Wow. Great food. Great service. CLEAN restrooms. Not a huge crowd at 11 on a Sunday. Real home cooking and GREAT prices.

They rarely bring both orders TOGETHER. My son m hot his burger about 5 minutes before mine was served. Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. But the burgers are good for the price.

We visited this storefront breakfast café early on a Saturday morning and found friendly service and a comfortable setup I had the three items for $ 5.49. Tastes were generally good, and portions were sizable. Two items of caution — stay away from the corned beef hash and be sure to dab your sausage patties.

Location isn’t ideal but that makes the place kind of a rough gem in a gas station plaza. I say rough gem as they could use a bit of polish. Sadly, the day my family of 3 went. We had to wait about 5 – 10 minutes for 3 different tables to be cleared. After that we had to wait at least another 10 minutes for someone to grab our drink order. All in all, we were there about 25 minutes before we ordered our food. Within that time additional staff came to assist. We were there roughly at 9:30am on a Sunday. Food was good and great portions. No complaints there, if we try it again, hopefully we won’t have the same wait considering tables were available. At the end of the day, it’s an american grill breakfast. Good portions, decent service, and good prices. Couldn’t ask for much more.

I found this place on Unilocal and decided to come in on a Saturday morning for breakfast with the fam. I came here due to the great reviews it received. Needless to say i was disappointed. The food was average a t best and the service was not good, our waitress took forever to take our order and and it was just not very inviting. I would look for somewhere else for breakfast, it has potentail but it needs better friendlier service and more fresh food. By the way its not all fresh made as some reviewers have indicated.

What a great spot for a meal mom would make weather breakfast or lunch everything is fresh and well cooked. I had the lumber jack breakfast basically 2 eggs any way you want with hash browns and 2 of every kind of meat with pancakes! Pancakes are so good and made from scratch! Service is very fast and they take good care of you! Sat down ordered had my meal before I could finish my first cup of coffee which was very good! Took my son here another time we both enjoyed it !

Unreal, one of those spots that you would never stop at but you are glad you did. Located next to a 7 – 11 hole in the wall. But the food is outstanding, portions are big enough for anyone. Make this one of your favorite breakfast or lunch stops. Can’t go wrong.

Yum! This is a gem! I was looking for a breakfast place, looked at Unilocal and found this wonderful place. Don’t let the location next to the gas station fool you — the food is wonderful and you can also sit down at one of the many tables w chairs if you like. Or you can get it to go. For $ 5, I got scrambled eggs, hash browns, oatmeal and big bottle of orange juice. Great food w simple and fresh ingredients and nice people. Wonderful place!

Food — 5 Service — 4 Value — 5 We stumbled on this place because the place we originally wanted to go to was closed today. This was a great choice on a cold and rainy day for either a hearty late breakfast or a filling lunch. My wife got some breakfast items(eggs, hash browns, french toast and sausage) and she seemed to enjoy it. I got a patty melt and fries(looking back I should have just gotten the cheeseburger and fries). The patty melt was really good, but a cheeseburger would have been $ 2.50 cheaper and it would have probably been just as a good to me. This place is a little far for us, so we probably wouldn’t go out of our way to come here again, but if we are near the area we’d certainly stop by again.

This place is right next to the 7 – 11 in the gas station-strip mall. The portions are big, prices are cheap. Food is also nothing extraordinary but consists of typical American staples. Nothing is high quality here, but it seems to fit the bill for affordable comfort diner food, and I haven’t seen any in Dallas that matches this place in terms of both portion and price. The pancakes were nothing to write about — a little on the salty/savory side even if the pancakes were well made. Want the recipe? It’s written on the wall, literally. And I saw even a kid get a Micky Mouse pancake to get his day started. Super cute. I also saw that there’s pumpkin spice pancakes in the menu. Interesting. Hash browns were not toasted enough to my liking since it was pretty thick. Eggs were great. Hard to mess up scrambled eggs but I was pleased here. Chicken fried steak tastes good even though it looks premade. Although it’s thickness make me think otherwise. That being said, the breakfast burrito is probably your best bet here. You can add an avocado for a 75 cents up charge too. The service was friendly and all of the workers are teenagers or folks just starting in their 20s. This also seem to be run by a Vietnamese family since there were a lot of Vietnamese workers. I wouldn’t be able to tell just by looking at the menu though. And the ambience is clean, updated, and organized. Good for families with children, especially for those who just need to save money without compromising on a good meal. For a quick, filling, and affordable breakfast on those days when you don’t really want to care about anything, this is a decent place to be.

Pros: –large portions –the hash browns and biscuits taste great –ham and sausage are also pretty good –affordable Cons: –the pancakes weren’t fluffy and the maple syrup had a sort of synthetic taste to it –waiting staff was slow and kind of inattentive –coffee was bitter, even for someone who takes their coffee black Bottom line: not a whole lot better than ihop

I have visited this café twice now, once for Sunday breakfast and once on a Tuesday for lunch. I had eggs, bacon, sausage patties, hash browns, pancakes and the breakfast burrito on my first visit. At lunch I stopped in and placed a to go order for the 3.99 cheeseburger and fries advertised in the window. Presentation of the establishment was clean and simple, a little sparse and there wasn’t anywhere that didn’t make me feel like we were in the way if waiting for a to go order. At breakfast we were told to choose a table and be seated. We were helped by a very young but attentive and pleasant staff. The water is terrible but that is a City of Richardson thing that you are probably aware of if you have had tap water anywhere in this city. The food seemed to be quite slow to be served given that only half the tables were occupied. We were pleasantly surprised with the taste of all the ingredients. Everything was fresh and made well, we really enjoyed the value for what was on our plates. At lunch the place was quite a bit busier but the amount of time it took to make two cheeseburgers seemed inappropriate. A small mixup also occurred and some to go orders of bacon cheeseburgers went out to a patron that ordered after we did. Again the burger seemed to be comprised of fresh ingredients and I enjoyed it. The fries are nothing to write home about and were a bit soft and saggy. Overall a great value and food that tastes great. However the speed of service could use work but perhaps they are still looking for their stride.

This place is a small mom and pops diner. They serve breakfast starting at 6am and serve lunch until 3pm. If you are on the service road of GBT you won’t miss the red sign. I’ve seen this place on my way to work and decided to finally give them a try. I had the breakfast combo for $ 5 which comes with any of the three items on the list. My choices were eggs, hash brown and pancakes. The eggs of course you can’t go wrong with that. The hash browns were the normal shredded kind but it was lacking a little bit of salt. The pancakes weren’t too bad but they were fluffy. With the meal you get a regular bottled drink like oj or milk. For the price the food was good and the portion size was excellent. The wait time wasn’t as long for a kitchen with one chef. Yes there’s only one chef in the kitchen and he might be the pop. The mom is out serving the customers and taking the orders. I’d never expect to see this type of a restaurant in the middle of houses and buildings. But being in a middle of a bunch of companies is a plus because the place was packed with people wearing casual clothes. I’d like to recommend this place if you’re in for hot pancakes.

I love this place. I’ve had both breakfast and lunch here. The prices are fantastic and the food is fresh. They have real cream for your coffee and real butter for your toast — that is something you don’t always get at a big chain. The staff is kind and attentive. My coffee cup is never empty. One of the things I like the most about Hot Pancakes is they don’t rush you out the door. They don’t bring you the ticket to suggest your time is done. When you are ready to leave you just go to the register where your ticket is waiting. Even when it is busy, they make you feel at home.

This breakfast place is awesome! Staff is friendly and fast. This is a small place but the breakfast and lunch is amazing. I know the owner I used to work for him when I was in high school I just recently visited his sister store which has been in Garland for many years. The Garland Café… very popular place. Burgers are awesome and all the breakfast items are great! Have to try this place…

My work«Lunch Bunch» has been here twice now. I almost hate to put this review up because I don’t want this place to get crowded, it’s pretty small. This is the kind of place I love Unilocal for. A small place putting out great food with super duper service. And it’s also very inexpensive. I had the catfish plate both times because it’s the best around. Wonderful cole slaw, homemade hush puppies, yummy fries. Deliciously battered fresh catfish, so good. Co workers have had wraps and burgers, all were good. Waitperson sate so nice and know the menu well. They also serve breakfast all day. Good stuff.

Hot, fresh, fast, and good. Just what I needed on Monday morning heading into the office. I wanted to try something different and it’s only a matter of time before this place is a local favorite. As soon as you order the order is given to the kitchen and you can see them going to work to make your breakfast hot and fresh. And the prices! Wow! You can’t beat it. I had the breakfast burrito and it was wonderful. Next time I am definitely trying the CFS and eggs, looked delicious!
