This is one of my favorite thrifts — I manage to score something almost every time I go. Everything is organized very well in each department and the staff is always very friendly. My only complaint — and it’s by no means the fault of Goodwill — is that this location can get VERY busy in the afternoons and all day on weekends. Since they have so many racks in such a small space(it may look big from the outside, but it’s really not), it’s often a chore just navigating from one aisle to the next. I suggest going first thing in the morning to beat the crowds.

Not too bad Goodwill I do have to give you props for adding a location in Short Pump next to Tom Leonards. The store is like a warehouse of thrift inside, very nicely laid out. They have a great DVD collection as well as housewares. The process for the items within aren’t too bad. They do have a few great spacious fitting rooms. The bathroom is like a dance hall. Nice and large and clean. Can I move in, no but really it’s nice. Not too bad for an opening not much that I found, but overall worth checking out!

This store is located in the front of the shopping center where the Big Lots is located. While it doesn’t have much in the way of furniture, Target must donate stuff to them as I’ve found new, still-in-the-package drapery rods and other stuff. If you buy clothes at thrift stores, they have good sales here. Almost every day, some category has a color-coded discount.

Grandma loves the Goodwill… and she likes this one more than Second Debut because it has a large selection of paperback romance novels, for cheap. She made out with 5 today for $ 5– you can’t beat those prices! In addition, they have a HUGE selection of clothing… they only get three stars because you really have to check the clothing to make sure there are no spots are tears, and a lot of the clothing does look«lived in»… but even so, you can find some good deals… I’ve found a few pairs of work pants from Express and Banana Republic, and sometimes you can even find clothing with the tags still on. I’ve also found some nice trouser jeans there from New York and Co– definitely worn, but adorable nevertheless. Today Grammy bought a fetching twinset– black shell and black and pink striped sweater… very current and adorable. Plus, they have a ton of children’s clothing, and a lot of men’s clothes… so it’s a nice assortment. I’ve seen whole families shopping here around back to school time. And of course they have dressing rooms so you can try stuff on, and they have a section of home goods(lamps, furniture items like dressers and TV stands, and then dish sets and vases and assorted accessories) that is ok, but not tremendous. It’s a lot of older items– I saw a set of brown and tan everyday china there today… in perfect condition, but definitely a bit dated. Now, just to be fair, Grammy also says to tell you that one time she was in there, perusing the romance novel section, when an older man came over to her and said«Ma’am, I can give you a much better time than what’s in those books…» She was scandalized, but she also didn’t believe him… she decided to stick with her books. So beware, you shop at your own risk.
