So I ordered from this place from orderup, first of all they took 60 minutes to get my food. The prices for this place are ridiculous!!! I could get the same food from a local Chinese restaurant and get more food and pay a lot less. I ordered General Tso chicken it was $ 11! When I did get my food the container was not even filled all the way to the top and 1⁄3 of it was broccoli. The chicken was soggy as I don’t know what. I have never been so disappointed with Chinese food in my entire life. I felt robbed! I do not recommend anyone to go eat at this place it’s not worth your money. The taste was okay I had better at cheaper places. I will never order from this place again.

The staff was very kind when I arrived and my order was ready precisely at the time requested. I had the eel sashimi, which was very good as expected. But the spicy tuna roll, very, very disappointing. I have been eating at sticky rice across the street since 2002, and I always always order that roll. It’s made perfectly. Chopped up tuna mixed in with spicy mayo sauce and cucumber. But I hit nothing like that in my togogo order. I got a sliver of tuna with a lot of cucumber and avocado with no spicy sauce inside but it was overloaded with spicy seasoning on the entire outside if the roll. It was disgusting! The spice over powered anything in the roll that I took one bite and the the rest away. And that roll wasn’t cheap either. I’m extremely disappointed and will never order there again. And what’s sad, is it appears no one even reads these posts and makes things better for the customer. They just don’t seem to care.

If you want sushi, go across the street to the dine-in location. Togogo’s sushi is the worst. I don’t know why I keep trying to order sushi here. The godzirra roll is god-awful. It’s a soggy, overly creamy mess of cream cheese, avocado and two different sauces… One of which is definitely mayo-based. The eel roll is always soggy, drenched in eel sauce. Even the veggie rolls are swimming in over cooked rice and sloppily rolled seaweed. However, the tofu bites are great! As is the wakame seaweed salad and I’ve heard great things about the dirty vegan. Some of the simpler rolls have turned out ok for me(masumi roll and plain tuna roll). Oh ps the tot sauce is mayo, sriracha and ranch… I get it, this is Americanized sushi. But do we need mayo on EVERYTHING?!

We picked up an order for carry out, while the customer service was good, I can’t say I would ever come back here again. I ordered a vegetarian roll(my normal sushi choice,(probably since I’ve seen Finding Nemo one too many times)). For over $ 5 I got 6 of the smallest pieces of sushi I’ve ever seen. It look like it was made for a doll. I would have had to ordered three rolls in order to be the same amount of food in a normal size roll. It tasted okay, but portion size was so small. Just not worth it.

Awful. Expensive and cold and tasted like it had been sitting out for a couple hours. My boyfriend spit it out(and he eats everything). Serving size was so small we thought we had left without half of our take out order. Service on the phone and at the restaurant was great, food was just overpriced — and quality so bad Kroger sushi would have been better. Please consider this and other reviews, because we will not be coming back. Thank you.

Almost inedible. Got a Godzirra roll, crunchy shrimp roll, and eel sashimi. You get less with a roll than you would anywhere else. The rice was terribly overcooked. I couldn’t eat it. The fish tasted a bit old. the stuff from Kroger is better. Not coming back.

For takeout food to pass my easy to please low standards, it either needs to be good, or a normal size serving. Sticky to go go has for the second time in a row failed to deliver on both. The only thing scary about a $ 13 Godzirra ‘monster roll’ was how much I spent for a small taste of mediocrity. And General Tso must have lost the war, because he only sent half his troops to conquer my hunger with a fraction of the size and quality you’d expect at a crappy chinese take out. Sorry Sticky to go go, the low priced PBR and tots will keep me coming back to the restaurant, but the take out storefront does a disservice to your name.

I’ve been waiting on my delivery order for almost two hours and I’m hangry as hell but I’m stuck on eating some garden balls so I have to sit here and be hangry until they arrive ~ it’s worth the wait but prepare to wait and wait and wait

There was a time where Sticky Rice was my go to spot for dinner but over the 4 years I’ve lived in Richmond, I’ve become more and more unimpressed with the service, food, atmosphere, and staff. Service– always rushed or super slow. Never a happy medium. When you are being helped, I constantly feel as though I’m a nuisance to a waitress. Which I shouldn’t feel because I’m a paying customer Food– from afar the food is trendy, cool, and traditional all at the same time. Unfortunately the majority of the food I’ve ordered has arrived too salty, carelessly prepared, or plain unpleasant. I know Sticky Rice isn’t the Gansevoort hotel but come on people. Paying for food should warrant attractive presentation Atmosphere– in my younger years in Richmond, this place was fun and always the place to be. Whether for dinner or karaōke. It was always booming. I’ve essentially given up hope to enjoy sitting down for dinner here again. Due to how the restaurant smells, appears, and feels Staff– always rude, rushed, for the most part I inviting. There are maybe two faces that are always kind due to showing my fave and giving this place multiple chances.

Heard a lot of good things about Sticky Rice so I decided to try it out. Had the«Godzirra» roll and the Eel roll & some tots. The godzirra roll looked unappetizing on arrival, I moved past that and decided to give it a try and it was awful. The shrimp tasted like it had gone bad and paired with cream cheese and avocado made it even worse. Not only were the insides inedible but it was wrapped in an absurd amount of overcooked rice, making the roll just a gelatinous blob of disgust. I thought maybe I just ordered the wrong thing and tried the Eel roll. The eel roll didn’t make me gag immediately like the Godzirra roll, however, it was absolutely drenched in eel sauce in an attempt by the chef to cover up the foul flavor of bad eel. Yeah the eel tasted like it was left unrefrigerated for at least a day. So I ended up throwing away 13 $ worth of food, which, in my opinion, should have been trashed even before the chef cobbled the food together into whatever I paid for. You can find better quality sushi at Kroger, and it won’t give you food poisoning, take it from me.

If you want Sticky Rice, you’re better off sucking it up and going for dine-in. While to go go has friendly and helpful staff, the food prep really just doesn’t compare to sitting in a booth across the street. I’ve given them plenty of chances to not stuff my rolls with hard avocado and give me a bummer of a South Roll. Every time I’m like, «You knew better, why do you insist on eating food in bed?» It’s a charming idea with a disappointing execution. If at home eating is what you want, just make sure you save some for leftovers for when you’re pantsless at home watching Netflix.

Since the actual restaurant tends to be filled up with a long wait, I often end up getting my food to go-go. They always get my order correct(I like extra tot sauce!) and the food is delicious. Definitely try the Gooch roll, although I am partial to it as I grew up in Goochland.

I ordered the south sweet potato rolls which was described as having honey drizzled and topped with sesame seeds. No. When I got home and got ready to eat my roll looked pathetic. It had nothing it described besides the filling– it looked poorly made — it was 4 dollars, so I realize it’s not that big of a loss, but the integrity of the people making the rolls is not there with the quality of the food. SUPER disappointed as I have had this roll many times in their actual restaurant. Will never get sticky rice to go again.

I dunno why this place gets so much hate. It’s saved my butt from complete starvation multiple times. Yeah, it’s a little bit pricier, but it’s SUSHI. Being a vegan and cutting out that pricey tuna-eel-tempura-shrimp human-centipede-esque roll from my diet helps my wallet, but I don’t expect a 10 $ receipt. I sort of want my sushi to be a bit pricey, if it’s not it makes me a little nervous. I am in love with their Popeye roll. Mushrooms and spinach in a sushi roll? I’ll take 30 of them please. The Veggie Medley is A+ as well, and of course the mainstay avocado rolls are nice. They’ve never messed up when I ask for them to keep specific orders separate, especially if I’m treating some non-vegan coworkers. The bike delivery guys are super sweet and I know they do their best to get to me as soon as possible, but life/bad drivers/crap happens. Order an hour ahead of time, and your food will be there.

Their tater tots are bomb… BUT their sushi rolls are NOT bomb, they give you literally 5 pieces and charge you $ 8. I will never order sushi from here again. It is a complete rip off.

You can order a bucket of tots. A bucket. With sriracha ranch. How can anything in the world compare? (p.s. everything else is seriously delicious too)

The Tuesday night«Veggie Heaven» special is a tremendous deal that gives you half off all vegetarian rolls, so you can sample a good portion of Sticky’s whimsical menu and feed a crowd. The rolls are fresh, but not very distinct from one another. We had the Spicy Avocado, GI Jane, Gardens on Fire, Hot Hippie, Garden Balls, and Shiitake Happens. With the exceptions of the last two, these were supposed to pack some heat, which was gentle and not always detectable. The GI Jane is supposed to be rolled in crushed wasabi peas, but these crumbs were outnumbered by sesame seeds. The much-vaunted Garden Balls were short on the«garden» and long on the mayonnaise, rice, and battered inari. Then they’re drizzled with a sticky sweet sauce that makes you sweat soy sauce, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Since this place(along with its siblings across the street and in DC) seems to owe its continued survival to its deep fryer – its most popular offering is tater tots – the Shiitake Happens were a pleasant surprise. Contrary to its silly name, it’s a lighter roll of just rice wrapped in nori and topped with a heap of sauteed mushrooms, served battleship style, that lets its relatively clean, umami flavors shine. Otherwise, this place is a definite improvement over supermarket sushi. Even if you’re not a vegetarian, Veggie Heaven Tuesdays are well worth a try.

Remember those beautifully cool days last week when there was no humidity? Well, I’m one of those days I was working on my patio and craving sushi but really not wanting to move… enter Sticky ToGoGo! I’m already familiar with the restaurant menu, having eaten there for years, but I have not ever had their food delivered. We went straight for a couple of our favorites, sticky balls and edamame and a couple of rolls. The food arrived very quickly, in less than 25 minutes. Everything was tasty like we enjoy in the restaurant and didn’t appear worse for the wear on its bicycle trip. Are used their online ordering platform this time but I know call-in is also an option. The delivery guy was very friendly. All in all, it was a great experience! #yelpforgood

On yesterday I was hungry and wanted to have something different for Lunch. Because of my reluctance to stick to what I knew, Sticky Rice was one of the few options that I had. How did my experience turn out? Read below. The Good: Delivery– I ordered the food via Eatstreet during mid day and received my order within 30 minutes. Given the traffic and distance the restaurant is from where I am, I thought that delivery was exceptional. The condition of the food when I received it was very good. I ordered the Chicken Fried Rice and a side of Tater Tots. The rice and tots were still hot and the tots appeared to be in good condition(being still crispy without being overcooked). Portion Size– For what I ordered, the portion size was very reasonable. I am always a sucker for ordering meals fit for adults and not children. The Bad: Price– Sticky Rice’s version of «Chicken Fried Rice» was $ 10. The side of Tater Tots was $ 3. While the portion size was reasonable, I personally feel that the items may have been overpriced. Taste– Upon first bite of the tots and rice, I was fairly pleased with what I order, but as I began to chew more and more, there was a sodium explosion in my mouth. Upon closer observation, the tater tots had a noticeably excessive amount of salt on them and the rice was so salty that I could barely take a bite without drinking some water. To me, the food became so salty that I had to throw it away or I would have stroked out right then and there. Overall: It was nice to be able to order from a restaurant that I have never experienced before. I liked the delivery and the portion size of the food. The price might be a tad bit on the high side for me and the food that I ordered was so salty it was inedible. I could possibly see myself ordering a dish from Sticky Rice that is not fried, but my overall experience was far from good. TWOSTARS.
