House of Tacos has delicious food! It’s located close to my neighborhood and even open on Sunday. The flour tortillas are homemade perfection. They are small so I can eat two tacos and feel full but not stuffed. I have tried chorizo/egg, bacon/egg and carne guisada. They are all very good and I plan on trying more. Friendly fast service… great place!

Stumbled on this hidden gem by accident and we were beyond happy with the tacos we got. They had a variety of taco meat choices and they were fairly priced. We will definitely be returning for more tacos and I highly recommend the barbcoa tacos. They were awesome! Also, the horchata tasted fresh and we enjoyed it.

If you like okay food and poor service then this place is for you. The food is like what you would get at a gas station taqueria. Actually, it’s not that good. Stripes Convenience Store has better tacos. They weren’t happy to see me or take my money so I’ll keep my money and get tacos elsewhere.

Great breakfast tacos. This place is close to Foster high school. The tortillas are fresh and the tacos are big and tasty. Good prices.

There is no such thing as a one-dollar taco any more but there is «You Get What You Pay For». This place serves a HUGE variety of tacos and food. Breakfast to what ever your heart desires. A taco or two will fill you up. You wont be disappointed in quantity or quality. Solid flavor beyond typical heat alone. If your ever find yourself near 723&359 in Richmond, Texas stop in and enjoy excellent food.

This is a great, quick stop on FM723. I came in after a trip to the Drivers License Mega Center at about 11:30 on a Wednesday. I parked, walked in and there was one other family eating here. The tacos are served cafeteria style with a variety of options. I asked for guisada, but they were out. So I had asado de puerco and picadillo. Both with beans and both were excellent! It came with a tasty salsa and I purchased a bottle of water. I sat down and enjoyed my lunch. Will definitely be back for breakfast to try the nopales and chorizo tacos. Very good!

Went here for lunch on a Tuesday. I was disappointed that they were out of carne guisdada, barbacoa and beef fajitas. Those are like 3 of the most popular Texican tacos! I was left to order chicken fajitas(dry) and carne and pappas. The carne and pappas was great! Grease was dripping out just like I like it! The tortillas were also on point. The prices are one of the reasons why I will be back. Another downside is that they didn’t have their air condition on(I dined in) and it was pretty hot. I’ll be back to try their breakfast.

I agree with Delanie on most of her review. I have been patronizing this family owned establishment since it first opened. Most of my visits have been for breakfast tacos on the go. They have not disappointed me. I usually do the potato egg and cheese. They do their best to get you in and out. Usually the line is a little long in the morning but it moves quickly. For the record I do not have a Spanish surname.

Looking at the other reviews, I found it necessary to put in my dos centavos. Since my surname is Gonzales or Valdez, I apparently get excellent service at House of Tacos but the line of people all the time speaks for itself. This is a very quaint little place, nothing fancy. It’s like a taco truck smashed into a little shopping strip near a busy gas station and a High School. Going in, it is pretty much what it is, A house of Tacos. Granted the building is not made of tacos but nevertheless, tacos are present. They have a picture of Paul Rodriguez on the wall which he indicates that House of Tacos is awesome or something. As many times that i have grabbed tacos, i never really read it but it’s Paul Rodriguez and he was in «A million to Juan» and I really enjoy that movie so i value his opinion. Service: Fast and Direct. Not overly friendly since they are always either making tacos or checking out people fairly quickly. The Taco Artist(person who makes your tacos– this is an art and do not disagree with me) usually wait for you to tell her what you want since everything is laid out cafeteria-style. Since they are hispanic and some are limited on English, the«point and pick» method works well for the spanished-challenged. Food: Since it is cafeteria-styled setting, the food is easily recognizable if you are a taco connoisseur as myself. Breakfast sides includes a variation of what you would find for breakfast taco. Chorizo and egg with an addition of refried beans is my favorite. Now Meats: I am a meaty taco lover. I really am a Carne Gusada girl so I always aim for that. House of Tacos has a pretty darn good Carne Guisada. The only thing I hate is one day when i was driving into work, I bit into my taco and heard a crunch. At first, I was certain it was a roach(this wouldn’t be the first time I ate a roach in my lifetime) but it ended up being a chili pepper.(This place is bug-free food. YAY!) That pepper was a hot one. So makes sure you watch out for the peppers if you are a bit pepper shy. I am also really fond of the Meat and Potato mixture. This is def a true Mexican treat and reminds me of my grandmother. Tons of flavor and tons of greasy goodness to match. Add refried beans and you’ll love it. Tortillas are decent. They aren’t my grandma’s tortillas but they are good. Salsas are decent as well. I don’t use them much as I am driving and eating and opening up a cup of sauce can only be bad. Very bad. No toilet-rating on this place, mainly because I never eat my tacos at the location but driving into work. Listening to Zumba music and eating tacos brings me back to the motherland every morning. The stains on my scrubs are badges of honor. Walking out, I always tip the ladies and say my goodbyes in hopes that my tacos and belly get bigger with each visit. I go at least twice a week and enjoy a good taco for breaksfies and a Diet Coke.

Staff is rude and food looks like it’s been sitting around for hours. Got the feeling that if my surname were Gonzales or Valdez I’d get much better service.

My daughter and I ate lunch here for the first time. We walked up to the counted and were met by a limited English, not happy, non greeting worker. We looked over the menu and look at the food in the warming dishes. It was 11am and they still had some very dry and crusty looking eggs and other breakfast stuff. We both order something«safe.» I asked the worker what one meat was and she said, «pork.» I asked what the other dish was and she said, «pork.» Ok, I guess that’s all they have is the pork. It was difficult to figure out what the pork was mixed with. When I asked the woman if they had shredded beef(it was on the menu) she said, «no.» Then she pointed to what looked like ground beef. So, my daughter had tacos with ground beef and I had tacos with pork(?). The tacos shells seemed homemade. We asked for two waters and the woman gave us two bottled waters which we paid for. Tap water is not offered when I asked. I might be wrong, but I thought it was required of restaurants to offer tap water. Then again, it didn’t look like they had any ice. We paid for our meal, received no thank you, and sat down at the cleanest table we could find. The meats(ground beef and pork) were both tasteless. The pork was very dry and old. The taco shells were so brittle they fell apart when we picked them up. The refried beans had no flavor at all. The rice was dried up a bit and some of it was crunchy. However, the bottle water was good. :) When we got up to leave, the workers never said a word. We never got a thank you. We won’t be back here again. I’m guessing the only reason this place is still in business is because there are not many places to eat in the area and it’s close to the high school.
