Zac is awesome! O’Toole’s is a great place, with great atmosphere, and very good hard-working staff.

Just a solid very casual go to place. Lots of variety on the menu. I recommend the French dip sandwich. My wife enjoyed her salad and any place with kids dine free gets our approval.

The $ 7.99 guacamole is an absolute joke. Like I literally thought the crew from Candid Camera was gonna come out when I tasted this. According to the menu, it’s supposed to be «Seasonal avocado, crushed tomatoes, onions, and jack cheese blended together.» Blended? More like pulverized. It was honestly nothing more than watered-down pureed avocado. Also had some weak ass fries. Wiggly. Not crisp. No seasoning. When have you ever had tater tots that are better than fries???

My Shepherd’s Pie was cold :{ My Long Island had no kick. The salad had some greasy croutons to it. My husband’s mashed and gravy was good however. I wonder why they don’t serve the pie with that delicious gravy? I guess being from NYC I am spoiled. The gentleman that seated us had an attitude as if he didn’t want to be there. When he comes in today I would be cautious if I were a coworker, he may go postal. It is an aesthetically unappealing dive. Our sever was very sweet and friendly however. Would I return? Not my first or 10th choice but if I were with a group I wouldn’t object. Makes me miss Muldoon’s in New York all the more. Sighs.

I come here on a semi-frequent basis, and I’ve been happy each time. It’s standard bar far with a great atmosphere. The staff are excellent and polite, even when slammed. My only complaint is the pizza. They call it «world famous» on the menu. I question what makes something«world famous» versus«famous» or «locally famous.» World implies someone from Timbuktu came over here and enjoyed the pizza and management shouted, «hey we’re world famous now.» The pizza was edible at best. It really wasn’t even good for a bar pizza and I was disappointed. Stick with a sandwich, fish and chips or a burger. My friends parents have been coming here several times a week for years. Mixed drinks are on the strong side, but you just sip them slower and it’s OK.

Noisy & crowded on a Friday night… But the food was super satisfying! We got the appetizer sampler and Italian sub toasted of course. The mozzarella sticks didnt fall apart when you took a bite and the Italian sub was legit(coming from a person who loves them). Will definitely be back because it’s a great local spot.

I come here for the fried food and beer. O’Toole’s is exactly what it looks like. A laid-back Irish Pub where neighborhood folks come to hang out, drink, and maybe watch a game. I’ve always had great service here, and the bartenders are as friendly as they come. Let’s talk onion rings. O’Toole’s has great onion rings. Like, when I’m here with a group they know to order me my own plate because I’m not sharing. However, the sampler platter is great for people unlike me who are good at sharing. VERY good chicken wings as well. So, if you’re in the Westover Hills neighborhood and you’re in need of spot to drop in and have a bite and some beer, check out O’Toole’s.

Had the shepherd’s pie on a cold winter afternoon and it hit the spot. The menu is large has a lot of great-looking pub food. Prices are decent and the atmosphere is great for the neighborhood local bar. No complaints here. If you’re in the neighborhood and hungry this is a great spot.

Its been 16 months since my last 5 star review here. Nothings changed. O Toole’s is still a great place to chill, have a brew, and order many good selections for lunch or dinner. As the winter chill approaches, I though I would try their Shepard’s Pie and let me tell you… it sure hit the spot. My guest had a Club Sandwich and it was perfect. As I expected both would be. This is one of my favorite places and seems to always deliver excellent service, food and beverages. Their homemade Onion Rings I have deemed«World Famous» because anywhere I go in this world any onion ring will be compared to these. I can’t find a better ring, anywhere. I always order a basket of O rings for an appetizer here. They may as well drop them in the fryer as I walk in the front door! Great spot for Sunday Brunch as well!

I always like finding Irish bars just because of the homey feel and the great music. This place was not really lively, kind of dead, and they didn’t have too much of a variety of beers to drink when I went. This is more of a neighborhood Irish bar, a go to bar for a quick drink and alright food.(Don’t take my word on the food though as I was here once and had a Caesar salad.) If you were looking for just a quick drink and something to munch on, I would recommend this place. It’s not terrible, but to me, it’s not great either since I like trying tons of new different beers.

Have lived in the area for 3 years, and can’t believe we JUST wen here for the first time last night! It was Halloween and the place was pretty empty– maybe that’s because people were out doing holiday things… fine with us. Service was quick and friendly. I ordered the Perfect Storm from the specialty drink menu… for $ 6 I wasn’t expecting much, but WOW! It was boozy and flavorful and came in a metal mule mug which was a nice touch. Boyfriend ordered a Guinness and it must have been good because he has 2 more throughout dinner. For dinner we each ordered specials. I had the seared tuna with pepper relish and he had the London broil with Gorgonzola cream sauce. The salads were good, homemade croutons were fantastic and the Caesar dressing had something wonderful in it, but I can’t put my finger on what it was. I asked for my tuna barely seared and as rare as they could serve it, and they NAILEDIT. The pepper relish was delightfully sweet and tangy. The London broil was cooked nicely, but didn’t like that it was cut up into big bites that still required cutting. Would rather it come thinly sliced. Mashed sweet potatoes and asparagus were our other sides, and those were fine– nothing exceptional but good as far as side dishes go. Bottom line– HIGHLY recommend this place and we will be making this a regular dinner and drinks spot.

Bad service Food was okay at best My group waited over an hour for food and part of the group’s food didn’t come until the rest of us were done and they were still expected to pay after waiting an hour and a half of waiting Heard this place was good maybe if you go alone but not a group

My parents actually took me here about 20 years ago and I recently rediscovered it. This is a now favorite place in Forrest Hill. Having been in Europe and seen traditional pubs, this is a close analog in to a public house in America. This is a regular place that my girlfriend and I visit and frequently enjoy.

When you see it you may think its a bit of a dive … ok it probably would be considered that… but come in and be surprised. This place serves some terrific food. Has great beers. Great Staff. When I moved to Richmond I temporarily stayed a few blocks from here during the week before officially moving and finding a house. I pretty much spent every weekday I was in Richmond coming in here to eat and for a couple drinks. It’s the type of neighborhood bar you always want to find. Unfortunately I don’t get chance to come here that much anymore, and usually when I do its at lunch time(missing part of the experience then). But just as good as ever and always take the opportunity to drop in when I’m around the area. Best authentic St. Patricks day… and wake before can’t miss. Owner does a lot with community and even does catering at my kids local school. Stop in and support a great local mainstay!

You know, for the price and all he specials they have, this is an awesome place. Their bartenders are nice and personable, and their food is pretty good, especially for the price. I wentfor half off burger night and their burgers were going out like hot cakes. People were taking up the VAST bar space to get their burgers and beers in. And I don’t blame them. What is better than beers and burgers? Duh! Nothing! They did run out of my fave beer after I had one, so that was disappointing, and their bar could use some wipe downs between patrons(stickiness does not go well with eating…), but the bartenders made up for that. The parking is ample, the patrons are surprisingly well-behaved, and the atmosphere, pretty neighborhood friendly. Comin back here with a girlfriend to take advantage of their deals! Come join!

I was so excited for a real Irish pub. For great fish and chips. For a fun atmosphere. Not at all what we got. The walls are filthy. The menu was caked in what looked like boogers. The onion rings were bland and my first bite was all brown onion skin. Our pretzel appetizer seemed like it had just come out of the microwave(hot in spots and hard as a rock). The onion rings and fish were fried so long that they had a burnt taste to them. The fish was fine once I flaked off the crust, though, and the coleslaw was good. My husband’s french dip sandwich was«eh, ok.» Portions were HUGE, but we won’t come back.

Perfect neighborhood pub – wide ranging menu(including the Irish classics, but well beyond that too.) Try the French Dip and have them add the grilled onions from their steak sandwich. Plus, the owner is very active and supportive of the neighborhood elementary school – always nice to support a business that gives back!

Haven’t been here in a few months, but this is one of my favorite places. Been going here ever since I was 21 or so. The clientele is mostly locals and older locals at that. Been going there so long I’ve become one of the older locals! The English Burger is something I always get. I’ve tried other things, but I always go back to the English Burger(basically a burger on an English muffin).

It’s been about 40 years since I was last here and it has not changed a bit since then. And that’s a good thing. This is one of the last great family-owned neighborhood restaurants and watering hole. The food is generous, excellent and reasonably priced. The service is exceptional, friendly and down home. Don’t expect fancy. This place doesn’t know the meaning. Do expect to enjoy the break from chains.

Don’t go to be stunned. This is a really great, peaceful, neighborhood place where we all can meet comfortably for some really fantastic drinks and very consistent food. It’s a cozy, comfortable environment with plenty of bar space. An excellent spot to just sit and talk and waste a rainy evening laughing. There’s never«that drunk girl» begging dudes for drinks, or the frat bros doing shots and acting like fools. It’s a mellow, adult, companionable environment. The bar staff is very attentive and personable without being over bearing. Drinks are fairly priced and poured appropriately. The fish and chips are SUPERB. The rest of the menu is large, with good variety and it’s good, but not great. OTooles is a fantastic place to go with old friends for a relaxed meal out.

Careful what u ask for. Their double-shot may very well end up a triple. Nice bar close to where I live, I have yet to actually eat there. It looks like it gets busy around happy hour so I may try them out around that timeframe next go-around. Around St Pattys day, they’ll have the green draft on tap, so it’s a good location if u don’t feel like traveling into the Fan for a good adult beverage spot. Thank you bartenders: D
