Went here last night. The place is quite nice, the music is okay sometimes it’s good sometimes it’s not that good. Now everything else. the workers are rude some of them and it’s just not worth going somewhere if you pay so much money and get treated like that. Drinks are 10 bucks. This place was not packed it was pretty empty for a Saturday night and now I know why. Now the hookah was 35 bucks so we got a hookah which was okay with one coal on it… now to change the coal they charge 25 bucks!!! Are you serious, 25 bucks for a coal change. If you spend so much on a hookah why can’t they at least do free coal change, I’ve never heard of such a thing. Wouldn’t consider coming here again or would not recommend.

I have to post an update because it’s been on my mind for a long time; this place can be a hit or miss. The only reason I come here is due to my friends having parties or its a big event(artists preforming). If you can anyone about Maracas they will say the management is very poor, & no they don’t care about their customers which are pouring money into their pockets; basically funding their lives. You can come here and have a great night, but most men and females who come here are looking for altercations once thats quit starts to fill their system. If there’s a fight here security usually breaks it up, but most people are thrown out like a rag doll! Oh did I mention the corn soup they serve here, it’s the only thing I look forward too when the night is ending :-) The drinks are amazing depending on who makes it, your looking to pay about $ 10 a glass which isn’t bad. The hookah ranges from many flavors; & will give you a real good buzz. The new owner Mike is a complete asshole, I witnessed him disrespecting customers & barley giving a shit about anyone’s concern. I even heard stories of girls being raped here. The police station on 117st& Jamaica & this places are pretty close, people have went to report issues they had with the club & the police turned them away no matter how serious it may be. Truth be told they’re rumors that the club has the police department eating out of their hands. This place has a lot of potential but needs better management. Such a gem in the heart of Queens but it’s ruined by the wrong people.

I had a bad experience with those young ghetto kids they allowed them inside with no dress code and so rude but I had fun good music on Saturday night’s its mostly mature crowd that’s what I like.

The place itself looks great. But the service is horrible. The service was extremely rude. My group and I order a bottle service of 3 bottles which of course was not cheap. We spent a bit over 700. You would think cups and ice would have not but an issue. But its seems that it was. At one point out ice bucket was taken without our knowledge. It was really a horrible experience. I was warned before going but damn I really expecting such BAD service. One star given and just because the place itself looking nice.

Went for Halloween ball and I actually like how girls didn’t have to be 21 to get in because my date wasn’t, and scene was chill once people started actually dancing and definitely more civil than other places I’ve seen. But, people were smoking cigarettes inside the club and I don’t care as a casual smoker but my date was getting nauseous, and cigarette smoke is much different than that of a hookah or fog machine. So I told a bouncer about a guy smoking and pointed him out and all he did was told him to leave and he was allowed back in. The worse part was that even some of the people on the stage(I guess they new the Dj or owner) were smoking cigarettes too in front of everyone so I guess it’s cool to break city building codes. Really it’s just about having visitors who aren’t disgusted by the smell and want to leave, like it should be. Take it outside.

Hmm for the most part place looks nice its huge. However they have over priced drinks a bunch of babies walking around in slutgear and the owner or so call owner is a cocky son of a B and its not cute when u have customers that are not happy, they need better promoters and 25 and up crowd leave the babies home

This place is on Jamaica ave in Richmond hill so I didn’t know what to expect of this place. We came here for my friend krysten’s birthday and it was a good experience. However, I recommend to come around 12:30 because everyone came so late! My friends and I were sitting for about an hour and a half waiting for more people to come. The music was good but way to much west Indian music. I recommend the club to play more of a variety of music. The place was very nice, but security was very rude in the front which I didn’t appreciate. However, overall I had a good experience.

Great music! If you love reggae and soca music this is the place to be! If you’re a lady you have to print out the promotion for free entry, this bugged me because the cashier wouldn’t accept the promotion on my phone. Other than that, great time.

After we(4 of us) paid and got in around 12:08AM Sat 9÷14÷13, we found out it was ladies free until1 A.M. i tried to get our money back from the cashier(who should’ve mentioned in the 1st place it was free, instead took our money)-needed a ticket to refund– so had to speak to the ticket man– he directed me to some1 else cuz he couldn’t help. We got BS from all of them. So make sure you ask be4 paying. And of course they were fights amongst those who couldn’t handle alcohol & want to go clubbing. The DJ was outdated & apparently kept under a stone to long– Dancers & drinks were good.

Ok let’s start with the good… great music, and good looking workers. Ok now for the bad and ridiculous. .The drinks are beyond watered down. It seems like they do this so u would get fed up and buy bottles of liquor. There hookah is ridiculously overpriced!!! A fresh fruit hookah is $ 45!!! Wtf. And if u want blue mist that’s a extra $ 5 … and they use those bullshit quick lite coals. Then on top of that u think if u spend $ 50 for a fucking hookah they would at least change ur coals for free! Nope they charge $ 10 to change the coals. A pack of those quick lite coals costs about $ 2 – 3 … I asked why was it extra for blue mist the lady said cuz it’s special and rare… –_-. I said miss … don’t bullshit me. Just tell me u wanna rape my pockets don’t make up a story

Well, I’ll be honest, I’m NOT a fan of Maracas but I had to come last night for a friend’s birthday. And actually, it was pretty alright! At the door, bouncer was strict(first time ever at Maracas) but I must admit, I like the way he was regulating! Good job. Club has a nice look to it. It gets dirty but staff is always on point to clean up. The DJ was mixing some good music, he varied the sound and catered to everyone’s taste. Sound system also sounded pretty good. The crowd: West Indians. The end.(lol, with the exception of me and a few other random latinos) Now, I’m very… demanding when it comes to service. My friend had paid approximately $ 700 for a VIP section, little seats and a little table does not = a VIP section, like are you serious? We went around 3 times with our server, disorganized much, a couple of more hundreds and we could and SHOULD have went to the city! As always, the night was phenomenal, staff came around frequently to attend to our needs, photos were taken, drinks were spilled, and madness occurred! Would I come back? On a random night where I end up with my West Indian connection, why not? Would I pay for VIP, hell no!

I made the mistake of coming here this wkd to show my cousin around the neighborhood. I witnessed at least 4 fights breakout within one hour. I don’t know if it’s the drinks or just the bad energy that the club brings out but it was not fun at all. The place itself is nice and spread out. They have a $ 20 cover. I could see the appeal of this place for an 18 year who wants to have their first club experience with music they are familiar with. I’m one of the nicest people(I think) and I felt like I was going to have to get in a fight, I hate experiencing that when going out and this place seems like it’s about that. I promised myself to never come back here. I wish I knew of good nightlife options in my neighborhood so I don’t have to trek to the city or Astoria or BK all the time.

Went here for the 3rd time this past weekend. This club is «environmentally impressive». Meaning, for the the neighborhood, it provides more than enough entertainment. However, I’ve gotten very used to partying in Manhattan and if this club was in Manhattan it would be at the bottom of the barrel. Pros: affordable drinks, plenty of space, good sound system, Cons: parking is a bitch, Unfriendly doormen unless you’re with women. Also I’m over being patted down upon entering a club, –_–

Don’t you hate it when your friend doesn’t know how to be a good wingman? ‘First world problems,’ you’re probably thinking. What you’re thinking is Wrong! The dating & mating ritual goes all the way back to Adam and Eve(the story of life, not the online sex toy shop…, amazing what google turns up). Anyways, about my bad wingman. How does he not understand my simple head nod to migrate our happy feet next to the group of happily drunken dancing girls? FYI, I’m taking applications for a new wingman. Maracas is a big place. Venue is nice, sound is loud, and lighting is good enough so you can make out the cute ones from the ‘oh noes!’ I learned a lot that night. For instance, girls don’t like it when strange asian guys start rubbing up against them and, apparently guys don’t like that much either. It’s not my fault though; the strangest thing happens to me when you give me three Red Bulls and Soca /Reggaeton music; dangerous combination! I turn into a raging’ asian dancing machine. I was bustin’ out moves I never knew before. One side of my body would be bustin’ out b-boy moves while the other side would be doing the river dance, all while my hands do these salsa gestures– because my salsa instructors tell me to «always keep your hands moving.» At one point I was pulling out moves from my zumba classes! I stopped and realized what I was doing when this one older chubby woman threw me a strange look. I conveniently worked in a 180 degree spin at that point. She might have started laughing after I turned around… perfect time for a bathroom break. The bathroom was great. Now I haven’t been clubbin’ it for a while, so I don’t know if this is normal. But, they hired someone whose sole job is to sit in the bathroom to spray freshener when it gets smelly. And, he did a great job. It smelled like a fresh patch of daisies in there. As soon as I hopped back onto the dance floor(with my wingman Kevin nowhere in sight!) this one girl accidentally backed her booty into my flailing hand(or was it the other way around?). I didn’t even turn around to see if she was cute. That was one of those moments where I play dumb and kept it moving. The neighborhood must have improved a lot over the years. This svelte and well-dressed handsome asian made it home at 3am on the train from Jamaica without being raped or pillaged. Good times!

January 28thVIP B-day experience: I had a pre– b-day bash here in VIP. It’s always a different experience when you do VIP in a club, that’s how I see it. There is a totally different ambience when you are separated from the rest of the crowd. You are partying with your own mature people and tended to by waiters, no waiting in lines for rude bartenders and all those other things people are complaining about in their reviews. I liked the décor over all in the club and in the VIP area with its own little private white room with long draping white blinds :) Awesome! We had a grandiose night. We got complimentary birthday cake and bottles of champagne. Parking can be a bit of a hassle, $ 20 bucks for valet, $ 40 for VIP. Glad babe and I parked the CL63, in front of the club because I was not walking blocks in heels after a long night of dancing! Like I said before you will have a great time with your people there if they like to party responsibly, and if you have your own private area. The club was packed that night, no fights broke out. Don’t let other people ruin your night of having fun! Thank you baby for another extraordinary memory. Will I go again? Yes.

I just went to a birthday party here and it was SOMUCHFUN. Mainly a West Indian crowd comes here, but they have Spanish nights as well. They play popular songs(Hip hop), but mostly reggae. — Coat check is $ 2. — They have dancers there… half naked but I guess its all good. — There usually is a cover charge. — There are enough seated areas around to make it a lounge, but the dance floor is pretty big too. — There are bouncers, but their professional with business. — Great for birthdays! Especially when you get VIP =]
