I got these message from Groupon yesterday: «We are writing to inform you that, unfortunately, Vitality House Café has closed. While most of you have already redeemed your Groupons, we know that some have not, and we want to get your money back to you as soon as possible.» This is unfortunate because I really liked this place and definitely saw myself being a regular customer here. I loved how the nutritional information was provided on their menu. Wish more places did this! This is a great place to go if you are looking for a guilt-free, healthy meal that doesn’t lack in flavor. We went here for lunch for the first time the other weekend. We ordered the sweet potato waffle, fish tacos with grilled halibut, and breakfast tacos. While we waited, the waitress brought us mini zucchini carrot walnut muffins. Everything tasted yummy, and it was clean and healthy! I would definitely get the waffle and the fish tacos again. Our waitress was friendly, and service was fast. I wish this place was still open!

*(Star rating N/A) I bought a Groupon and was looking forward to trying this place, especially after reading the positive reviews about the gluten-free items. Groupon just sent me an email offering a refund, since this place has closed. They quote«financial reasons» on their facebook page. I guess good Unilocal reviews alone can’t save a small business. *sad face*

Yummy and healthy? I’m sold. Pancakes were great, and even the picky 8 year old that follows me around liked hers. Might have to return for dinner sometime soon.

The food wasn’t horrible nor especially delightful. I would have given it three stars but am taking away one star for the SLOWSLOW kitchen service. And there wasn’t even a wait for tables! In a span of 20 minutes, I watched only one appetizer and one four-person table receive their food from the kitchen. Otherwise the only thing going in and out of the kitchen were the wait staff dropping off tickets and coming back with drinks. It took us about 20 minutes to receive our appetizer of JUST chips and dips. Why… I have no idea. We were there for nearly over 1.5 hours b/c of slow kitchen turn time. I would have ordered a dessert but I got tired of sitting there. The husband got the bison burger. It was a little on the small side and kind of dry. We’ve had much flavorful versions elsewhere. I got the turkey chilli relleno and it was very good. The side offerings of spanish rice was unremarkable. Another plus is that this place is BYOB. Red wine would be a good accompiament to alot of the dishes. I would eat here again but with a groupon only and will call in my food before making the drive. Maybe that will help the kitchen.

My mom and I decided to venture out for breakfast one morning. There was only one other patron in there besides us. The waitress/hostess was very sweet and immediately seated us anywhere we wanted to sit. I ordered the tofu scramble while my mom ordered pancakes. Our food smelled yummy and hot! You can’t even tell you were eating tofu, the balances of flavor and texture were really well put together. I plan on coming back to try out their dinner menu.

Nothing extra ordinary, but nothing bad either. The taste wasn’t over the top, but it wasn’t bland either. However the fact that the food was decently tasty in addition to being really healthy, is remarkable. Keep it up.

Went for brunch on Sunday. The place was busy but there wasn’t a wait. We ordered, got our starter — pita with red pepper hummus and guacamole. We chose pita, but received half pita, half chips. Not sure if the miscommunication was between us and the waitress or the waitress and the kitchen staff. Then our meals arrived — 2 orders of spinach eggs benedict with portabello mushrooms. Although the menu did not make any mention of a bell pepper garnish sprinkled all over the entire plate, it arrived as such. I asked the waitress about it(being allergic to bell peppers myself) and she said it was stated on the menu(incorrect), but agreed to have it remade for me. I have a strong distaste for restaurants where the menu description omits ingredient items, especially at a ‘healthy’ place where you’re supposed to have some clear understanding of what you’re ordering. The waitress returned a few minutes later with a ‘new benedict’ which was actually the old one, rinsed off, eggs cold, spinach watery. As a result, the food wasn’t actually warm, palatable, or wanted. I ate it, but more out of boredom than desire. To top off our experience, my dining companion found(and repeatedly chewed on) a piece of plastic that was in her food. The waitress tried to convince us it was cheese(also not a listed ingredient of the benedict) but then gave up on that idea and spoke with the manager. The manager took the other benedict off of the bill, and we used the Unilocal 15% off, but it still ended up costing more than anyone wants to pay for a meal where you a) don’t get what you order, b) are given the run around by the wait staff, and c) end up with cold/rinsed off food. I definitely will not be back Vitality house and I strongly recommend that anyone that goes there interrogate the wait staff regarding what is actually in the food prior to ordering unless you want a repeat of what happened to me.

The Vitality House is an unexpected gem tucked away in a Richardson shopping center. The service was a bit slow, but we were also dining there on Father’s Day at noon and the place was full. The restaurant feels brand new and has a colorful, casual but modern style to it. The menu had a great variety for vegan, gluten free, and healthy brunch and lunch fare. I ordered the Salmon BLT sandwich which I really liked. It was well-seasoned with blackening spices and a generous portion of guacamole spread. I had the sweet potato fries on the side which I also liked. I will definitely be back to try more on the menu!

As much as some might disagree, healthy CAN Be tasty. Vitality House is a great example of this. I found it on Unilocal and I knew I had to check it out, so we convinced my husbands family to have our Mother’s Day breakfast there. It’s actually a pretty cute little place, with nice colors and light. The atmosphere is clean and pleasant. They had a pretty good crowd going on Mother’s day, even early in the morning. As a vegetarian is always exciting to find a place with a lot of options. They are very vegan friendly and they also have lots of options for you gluten free folks. They’ve even got Bison meat for those who swing that way. I found our service acceptable and our waitress was pleasant. I had a Chris’s favorite frittata and a small yogurt parfait and I loved both. I had no complaints with my food at all. The one reoccurring comment over the table was that the black beans everyone received were a little under. Perhaps they were out of time and it was a no beans or underdone beans situation. All the adults liked the flavors of the food, but the 11 and 13 year old at the table(used to typical unhealthy foods) weren’t in love with it. I definitely plan on going back to Vitality House. I can’t wait to try some of their other options.

Thought of trying some place new for Brunch last week and came across this place. The place is bright and inviting. Service was good, we were seated immediately, the waitress refilled our coffee thrice and the order came out perfect. The mini muffins they serve are super tasty. Ordered 3 items — Coconut Blueberry Pancakes — Never had coconut in pancakes but it did add a different texture, the agave nectar was not sweet which I liked. Overall, the pancakes disappeared in a few minutes :-) — Steak and eggs — Hubby told me that I have to particularly mention that the steak was very good, had a all-spice kind of a rub over it. — Chris’s favorite frittata — It was super moist and went well with the salsa that came on the side. Very filling with the toast and a cup of fruit it comes with. None of their food is greasy or dripping with sugar or filled with salt. They maintain a good balance of serving healthy food which tastes good.

Edible. We had this catered for breakfast at work. I was initially excited about the bison breakfast tacos, as well as the turkey sausage tacos. I would certainly not say they were«bad,» but they were very uninspiring. The French toast casserole was good. Would I order food from here again? Probably not, when the most exciting part of breakfast was the turkey bacon.

Wow… what a great find! Vitality House is just what my girlfriend and I were looking for. We have both been trying to maintain a healthy diet, but really wanted to go out for breakfast one morning when we had errands to run. I found the other good reviews for Vitality House and we decided to try the place out. I’m so glad we did. When we arrived, we were greeted by very friendly servers who seated us promptly. I was surprised that the place wasn’t busier on a Saturday morning at 9:30 given the high marks others were giving the restaurant. Overall, the inside was modern, clean, and comfortable. The servers were all extremely friendly and prompt. As soon as we were seated, we were offered coffee with a choice of about five different«creamers» including low-fat milk, nonfat milk, soy milk, and almond milk. We went with the almond milk and we were not disappointed. I also ordered a glass of orange juice which seemed to be fresh-squeezed. Before our meals arrived, we were given two small muffins, which I believe involved zucchini and carrots. They were excellent. The menu had so many choices that are not really standard fare at other breakfast places, so we were both excited to try something new. My girlfriend went with the Spinach Eggs Benedict, which were fantastic. The portobello mushroom complemented the spinach and egg so well that the meat was not missed at all. I went with a custom made omelette, choosing sun-dried tomatoes, avocado, mushrooms, bison sausage, and mozzarella, with a side of turkey bacon. The omelette was prepared perfectly, utilizing just the right amount of mozzarella and vegetables. The bison sausage was lean enough that the omelette was not greasy in the slightest. The turkey bacon tasted just like the kind I buy at the supermarket, but was prepared to just the right crispiness. I really can’t say enough about the excellent service. The guys working were all extremely outgoing and friendly, and made sure that our experience was a good one. We are looking forward to returning and trying some of the other intriguing menu choices, both for breakfast and lunch. I’m so glad to have this great little healthy restaurant nearby!

Bruschetta yum but tiny. Oatmeal yum and grande. Breakfast tacos, also yum. Would be 5 stars if not for the super awkward host who was biting his fingernails and that the music was on 10 minute repeat. Fix those two problems and you have a GEM!

The menu looks super tasty and yummy! The bfast Bruschetta was a yummy appetizer but not a meal. The oatmeal was plain and simple, perfect really The Breakfast taco was more like a Burrito but also yum. They have a full coffee bar as well, with multiple milk options(Soy, almond, 2%, etc) The music was SUPER annoying. Repeated the same songs over and over. Get rid of the nail biting adolescent boy as the host(or explain cleanliness to him)

An oasis in the land of deep fried Twinkies. Dear owners, what were you thinking? This is Texas. We don’t do healthy. But seriously you can almost forget that this place serves healthy fresh food. The taste is all there and the only thing you may miss is the half and half for your coffee or butter for the really awesome sweet potato waffles with mixed berries. We also tried a couple of the frittatas(Chris’s Favorite and Stephens Favorite) and they were both excellent and perfectly portioned to make you leave feeling content. No beef here just bison but that’s equally good. Stephens Favorite with the bison and 3 whole eggs was 347 Calories and the veggie Chris’s Favorite was 216 Calories The Mrs had something which came with mashed cauliflower which you could have easily mistaken for mashed potatoes. Same taste without the calories. How cool is that! The coffee comes with 1% milk or coconut/soy/almond milk. Missed the half and half here. BYOH&H They have some great lunch sandwiches which we need to come back for. Average price for brunch with coffee or OJ was about $ 14 per person. Not bad for a healthy meal and we left satisfied.

I found this place here on Unilocal when me and my girlfriend were looking for a brunch spot before church. When I did the search on my iPad we were just across the street literally. We were excited when we found Vitality house. The décor is fresh and clean with sleek bright orange oversized booths, and key lime green walls. On the wall hung professional black and white take photographs of healthy veggies. Now personally I would give my omelet 5 stars. I defiantly recommend the that. Its the same price no matter what you put in it so its a great deal at just 10 $ there are 10ish veggie choices. 5ish meats, and 6 different cheese selections. So if you want you can have everything at no extra cost. I got mine with all the veggies, Bryson sausage, and Gouda cheese. It was gigantic filled with things like sun dried tomatoes, spinach, and mushrooms pouring out as I cut into it. Served with a peice of dry wheat toast, it was heaven in my mouth. However my girlfriend ordered egg whites, turkey bacon, and toast. Hard to mess up right? Well the eggs were extreamly undercooked and uneddible i tried a bite but could not eat them. She asked for some ketsup also. They had a homemade«healthy» ketsup that was nasty. When the waitress came back she brought me a ramekin of pico that had been put through what looked like a coffee grinder and came out like baby food. It had no salt or seasoning and was a very bland. But I give the server an E for effort. She was very nice. Food 3 stars but could have been 5 so let’s call it 4 Service 3 stars nothing special but I will bump it to 4 because she did that something extra. Even though that pico baby food sauce sucked. Cleanlyness 5 stars. Would I eat here again, probably but it might be awhile. Overall it was pretty good.

Great place to eat a healthy breakfast. It’s new to the neighborhood and everyone is friendly. The waitstaff were dressed in workout attire which fit their healthy cooking style. I had their turkey breakfast tacos and it was quite filling. Although I love spicy food, but wasn’t a fan of the sriracha hot sauce drizzled all over the plate like Jackson Pollock’s paintings. The portions are perfect for the health conscious physique, but I’d recommend plating the food on a smaller plate. The ratio of food and plate was fairly off and it looks as though the portions are too small. The orange juice was fantastic! It was freshly squeezed with tons of pulp. I’d come back to try one of their smoothies.

Just moved to the Richardson area from Uptown. That’s right I made the big move to the burbs! Drove by this place several times & thought it was just another little coffee house so never stopped in. One day I said what the heck, I’m hungry & they have breakfast. Best thing I’ve ever done! This is a little gem in Richardson! Their sweet potato waffles were AMAZING so I went back for lunch and had their perfectly cooked turkey burger w/sweet potato fries. I’m a huge fan of Village Burger & this place is right there with them. Amazing food, vibrant atmosphere, & a courteous staff. They just got a new regular as long a their standards stay this high.

I give 5 stars just because VH provides a service I can’t get many places – fresh, healthy food where I know exactly what I’m eating. The chef(or owner?) is a nutritionist and provides a little pamphlet on the table that has nutritional information for all their dishes. I know there are other restaurant chains that offer this, but that’s more like looking up how many hundreds of calories were in your greasy hamburger – this nutitional info actually makes you glad you ate what you did! Now, saying all this, the food is not going to taste as good as from typical restaurants if you’re not used to eating this healthy. They don’t use the fats, butters, oils, etc just to make something taste good. For example, the«jam» that came with my muffin was basically just pureed fruit wtih a little bit of agave nectar. Not very sweet, but still tasty. They do breakfast/brunch/lunch and I think breakfast is served all day(at least it was on Sunday, maybe not during the week). I got a custom made omelette and loved that they don’t stuff it with mostly cheese like other places you go. I even got bison sausage, which was great! Sweet potato waffles had a bit of a tangy aftertaste(not sure what that was) but they were nice and fluffy. I’ve also had a ginormous southwestern bison salad before that was good EXCEPT I found myself wishing for another dressing because their salsa ranch is pretty runny. So don’t come here expecting to find healthy food that tastes just like unhealthy food, because that just doesn’t exist. But if you’re open to the idea of putting good things in your body and appreciate that it will cost you a little more, I definitely recommend you give this place a try. As a bonus, everyone who works here is super friendly and you can tell they’re all very passionate about their restaurant. Makes me feel good to eat here!

Vitality house is the cute little neighborhood healthy breakfast place that Richardson has been missing. My wife and I biked over for breakfast this morning and were super impressed. We had the spinach eggs benedict(on portabello mushroom instead of english muffin), a veggie frittata, and sides of bison and sweet potato hash. The food was really, really good. We recommend slathering the sweet potatoes with maple butter. Yum! The servers are very friendly. The décor is bright and inviting. We are definitely going back soon, because I mapped out a series of other dishes that I need to try out on the menu. Carrot cake pancakes. Bison burger. Crispy skin salmon. And on and on. Surprising bonuses: each dish’s nutritional information has been carefully itemized on a separate menu. They make all of the salad dressings and sauces in house(including ketchup!). Lots of clever substitutions like using applesauce instead of oil in baked goods.
