Great atmosphere with big tvs, local bands and great craft beer. First class burgers with lots of solid bar food. Will defiantly come back to watch a football game in the fall.

It’s a sports bar not the Ritz. I feel like some folks need to ease up on the reviews. Was there on a Saturday to watch Justin Verlander dominate the Yankees. Some soccer thingy was going on with team USA playing so it was loud as was to be expected. Manager was happy to put the Tigers game on a TV for us. We started with nachos which were fine. Then we split 2 sandwiches, The Hokie(awesome) and The Richmonder(good). Guinness was a little expensive at $ 7 a pint.

I came in on a Sunday. Not to crowded and I had the biscuits and gravy dish(brunch menu?). It wasn’t that’s bad the gravy was a little salty. But the biscuits were good. Great service. A+. I would come back to try other dishes.

Best burgers I’ve ever had. People are friendly and you have your choice of games to watch. Many televisions with nothing but sports on.

Home Team Grill is what it is: a sports bar in the Fan, close to VCU. They have plenty of TVs to watch the games, plenty of booths so you can sit with your friends, and plenty of local and craft brews on tap so you can enjoy a cold one while screaming at the television. What I love about Home Team is when they showcase local bands. I’ve seen some great cover bands here, including the Sweater Band(Richmond’s premier Weezer cover act), and the Funky Monks(an up-and-coming RHCP cover band). The food is decent and the prices are fair. Not much else to say. A–

Great for watching any game. Televisions are perfectly distributed throughout the bar, plenty of seating, and a pretty good menu.

This place is cool for beer and sports. Not too much else happening here. The service is friendly and the beer selection is good. The food is passable, but the prices are a bit steep for a sports bar, and their wings really, really suck(they cost $ 12 too!). I’ve had a burger here that was decent. The atmosphere is fun during a big game(good luck finding a seat on football Sunday), which is when I typically come here. Essentially like B Dubs but a bit more local. Worth checking out for a game.

Had fish tacos for lunch. Excellent. The side salad was great too. The house vinaigrette was spot on. Oh and the service could not have been better. New go to spot in town.

Home Team Grill is not my typical place to chow down but it was the perfect place for our team to meet up and grab a bite to eat before our game and they had plenty of outdoor seating on a mild day a few weeks ago. This place is relatively big considering its close proximity to the VCU campus and the surrounding businesses. We were able to get a table for about 10 of us no problem on a Thursday evening. The outdoor atmosphere is really chill and it’s right on Main St so you can people watch and see the cars go by. The food fare here is typical of a sports bar/american restaurant and I heard their tenders here were pretty good so I got those. The wait time for my tenders was about 20 minutes, if not a little more which was a lot longer than I had anticipated as most places have them frozen and they just re heat and serve. Apparently these tenders are actually hand battered and fried to order which is why they took so long. These were some of the best tenders I have ever had! They were crispy on the outside and juicy inside. I got the«Spicy» tenders which actually weren’t that spicy but still tasted great. I would get this dish again the next time I come. There was only one main waitress for our table but they used another food runner when handing the food out. The service was just okay, nothing terribly slow and nothing extraordinary either. My meal came out to $ 10 which was a little pricey just for the tenders. This is a great place to watch sports and hang out with some friends.

Good place to hang out with your friends after sporting events or to watch a game. Food is just ok, beer selection is pretty good(but so are most places in Richmond). Prices reflect the quality, so you won’t empty your wallet.

Honestly, I don’t get the appeal. The only thing I can really stomach here is the veggie burger. It’s ok but always tends to fall apart. I had also stopped by here on my 21st birthday since it was a block away from my apt at the time and the drink was horrible and bartender didn’t even say happy birthday. I have since moved back to the fan and coincidently 2 blocks away and their customers really have no idea how to park. I’d probably consider stopping by again if they had live music since they have the patio and space for it, but until then, meh.

THESENAZISHAVESOMESTUPIDFUCKINGSEATINGRULES. We walked in for a basketball game and tried to sit at a table away from the cold door. Even though 4 tables were empty, they told us it was impossible to sit at the table we wanted. They have rules damnit! Not 30 seconds later they sat another group at the table we requested. When I inquired as to why we couldn’t sit there, the sent the manager over to give us some BS about a seating order. Not 2 minutes later, they harassed another group about a table they tried to sit at. Mind you, the bar was mostly empty. This stupid policy tainted our entire experience and I will never return to this establishment. To be fair, they do have a lot of tvs and the general layout is good. Just horrible policies. Last minute development as I write this: a bird is flying loose through the restaurant. Just awful.

Pretty solid lunch time/bar spot. Server was pleasant and service was prompt. We had Shring Queso; Clam Chowder; adult mac n cheese. Shrimp Quesadilla was really good, including the salad greens that come with it… Put it this way, my 9 year old son tried the salad and complimented it… Said it was better than the mac n cheese… He hates salad. Clam chowder is surprisingly good flavor… Very buttery… In a good way; I can feel my arteries clogging already! Adult Mac n cheese was surprisingly bland… Would strongly discourage anyone from ordering it… Unless you eat like a 6 year old.

I had the California salad that was great. I also had the Fish Tacos. They were the worst fish tacos I’ve ever had. It was«Fried» Salmon! Tasted too fishy as if it’s old or reheated or sth. Service is ok. My friend had the ram wrap which was okay. She paid $ 1 extra for mashed potatoes that was too dry. I would go there only to watch a game, definitely not for the food.

Haven’t been in months. My P.I.C. * wanted some of their glorious fish tacos and I wanted a burger. First we noticed that the Fish tacos were no longer tuna but salmon, Bummer. The price however was the same as the tuna tacos were. They were tasty however tuna was much better. I ordered a burger and asked for no bacon but extra cheese. «That’ll be $ 1.00 extra» ok I replied. The waitress then informed that if came with chips and not fries. «Fries are a $ 1.00 extra» I wanted to ask if the bun was extra also but kept my smart ass comment to myself. All in all it was ok. Nothing stellar nothing bad. Good place for bar munchies and watching a game, but won’t be back just for the food. * P.I.C. = partner in crime

I was here on a Sunday to watch football. One huge word of advice, go EARLY if you want a seat. I was meeting up with a friend who was in a larger group and though I found a stool it was a little bit cramped. The place has plenty of tvs all over the place so no matter where you are sitting I would think that you have at least one tv within view. During games you can get a bucket of regular domestic bottles for $ 17 or for $ 2 more you can upsize to 18 oz bottles. The only food that I ordered were the onion rings. They were decent though not as crispy as I like. The chipotle ranch sauce that came with them was pretty good. My friend had the Hall of Fame burger which he said was really delicious. I’ll have to give this place another shot in the future and update my review.

My first time here, it was a beautiful day and. I couldn’t resist sitting outside. The server was quick to greet us and very attentive. She kept the drinks flowing and the food served in a quick manner. :) my kind of server. I ordered the chicken Philly. Plain. I don’t like a bunch of stuff on my Philly sandwiches, just meat and cheese, the server looked at me like I was crazy, she had jokes because I took most of the stuff off that it came with. It was good though, just a tad bit dry. Not enough cheese. The lemonade was pretty lame, i should have went with just water because it tasted better. Everyone at my table seemed to be oohing and aaahing over the clam chowder, Im not into that but it must be good since they all loved it. I would go back and try something different next time.

Stopped in here last Friday night and was surprised to see plenty of open tables. I figured out group of 4 might have to wait. There was a beer on the beer menu that looked unusual and when I asked our server she couldn’t describe it. She even called over another coworker and he could only say that it was unlike any other beer. Perplexed, I gave it a try. It was a wheat beer/hefe with a little extra hop kick. It really wasn’t that hard to describe. We started with some chips because we were starving. Chips were good and we devoured them. I got the Cowboy Burger. This one seemed great in concept but was lacking in execution. The onion straws were very crispy and were a tough thing to eat. The chipotle ranch had a good kick too it. The blue cheese just didn’t work for me. It was an odd flavor amongst everything else. My buddies had the Hall of Fame burger and said it was great. I wish I had gotten that. Overall, an «A-OK» experience. I’m always looking for new places in Richmond so it might be a while before I get back to Home Team Grill.
