Friendly service and a clean, organized shop. I don’t always find a lot of clothes, but I usually find at least one thing I love. Beats Hall Tree any day.

Upon first visit, this consignment shop has items arranged by color scheme and category, which is extremely helpful when browsing the racks. I found lots of items that were cute without being trendy(if you’re anything like me, you often try to avoid too-trendy items). I stumbled upon a few hidden treasures of coveted names like Kate Spade, Ferragamo and Michael Kors. The sales associate told me about a slew of sales they plan to have in the coming weeks. I’ve found another thrifting treasure in Carytown… and I will be back!

I’ve been in here twice now, and I can’t figure out if it’s for women older and more conservative than me, or if it’s for me and I just need to do some digging. In the window when I went in today was a rack of Lily Pulitzer-type items. Inside I found a lot of fancier dresses(cocktail type things) as well as more casual items. Most of the stuff in my size was a little too old-looking for me. But I did see a lot of cool stuff in size small. Maybe it’s the stuff Jamie D. consigned :) I did find one shirt that is cute that I bought, so I’ll be back again to see what they have new. I didn’t shop accessories today because I have a ton of those myself, but there did look to be a nice variety…

This Carytown shop is the second location for the Indigo Avenue family and has become my go-to spot for consigning. Nestled between Babycakes and Bangles and Beads, Indigo Ave offers a wide selection of consigned clothes, shoes, handbags, and accessories. Like any second-hand store, you have to dig through the racks to find the perfect item and sometimes it might be a miss rather than a hit. But hey, if you have the patience you just might find that snazzy designer handbag, J. Crew sweater, or geometric-print DVF dress… for a fraction of the original cost. Bargain-hunting aside, Indigo Ave offers the easiest consigning I’ve ever experienced. No appointments necessary. Let me repeat, no appointments necessary. If you’ve ever consigned, you know how annoying it can be to try to schedule an appointment only to be told that there’s a month-long wait. Seriously? By that point I’ve already taken my clothes to Goodwill. Indigo Avenue to the rescue! They only take items Monday through Friday, with a max of 20 per day, but stop by at your leisure and they’ll fit you in.
