I hadn’t been into a staples in years. They have everything you would find in an office. I actually was impressed. I didn’t find it hard to find the things I was looking for and there wasn’t a lot of random workers walking around asking if I needed help. I will stop back by if I have to, but to be honest I just went here because Walmart and Best Buy was further away.

Unfortunate customer service experience today. A marker/pen exploded all over my pants. All they would do is swap out the pen sets. Only one of the pens was defective — the others all worked but they wouldn’t hear of it. Manager Steven wouldn’t even contemplate other options. Certainly different than other customer service stories I have read here.

I made a reservation for an HP Deskjet 2540 that was on sale and in stock for pick up at this location three days ago. I still haven’t received an email yet I checked the product page and the price has jumped 2x the sale price. Staples, improve your availability monitoring and if you don’t have it in stock, simply send me an email notifying me. Don’t keep me hanging.

The best service I’ve ever received at an anywhere. Each employee that helped me seemed genuinely nice. GENUINELY nice. Went in to buy a computer chair, was told right away where to head. Francisco, the guy helping me with the chair, was EXTREMELY nice. BESTSERVICEEVAR!

Had a difficult phone experience so went into the store. Employees very interested in assembling displays. Waited for assistance and finally had to wander around looking for someone. I like their products and store layout more than the competitors. Gave the assistant manager a hard time but he eventually made everything all right.

I needed a task chair for my new desk. Because it seemed like the only task chairs on Craigslist came from the 1950’s, I decided to hit up some local retailers. My options were limited around where I live, but I decided to go to this Staples because of some deals I saw on the Staples website. I came around 20 minutes before closing so the store and parking lot were relatively empty, though the parking lot was retardedly large to begin with, as the store is kind of small. I have never been to a Staples before so I didn’t really know what to expect. The first thing that happened as I walked in was a guy immediately asking me what I was looking for. He then promptly guided me to the chair section. Easy. He then kind of talked about chairs for a while but I wanted him to go away because I like figuring out things myself. While examining the chairs there were a couple things that were bothering me: 1) The cheapest chair that I was eying on display was wobbly and when I asked an employee about it they mentioned that it was because people have been sitting in it for months. Okay great, so that implies that when I sit in this chair for a couple of months its going to be wobbly? 2) They had this hilariously expensive chair that was made completely out of metal. 3) One employee was talking to another about the products at Staples and I overheard the phrase«Haha, at this store? Yeah I bet.» kind of condescendingly. I didn’t know what the context was, but it sounded like the employees do not believe in what they are selling or Staples was selling/doing something stupid, which is not a good sign. 4) There were also some chairs that seemed like good deals that were listed on a poster but weren’t on display. I asked an employee about them and said that he was just about to set it up. Really? Five minutes before closing? It’s okay, you don’t have to lie, just say you haven’t got around to it yet, I understand, no big. 5) As I was checking out, one of the guys was really pitching me to get the 2-year warranty on my $ 40 chair. It was no-hassle and all that jazz. It just really seemed like he was expecting my chair to disintegrate into a million pieces as I pressed my butt into it. I politely declined and went about my way. Anyways, this store does deserve some credit. The first guy was very helpful(I don’t think he makes commission either) as long as I was in the store(though this could be attributed to the fact that the store was about to close and they wanted me out asap) but he even offered to carry the chair I picked out to the front desk for me. Building the chair was a breeze and it has been pretty good so far, exactly what I expected out of it. The store also seemed well-stocked and most of the deals online were honored in store, though the prices on most other office supplies are probably more than anyone wants to pay for paper. Also, the store offers to build your furniture for you for a price. I would advise against this unless you are disabled and have no one to help out, as any able-bodied 10 year old can figure out the instructions. The service was good but some of the stock was overpriced and the employees didn’t believe in the company. I will probably come back if they have good deals again online, though.
