I’m pregnant and my body shifted causing this massive nerve pains. There are days I can’t walk. I’ve crawled to the bedroom from the bathroom at times. Anyway I got referred to Dr. Fowler by my amazing masseuse billy from Allen massage envy who used to fix all my problems until I got pregnant. Now he can’t go deep tissue and stretch me like a rubber band so he recommended chiropractic care alongside side prenatal massages. I was desperate and scared & said — what the hey I’ll try it. Dr. T Fowler might be the nicest doctor I met. I mean all my MD docs are super nice but I’ll tell u why. Obviously I couldn’t do a X-ray cause I’m pregnant so he had to do everything by feel. It felt worse initially but when I told him I didn’t have an ice pack he just gave me a new one to take home & didn’t let me leave until he iced my back. Then asked me to call him if it gets worse after a few hours. I was so busy walking around uptown pain free that I forgot to call him so he called me!!! My backs been so much better… Until this weekend. He was upset I didn’t call his office Sunday when I told him I had to waddle into church cause of back pain then it got worse cause I was at church in nonstop meetings… He’s not open on Sunday’s but said he’s in the office on Sundays so I should call. Thats so nice! Dr. Fowler and his wife are super friendly people! Jasper the doggy is SOCUTE!!!

Let’s start with why I’m here. I’ve been having back pain and the wife bought me a groupon deal for an exam and X-rays to Harrington, so I thought, I’d give it a try. Our money is already spent, so waste not, want not. I’ll write exactly what I told Jason, I believe was his name. «My brother is a real doctor and he thinks all chiropractors are quacks.» He reassured me that chiropractors go through the same amount of training as medical doctors. His story checks out, if you’re curious. I’m a huge fan of fact checking. So he asked me why I was there and gave me his sales pitch. He says, «I can relieve the pain, or I can treat the cause and eventually the pain will go away.» Me: «What’s this going to take, doc?» Him: «Probably adjustments two to three times a week for a month, then once a week for 6 months, then we’ll see how far you’ve come.» Me: «Okay, but what’s this going to take financially?» Him: «Most insurance will pay, your portion will be approximately $ 20 each visit.» So, I’m not convinced, though he does take X-rays and shows me that my hips are not level and the back pain is my body compensating for that. He also suggests that my spinal and neck curve has been compromised and he’ll need to help me with that too. Of course, this is a consultation, so he doesn’t adjust anything and he doesn’t give me any exercises. I left with my X-rays and he said he’d call to follow-up on my decision for treatment. I wasn’t sold and I guess he must have picked up on that, because he didn’t call. It was freezing cold in there.
