised when my order arrived. I wasn’t used to seeing that type of sauce on my enchiladas. Usually the sauce is creamy and very cheesy. This was all sour cream. Nevertheless I decided to be adventurous and dig in. To my surprise it was tasty! At first I thought it was kinda bland but after the second bite I really started to enjoy my meal. The salsa is really spicy but when I added it to my enchiladas it made it taste even better! I cleaned my plate! My meal came with rice and beans. The beans were better than most Tex-mex places and the rice was average. The service was very quick which is great for a Friday evening! My only complaint is the chips. They were too thick and didn’t taste good at all. The spicy salsa helped but I would pass on the chips! Next time I come I want to try the queso blanco!

BEST. TEX-MEX. EVER. Want amazing food and drinks for a decent price? Sign me up. My girlfriends and I always come here for their Happy Hour. After a long week at work, their margaritas are always calling us to come back. The drink specials are great with $ 3 wells and $ 4 margaritas. Love it! Their food is amazing! You cannot go wrong with anything on their menu. I’ve had their chicken nachos, enchiladas, fish tacos, you name it. Service here is decent. Depending on who you get, most of them are friendly and very personable. :)

We came here on Thursday night with a few of our friends. We made sure to come a little early for happy hour. The drink specials were great with $ 3 well drinks and $ 4 margaritas. Our server was friendly and fairly attentive. I ordered the chicken fajita soft tacos with just rice. Delicious! I loved the seasoning on the chicken, but I wish it would have come with some type of cheese. I also ordered two strawberry mango frozen margaritas with sugar. These were delicious, too. I was charged an extra $ 1 for the extra flavor making the margaritas $ 5. This is still a great deal but I wish they would have told me it was an upcharge. All in all, great food, great atmosphere and great service. I can’t wait to come back.

Amigos is ok. For lunch, they are not a bad option, but it’s definitely not something to write home about. Since my coworkers like this place, I have been here a few times, and have had a few dishes: Chips and salsa: 3 stars. Just ok for for both. Food: 3 stars. The first time I was here, I ordered the Caldo de Rez since this place seemed to be more of a Mexican joint than Tex-Mex, but I gotta say, it was very bland. Caldo is supposed to be rich in flavor, but this was not. If I were just going off of that, the place might get two stars. The tacos barely meet 3 star standards. The enchiladas definitely meet 3 star standards, but not quite 4 stars. A co-worker of mine ordered the Mexican Lasagna, and I must say, other than looking like it was 2,000 calories(too many tortillas), it looked quite tasty! Maybe I will get that next time. Service: Hit or miss. I’ve had exceptional service and poor service, but I’ll give it 3 stars. Conclusion: just an average Mexican restaurant. If you’re in the area, it might be worth trying for lunch/happy hour, but if you’re on a hunt for best Mexican food in Richardson/Dallas, keep searching.
