Richmond may just be about one of the most important historical hubs of history in the United States. There is just far too much to list every event that ever went down here. This little piece of history is just outside the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and it’s like stepping back in time when you walk inside. History envelopes you, and your mind starts to wonder about church services of the day. The silence is as beautiful as the wood and stained glass windows. The usher seemed a bit rushed at first, but then slowed down as the tour went on. For many in the area, it’s more than history… it’s personal. It should be noted the VMFA removed the Confederate Flag outside the chapel in an effort to white wash history and not offend their art patrons on the same property. Virginia Flaggers, as they’re called, protest on the sidewalk once a week outside the Confederate Chapel and VMFA. They suggest they will do this until the flag is restored.
