I love Fresca. I’ve eaten here probably 20 times. I’ve been to a lot of local restaurants that specialize in vegetarian/vegan food, and this is by far my favorite. The owners are total sweethearts. The ingredients are fresh and flavorful, and the bread is ridiculously good. They make the bread to order, so it’s still warm, and fluffy, and lovely. My personal favorite: the lentil burger with a side of orzo. It will knock your socks off.

I visited here about a month ago, but it feels like it was just yesterday! I took my vegetarian friend here, I knew there are a variety of vegetarian/vegan only restaurants here in Richmond, but I heard the most positive things from this place, so I knew I had to give it a try. I ordered the Spicy Sausage sandwich; it came with two large half pita pockets filled with grilled veggies, spicy vegan sausage, melty mozzarella cheese, and brown mustard. That first bite was like heaven. As you finish the sandwich, it starts to get heavy on the mustard, so I would order it again but ask them to go easy on the mustard. It was very filling and worth the $ 9.50, and since I got full, I took the other half home. You also get to choose a side with the sandwich, and I chose the Brussels sprouts, which were also amazing. I splurged a little and also ordered a chocolate chip cookie, I believe these were vegan, but I can’t remember. The cookie was very moist, soft, and chewy. I wanted to eat it all after my lunch, but since I was full, I also saved this. On top of the amazingly crafted, super delicious veggie foods, the staff is incredibly friendly and super helpful. The woman who took my order was very enthusiastic to answer any questions I had about the food. Definitely a little treasure here in the Fan. Omnivores like me who love to venture out and try new vegetarian dishes will adore this place. I can’t wait to go back and try one of their pizzas!

My friend took me here since she knew I was vegetarian. I was so happy to see everything on the menu was something I could eat! This was the first time I’ve ever been to all-vegetarian restaurant. The staff was really nice and helpful. No one seemed miserable, which is always a plus. I got the spicy«sausage» sandwich. It wasn’t overly spicy(which I liked), but there was way more vegetables than sausage pieces. The vegetables were still really good, but more sausage would have been better. If I order this again I would opt for light on the mustard. As I got to the bottom of my pita, I was overwhelmed with the taste of it. I got Greek orzo as my side and it was light and fresh. Overall, I really enjoyed my food. It seems a bit pricy but I wasn’t even able to finish my food. Would definitely come back!

Vegetarian heaven! Great choice of entrees… Everything taste so fresh and yummy. Interestingly, they offer dishes that kinda reflect different cuisines — American, Italian, Thai, Indian… We had the Veg Panini, Curried Vegetables, Pesto Pizza, and Tacos

I’ve had two of the sandwiches here(the lentil burger and the bbq seitan) and they were both really, really good. The orzo side was kind of flavorless, but I enjoyed the potato salad. My only real complaints is that everything feels slightly over priced, the food takes too long to come out and I wish they opened for dinner. That said, the staff are very friendly and I’m happy to have a another great vegetarian option in Richmond. I will definitely be coming back to try the rest of the sandwiches and some of the entrees.

This is a great vegetarian place to eat. It’s small but don’t let that fool you. They have pizzas, sandwiches, soups, salads, burgers, etc. I recently ate the vegan burger with cilantro mayo, slaw, and avocado all on a wheat bun. It was amazing. I’ve also had the chorizo pizza and loved it. Also the staff is really friendly and all the food is made fresh to order. If you’re looking for a great local vegan place to eat, you have to try this place.

Fantastic lentil burger. Delicious apple and fennel salad. The patio could use more shade. The pickled vegetables were disappointing. The ginger cookies were fantastic.

3.5 Note: This review focuses on Fresca On Addison’s tacos. Out of the three tacos I ordered, the flavors on the BBQ taco(not listed on the online menu) were the best. It was my first time ever eating seitan, and the texture of it kind of threw me off, but the pineapple slaw more than made up for it. My favorite taco however was the light and fresh avocado taco. The curry veg taco was also good, but the vegetables were a lot crunchier than I expected, so they didn’t really go well with the softness of the corn tortilla. Although I enjoyed my three tacos, I wouldn’t get them again because they weren’t amazing nor were they filling. With tax, I paid around $ 10.00 for three small tacos, and I’d be fine with that if I were full after my meal, but I wasn’t-they were more like snacks than a real meal. However, with that being said, I’d still like to come back to Fresca on Addison to try their vegan pizza.

I was concerned about visiting a vegetarian restaurant, but the experience was great. They have plenty of choices for those of us who eat meat while remaining true to their vegetarian goals. Additionally, they have a pizza oven. The women were helpful and pleasant in helping us navigate their menu, especially Toni. I may consider eating more vegetarian meals after this positive experience.

THISISNOW(tied for) MYFAVORITEPLACETOEATINRICHMOND — meat eaters, vegans, veggies, everyone should come to this place. Absolutely phenomenal food — beautifully prepared and presented — and everything, EVERYTHING, can be made vegan. The whole menu is basically vegan but they have feta and mozzarella as options for a couple of dishes. BUTFORTHEMEATEATERSOUTTHERE: I have taken tons of meat-eating friends here and NONE of them has ever been anything other than extremely blown away by the food. They love it. The slogan here is that you don’t miss the meat and it’s true. This is good food made by good people. Plain and simple. The only complaint I’ve ever heard about this place EVER is that they have limited hours(11 – 4, Tues-Sat) but the thing is, I completely appreciate why they do this — the owner/head chef wants to be completely in control of the quality of every dish that leaves her kitchen and because of that she only is open when she can be there. I respect that a lot. I’m currently working my way through the entire menu but for now some of my favorites are, basically everything I’ve ever eaten here: the curry veg tacos, sushi sandwich, kale Caesar, the orzo side, potato salad, the cookie, broccolini sandwich, LENTILBURGER — to be sure, it’s just all so good. Today I’m trying the pesto pizza. I have complete faith that it will be fantastic. They’re cooking it right now. :) Do yourself a favor. Eat here. Eat here often.

Get the broccolini sandwich with a side of brussels sprouts and be full and happy. This place is a great little local vegetarian/vegan restaurant. Pizzas, sandwiches and other surprisingly filling items make up most of the menu. Service can be a little slow so plan accordingly when there for a weekday lunch or some such thing.

For the vegetarian crowd(and for those just interested in a meat-free meal), Fresca is a great option. The menu is mostly salads, sandwiches and pizzas, with some options offering soy-based meat alternatives. Everything is kicked up a notch with their homemade, brick oven pita bread. My favorite dish, by far, is the lentil burger. Others can be too light on flavor to make for a substantial meal.

Sushi Sandwich: is it a sushi-like sandwich? Yes! Is it delectable veg fare? Oh yes! Is it one of the best sandwiches I’ve had bar-none in a long while? Well, now that I am asked, yes indeed! Fine shaved carrot, avocado and seaweed in a scrumptious house-made pita, with side soy sauce drizzled atop, to gather later in said pita pocket. Just excellent. Very courteous service as well. Way relaxed vibe. I’m a Fresca fan.

Fresca is an awesome addition to the Richmond restaurant family, because everything you eat here, you feel good about and it’s all quality, fresh and creatively prepared. I got the Seitan BBQ sandwich in their to-die-for made-to-order wheat pita pocket and a side of the brussels sprouts, which were well-cooked. Everything here is Vegan/Vegetarian, in order to prove that you can still pop with flavor and forgo the crutch of meat! The people are very kind and accomodating, and it’s a great place to get a take-out sandwich and enjoy a nice picnic at Maymont(that’s what I did!) The seitan and slaw both had good, crisp flavor and the portion was very reasonable for the price. The owners are a team with a passion and it really shows!

Excellent food, friendly staff and service, and a laid back atmosphere. This is my favorite lunch spot. It’s hard to go wrong here, but the Greek pizza is my favorite. The salads are also fantastic, as is the vegetarian chili. To top it all off the staff is some of the friendliest you’ll find.

BESTVEGANCUPCAKESINTHECITYOFRICHMOND! Oh, not to mention the homemade Pitas cooked in their stone hearth oven, their amazing hummus, and the fact that they have roasted Brussels sprouts and asparagus as a side for a little extra($ 1.00). I love their lentil soup, their dessert pizza, their BBQ sandwich, and my go to is ALWAYS the Greek salad pita with a side of orzo! I wish they were open late at night! Ps. Nicest people on the planet!

I went here on a lunch date with a friend and got the vegan potato and onion pizza. She got BBQ seitan wrap sandwich. Both were delicious. Everything on the menu is vegetarian and can be made vegan(WOW!) and there is a lot to choose from — I personally had trouble picking, so clearly I have to come back to try something different sometime in the future, although I wouldn’t mind getting that pizza again.

Fresca is my go to lunch place when I am in Richmond. My all time favorite is the lentil burger. Nowhere else I have ever been has made a lentil burger that even comes close to the the flavor and texture of this one. The best part about eating here is that you don’t feel heavy and weighed down after you finish.

I’m obsessed with the Greek Salad Sandwich! Obsessed. I cannot get enough of this vegetarian delight, and it has truly become my most-craved sandwich as of late. I don’t know where they get the pita bread, but that whole wheat pita is pillowy soft and unlike any other pita I’ve had. Maybe it’s because it’s paired with lettuce, tomatoes, pepperoncinis, Greek dressing and feta, which sounds so simple, but comes together in a beautiful explosion of flavors. They also serve the pita slightly warm, which is just the perfect pairing with the crisp veggies. I had an errand to run in Carytown this afternoon around 3pm, and I purposefully didn’t eat lunch so that I could pick up one of these beauties for an oddly timed meal. In fact, half of it is waiting for me in the fridge, and my tastebuds are super stoked to have it for dinner, too! I’m also a fan of their vegan pizzas with wheat crust, because even though I’m not vegan, I’m a sucker for vegan cheese. Weird, I know. I’ve tried the tacos, too, and they’re pretty darn tasty. I’ve had the chorizo, seitan, and avocado and would recommend one of each(you can mix and match) to taste a variety of flavors. I couldn’t tell you which was my favorite; I enjoyed all three. If you’re in the mood for a delicious vegetarian meal, in a casual(order-at-the-counter), unpretentious setting, go here. And on that note, my sammie is calling my name…
