DON’T BRINGYOURCHILDHERE! I took my infant here last week for the first time. I only need daycare one day a week for 4 hours so he is a «drop in.» They promised to follow his schedule/routine and they didn’t. When I was supposed to pick him up he was asleep. This threw off his entire day. There were babies crying that no one was paying any attention to. I thought maybe it was just busy over the lunch hour. I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I decided to give New Horizons one more chance. I took my son this morning at 9am. When I arrived no one was at the front desk. I waited 10 minures and then decided to go to the room he was in the previous week. When I got to the room there were about 10 babies, almost all were crying, and one adult. The adult working in the room was around the corner from the 7 month sitting in a highchair. The baby was unattended for the 10 minutes I was in the room(filling out paperwork and going over my son’s routine) eating banana chunks that were far to large for an infant that age. Chocking hazard if you ask me. I was very hesitant to leave my son. I gave them instructions about when to give the bottle, nap and said they could give him only banana puffs if he needed a snack. I returned 4 hours later. I had to wait in the entry for 15 minutes waiting to get buzzed in. Finally I was able to enter when another mom left. Still no one working the front door and no director. I waited a few minutes. I gave up and went back to my son’s room. I found him laying on the floor crying unattended. My son is a very happy guy and usually only cries if he is in the car seat to long. It was evident that he had been crying for awhile, red eyes, tears all over his face, a tear soaked shirt and he was sweating. There were two other babies crying in jump-up toys near my son. I picked up my son and comforted him, got his ‘report card’ and left. When i got to the front I had to wait, again. Finally I went into the kitchen and asked if anyone could help me. A woman went to find someone. Meanwhile the director strolls in with her lunch. She checks me out and makes me come up with exact change because they didn’t have any change today. When I got home I realized there was pink on his lips. When I smelled it… it smelled like cherry. I opened my medicine cabinet and smelled my childrens Tylenol. SAMESMELL. They gave my baby medicine without asking?! …and WHY? He isn’t sick! What if I had already given him Tylenol… that could have been an overdose for my 7 month old! I WASOUTRAGED. I called to complain. the woman that answered placed me on hold to discuss with the people in the room where my child had been. She told me that they only gave him a bottle and banana puffs as instructed. She must have read it off of the sheet I wrote on earlier in the day. He clearly had more than just puffs and a bottle… the evidence was still on his face! Learning experience? You better believe it was! I am now searching for a new daycare. Please don’t bring your children here! You have been warned!
