My wedding was over a year ago and I hosted it at Old South Plantation. I loved my wedding, it was beautiful and It took a lot of effort to pull off. I work in the wedding industry, but I had never heard of this venue before, I loved the facility and decided to book. When I got married there they were a newer venue. The problem with this venue is the people running it are also running an estate, they have no business being in the wedding industry. They do not care about you, your wedding or professionally dealing with problems. In the wedding industry we all know that the bride is stressed out, she has many things to plan, she is usually tight on money and has big dreams about her special day. This is where the IMPORTANCE of a wedding professional comes in. These people are NOT customer service oriented, I considered myself a very laid back bride, and even I was a pain to them. One woman, I cannot remember her name, rudely stopped me on the way to the alter(not an exaggeration, literally on the way with my sister holding my train) to argue about an electrical box being opened. I guess it was so important she could not wait, she had to permanently imprint her irritated face into my memories for the rest of my life. Turns out it was the caterer and NOBIGDEAL. Honestly, I felt like giving one star just from this instance a lone, but one star just feels mean. Many situations like this occurred the months prior and the day of my wedding. The owner is a very grumpy old man who couldn’t care less about your wedding. He is very rude and unprofessional. My advice is to go to a venue that cares, a venue that wants your wedding to go flawlessly, and if something goes wrong at least you have the right people on your team. It really is a shame because this place is beautiful and the maintenance guys really keep it in great shape, but I had the same experience as the last reviewer.
