I read the reviews and went to try the Bun Bo Hue and Bun Thit Nuong as recommended. They were horrible — meat with a lot of fat and broth isn’t flavorful. I said no vegetable for my BBH and yet I found some bean sprouts and green veggies. Some parts of the noodles were hard and some were soggy. I would not recommended this place to anyone. Service was ok. Outside look kinda shady, but pretty nice and cozy inside.

The flavor of my phở was good, I liked the broth. My beef, however, was really chewy and fatty. Phở is harder to appreciate when you aren’t a fan of the meat in it. My husband ordered one of the rice dishes and said his dish lacked flavor. He essentially poured sriracha all over it to help it out. Service was awkward and lackluster. Don’t expect a drink refill or a smile.

The place looks really nice, but that’s the only good thing I have to say. Three of us got phở, and we have been eating phở for a long time and we all felt immediately that the broth smelled off and tasted unclear. In addition, my friend asked for shrimp spring rolls and got pork ones. When we asked again for shrimp, they gave us re rolled spring rolls and they found pork in them… AGAIN. The vietnamese coffwe sucked and came out after 45 minutes of waiting. Another friend got the Bo luc lac and it was severely undercooked. The waitress was really kind but she seemed really overworked. After all this, I get why it was completely empty on a Saturday night!

I’ve been here a handful of times and have always had a great experience. It is tucked away and hard to find but it’s worth the hunt. The restaurant is clean and spacious, unlike other Vietnamese places in the area. The menu has a lot of variety and everything that I’ve tasted was good. The steaks are surprisingly good. I was hesitant to order it as it’s not a typical steakhouse but it did not disappoint. The marinade was tasty and different. I’ve ordered it a few times. I’ve also had their phở which my twins love. That’s a good sign as they are pretty picky eaters. Mu husband usually goes for rice dishes and hasn’t complained. I’ll definitely be back!

I came out tonight with my husand, who has been here before for lunch. The waitress was very nice and helped us order. I had a grilled chicken and shrimp salad with vermicelli. My husband had #47 pepper steak. We also ordered the cream cheese egg rolls. Everything was delicious! Customer service was great! We will definitely be back!

If you’re craving Bo Luc Lac/Shaken Beef, this place will not disappoint. This is the only restaurant I’ve been to that’s consistent with its bo luc lac dish! The meat is ALWAYS juicy, flavorful, and«plump.» If you’re cutting carbs like I do sometimes, you can request them to make a bo luc lac salad! It’s served on a bed of lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, and bell peppers. They give you so much meat that you can eat half of it and save the rest for another meal. The owner(or owner’s wife?) who always rings me up is really sweet, and she always makes an effort to get to know me. Keep in mind: I always order To-go/pickup…So I can’t speak for the actual service/sit-down experience. Five stars for consistently delicious meat.

Excellent! A must go for those wanting some very good Vietnamese food in Richardson! The service was great! I go here often because they have such a good chef there. Their soup dishes are very tasty and full of flavor. One of my favorite rice dish is Bo Luc Lac! Try it and you won’t be disappointed! Their other rice dishes are very good as well. The lady server there is very nice and friendly! She usually pack your leftovers if you let her. Go there and taste for yourself!

The food is great, but the customer service is fantastic!!! They are soooo sweet! They pack your food to-go SO carefully. Like she put my soup in a container, then in a plastic bag, then in another plastic bag haha. She also wrapped my bread in the paper bread wrap thing(sorry for a lack of better words) too! Seriously, I have not been anywhere that does this. I ordered food to-go another time and they packed everything so neatly, labeled all the containers, and also put newspaper in the bag for us(probably so we could lay it out and put our food on there so we could clean up easier)!!! :)

Nice and quiet place to have a bowl of BunBoHue. I love their BBH and BunThitNuong, they are my fav dishes to order here. It is huge inside and the décor is ok, they don’t really have a lot of customers, but the quality of their food is great– I would say!

This restaurant looks very shady from the outside but it’s much much better looking in the inside. I went here for lunch during the weekday and there were few tables with guests but because there are lots of tables at this restaurant, it looked kind of empty. There are plenty of seats for large groups. I ordered the spring rolls and Banh Canh. The spring rolls had shrimp, pork, noodles, and lettuce. When I touched the spring rolls, it was really cold like it was out of the fridge. But the texture and taste was okay. They are just the typical spring rolls you expect at a Vietnamese restaurant. The Banh Canh has thick noodles that’s like udon noodles but thicker. It also has pork parts and shrimp. The taste was okay. The noodles were very chewy and appetizing in the beginning but halfway through my soup, I was getting tired because the noodles were so chewy. But I would definitely recommend this to someone who hasn’t tried thick noodles at a vietnamese restaurant. The restaurant is definitely for Vietnamese people because some menu items didn’t have english descriptions and my waitress didn’t really know english. But body language goes a long way. Overall, I’m not sure if I would go out of my way to come to this restaurant but if I am passing this place or my friends want to go, I would come again. Not the best vietnamese restaurant I’ve been to but not also the worst. Hence, 3 stars.

Surprisingly good off the beaten path place to have dinner. It was hard to find this place, and the restaurant was very very quite for a Friday night(only 3 or 4 tables). I did like the noodle dish I had it was very tasty, the soup’s were very traditional and had good flavor. The food came out hot which is a high rank in my book. The service was super friendly! Recommend and will be back!

I wrote a review back in 2012 and I’m so glad to see Saigon Noodle still in business. The steak is always phenomenal. Sometimes there will be a little too much fat or tissue in their meats and that can happen, but after eating here for two years, I can honestly say that I have never had a bad dish. The food is always very good or excellent. I just wish they had Banh Mi sandwiches! Here is what I have tried. * Shrimp spring rolls * Cubed steak & rice(Com Bo Luc Lac) * Saigon style ribeye * Texas style ribeye * Seafood Phở(Phở Tom) * Grilled & Shredded Pork Vermicelli(Bun Thit Nuong) * Grilled Chicken & Shrimp Vermicelli(Bun Tom Ga Nuong)

I called this place to see if they were open this thanksgiving and was told on the phone that they were closed. After placing a pick up order at another restaurant I had to drive by here to go to Genroku. When I drove by this place was open, open sign on and a ton of cars out front. Maybe they were having a private party and if so, tell me that on the phone, don’t tell me your closed. If you are having a private party tell me that instead of saying you are closed and see otherwise when I drive by. This was going to be my first time to try this place and that just ruined it for me. Therefore I will not try this place even though it comes highly recommended. Bad review for you!!!

The place may not look promising because of the location but DAYUM the food is good! So far, I love the fried rice and bo luc lac there because they both have that smoke-y flavor! As for the service, it can be a LITTLE slow because the wait staff consists of 1 person, with the owner occasionally helping out too [she’s the chef I’m assuming!]. It’s understandable though. Hopefully this place gets more popular so the wait staff can increase! :D

CAMEBACKINAUGUST2014– their bo luc lac was very inconsistent. Some were tough to chew, some were raw. I was disappointed. Their phở was delish though — — — — — — — — — — — Order any of their steak dishes(bo luc lac, kabobs, etc)…you won’t be disappointed. You wouldn’t think the restaurant is so nicely decorated just from looking at it from the outside. Spring rolls are wrapped like how I would at home – sloppy–(but hey, still tastes good). Banh canh broth is flavorful. Most places make it bland. Was a little disappointed with their banh mi op la — comes with 2 eggs, cha(vietnamese ham), and cucumbers. The description said eggs, sausage and bacon. Plus, you have to put the sandwich together yourself — as the bread is on a separate plate and ingredients on a separate plate. The french bread was fresh and delish though! Will definitely come back for more of their steak dishes!

Food here is good and authentic. Nice décor and very clean. Try the bun bo hue or bun thit nuong! Cons: they don’t clean the dishes off their tables as quickly and service can be slow. Owner is nice! Nui xao bo luc lac is okay. Too heavy for me to finish in one sitting. Pasta is too soft for my liking, but the shaken beef was cooked well. Soft and moist!
