The Treat Shop RVA

This place is heaven on earth. I don’t think I can emphasize anymore how much I appreciate them and their funnel cakes!!! Jasmine was awesome and friendly when helping me with my order of what ice cream I should get to go with my funnel cake. I also got cheese fries to take home and they were really good as well. Definitely a place to check out if you’re in the area but it’s worth the drive as well considering it might be the only place in rva that serves funnel cake in the area.

I love the convenience of an awesome shop that will wreck my diet (kidding). But I will be back for some ice cream

A friend told me about The Treat Shop RVA. I went to try some desserts. We were kindly greeted by an employee after entering. I ordered a lemon filled donut, glazed twist donut, and apple fritter to go. My three desserts were delicious. The lemon filled donut and glazed twist was light and fluffy. The apple fitter was huge. It was one of the best fritters I’ve had in RVA. I arrived late evening, so a lot of donuts were sold out. It’s best to arrive early for a better selection. This is one of the few places you can get a fresh funnel cake. The ice cream case has a variety of flavors. The Treat Shop RVA sells food like NC BBQ, hot dogs, and burgers. The dessert shop is located in a small strip mall. It’s plenty of parking for customers. The Treat Shop RVA is a good choice for donuts/​dessert in RVA. I give The Treat Shop RVA a 4.5 rating.

OMG… the apple fritters are off the chain… got dough nuts too… fresh and plain out dayum good… the guys working the counter are very polite and helpful… they seemed to enjoy their jobs… better food and great customer service already beats the «chain» shops… it’s worth the trip wherever you are…

if you live on the south side this place is a must. If you don’t live on the south side, get out of your neighborhood and try it. The doughnuts are amazing. I hear the other food is great too but i really haven’t made it past the doughnuts. The owner is always smiling and super helpful. Cant say it enough, support local business and do you tastebuds (if not your waistline) a favor!

What a great little shop! I stopped in because I saw such great Unilocal reviews and they were all correct! The lady that helped me was so sweet! Imagine my surprise when they had Superman ice cream. I haven’t had it since I was a kid, so I had to get a scoop. I’ve eaten one of the donuts so far and it is fabulous! Toasted coconut, chocolate glaze and caramel. The nice lady called it the reverse s’mores. I’m eager to go back and check out their savory items as well. So glad I tried this place, but am also a little worried for my waistline!

Stopped in for a funnel cake and got a donut for being a first-​time visitor. Awesome customer service and amazing, so nice you’ve gotta say it twice, amazing funnel cakes and topping options. All of the other goodies in the case looked tasty as well. Will make a trip back when I visit Richmond again! Come to Hampton Roads, please!

Funnel cake and fried Oreos – in a non-​fair setting! It’s so good. They have other offerings like BBQ, ice cream, donuts, and burgers, but honestly all I can think about when I go there is getting funnel cake and fried Oreos. It’s best to go with friends for that reason – share the calories.
Place is clean, staff is extremely friendly – I feel like family when I walk in, and prices are reasonable. Definitely check them out!

Seriously delicious donuts ! Fluffy and fresh and mouth watering ! The staff is super nice and helpful I was even offered a taste sampler! I didn’t know they sold sandwiches as well. I will definitely be back. The service is stellar Thank you for brightening my morning !!

The treat shop, is a real treat. Especially when it is a few minutes away from me. Now, I’m spoiled by french style asian bakery. We do not have any of that here in Richmond but my bar is still set relatively high when it comes to pastries. What actually caught my eyes were the funnel cakes. this is amazing, funnel cakes all year round, what more could you ask for? maybe choux à la crème, but that’s beside the point. I can’t talk now, still eating that big fluffy delicious funnel cake…
lastly, it is the same price as ones they have at state fair, but you do not need a entry ticket, and it tastes better. value city all the way!

The staff here is out of this world friendly. They are the reason we will be back. Bonus: the donuts are superb. They are airy and light and fresh. The apple fritter is my personal favorite. It’s lighter than most so you can have one for breakfast and still be able to eat the rest of the day. Try one!

Great little sweet shop located on janke road. Walked in only for a overview to see what was offered. Walked out with two doughnuts and a hunger for more. The owner who was working behind the counter offered me samples and his creations. (How could I say no). They also serve funnel cakes and other sweets and even hot food like hot dogs and such.

These are the best doughnuts I have had in Richmond! We stopped in for a dozen doughnuts to feed the masses for Easter weekend and had a hard time choosing which ones to bring home. The owner was very helpful and made us feel right at home! Go by there and check it out — you’ll be glad you did!

People were so nice and welcoming. Offered us a free fried Oreo sample and of course we bought some! Also bought donuts which are the best in RVA! And the donuts are huge. We will be back to try the BBQ and to get some donuts for my office. The décor inside is cute for the space as well. Great addition to our neighborhood. Give this place some love. I wish them the best!

Hands down the best donuts in Richmond. Sugar Shack is mediocre compared to this place. Normally I avoid chocolate cake donuts because they are usually unbearably dry, but I got one here and it was PERFECT… moist and delicious.

This place is great!!! The best donuts and funnel cakes in town!!! I’m a very picky person and this place is clean and they offer excellent service. Please go there you will love it

The donuts are some form of divine pastry intervention. The service is of the most exquisite reward for your patronage. When you enter the doors you feel as if you have been transported back to the old fashioned donut shops. The display case is so inviting that you can’t leave with just one donut might as well buy a dozen and add a cinnamon roll!

This is a partial review but can be useful nonetheless. I had some donuts and apple fritters from this place. The donuts were just as tasty as Sugar Shack Donuts for a cheaper cost. Upon looking at the menu, I observed that the place also sells funnel cakes, sandwiches and hot dogs. Just off of the variety, low prices and good flavors that they offer puts them above Sugar Shack IMO. I would recommend this place to anyone and one day I will go there to complete a full review. FOUR STARS

It’s a cute little shop that offers a quick snack (BBQ and hot dogs) or a tasty treat from ice cream to funnel cakes too bad it took an hour for me to get mine. I came in with two other people and ordered a plain funnel cake the people I was with received their orders (2 jelly donuts and funnel cake with strawberries) so I waited more people ordered funnel cakes more people got them I DIDNT so I waited I was constantly acknowledged with «you’re next» the shop got crowded all those funnel cake orders were filled NOT MINE the shop slowly emptied out im still waiting until I’m the last one in there and I get mine funnel cake I want o go back and try more but I can’t be treated like that again although they thanked me for my patience it was ridiculous I tried not to show my disdain EVERYTIME they handed out a funnel cake to someone who came in after me I took it personal. I won’t say don’t go because it’s really cute and there was nothing negative to say about the food I can’t say the service was bad because others were served promptly but I did not leave happy
