Lola’s Lunches

Got Lola’s box lunches for 12 — never again!
Sandwiches were less than impressive and mostly bread with very little meat and kinda dry, pasta in macaroni salad was over cooked and mushy tasting mostly of oregano with basically no other flavor.
Of 12 lunches 9 had no utensils to eat sides with and no condiment packets at all were included. For a place that automatically charges a 10% gratuity — you expect much better.
We received 12 box lunches from Apple Spice Junction the day before which were 1.50 ea cheaper and much better in every aspect with no gratuity automatically added.
I understand that you get what you pay for, but in this case we got short changed!

If you don’t have good eye sight, you won’t find this place. I got a groupon for here and was positive that I had purchased a coupon for a store that didn’t exist. Well it’s behind the subway about three doors down.
I ordered the Plain Jane with mac salad and strawberry shortcake cupcake. And the Mama’s Boy with chips and a red velvet cupcake.
The Plain Jane: wasn’t so plain when you add the delicious apricot honey mustard sauce to it (all condiments are on the side). It compliments the simpleness of the sandwich very well.
Mac Salad: Needed salt or sugar. But pretty good once you doctor it up a bit.
Strawberry Shortcake Cupcake: Goood flavor. Love the strawberry filling. A bit too much icing for my liking.
Mama’s Boy: The chicken was good and moist. The herb mayo was flavorful but not as good as the apricot honey mustard. Pretty good.
Chips: umm do I really need to review a bag of chips. No. next.
Red Velvet Cupcake: I absolutely love red velvet cake. So I was a bit disappointed in this cupcake. It was WAYYY to sweet. And again too much icing. I didn’t really like the flavor of the cream cheese icing to begin with. Not a Fan of this cupcake.
All in All. The boxed lunches are 9.98. And after eating the three part lunch I was good and full. They should add a picnic table in the little plaza so people actually know that they exist! I’m a fan.
